I think if ruto could have embraced the handshake, accept to be part of it, he would be running against Raila and not uhuru. Uhuru seems to have an agenda of peace and unity as his main legacy and felt like ruto was messing up his legacy.

Handshake should have been left to be about national peace; not about the 2022 succession politics. The President should give Kenyans the leeway to choose the next leader by universal suffrage - the majority vote should be allowed to hold sway over who leads Kenya next. It's very wrong for him to make attempts at swaying our minds in favour of Raila and against Ruto, even as we enjoy the freedom of choice.
