- Happy New Year everyone!
A viewer sent me this wonderful package filled with stamped images. What a wonderful way to share your stamps! She used a washable/ permanent ink (listed below) and stamped on torn muslin and twill tape. In this video, I show how I used some of these images in a project.
Here's the video showing how I make the button dangle zipper pull:

I love your up cycling videos. I know UA-camrs don’t want to repeat stuff but as a viewer I really enjoy seeing what you do with shirts etc over and over because your stuff makes sense and is something people will use.
Adding that sculpted piece of towel to the purse!!! Who'd a thunk it? I probably would have looked at it and said "mmmm...nice towel" and put it back on the shelf! That tree fabric reminds me of some fabric that I had used on a project several years ago...I need to dig thru my stash! Thanks for this neat idea!
I absolutely love watching your videos. You have really given so much sanity and happiness in these crazy times. It is just so relaxing and calming to watch you work and draw inspiration from you. Thank you so much.
Another great make Julia 😍
Thank you so much for your kind words Cheryl. Your encouragement means so much! Happy sewing, Julia
Cute bag Julia! I am flabbergasted at how much textiles are in our landfills. I truly hope people start WAKING UP and stop wasting. That would be great, wouldn't it? I have bought most of my clothing from second hand stores, even bought a few things today at a thrift store that are perfectly good. Thanks for the video!
And people think I'M creative....... I'm nothing compared to you. You're hooking me onto your site. I JUST LOVE what you do!!!!☺
Hi Barb, I’m so glad you are enjoying my videos! Happy stitching! Julia
Hi Julia - I just had to pause this video and say that’s an awesome gift. Getting stamped fabric is like getting gold to us crafters!!! So many pretty things for you to create new things with. I’m so happy for you. Now back to the video. Will edit my comment once I see what you create!!! 💕💕💕
I love it Julia! Yours is so pretty and unique. One of a kind bags are so fun. I only carry this type bag. They are so convenient to just throw over your head and not have to worry about it while shopping. I made one a few months back to just take shopping with me. Several ladies have asked me where I got it, and I just say that I made it. It makes you feel good when others like the things that you create.
Hope you are staying warm. We are suppose to get snow tonite and tomorrow. Up to 7”. I got supplies in this afternoon for me and for my parents so we are all good. I’d prefer sunny & 85 degrees but it’s winter so just be happy being in a warm house with everything you need. Love & Hugs! 💕🤗❄️🙃⛄️
Hi Pam, I agree with you- unique bags are the best and they must be hands-free! We have been having such wonderful weather so far-yeah! My husband and I are still planning a trip to AZ for a couple of months this winter. I love desert hikes! My mother-in-law lives in assistant living here in MN and should be getting the vaccine next week. We want to wait around here to make sure she doesn't have any adverse reaction to it etc. Will things ever be normal again? Keep safe and sane! Julia
@@stitchesbyjulia Never been desert hiking. Sounds fun. Enjoy the little things in life. Have a fun and safe trip. Hugs.
Give this five stars!!! Incredibly clever to use the towel! The coloring is amazing. So beautiful💕. Thank you for sharing! I'll be checking out towels on my next thrifting😉
Hi Julia! I love how you added the colors to your raised pieces on the towel! Brilliant idea! I have got to give that one a try. TFS!
super fun! I LOVE what you did to the towel! Looks really neat!
Hi Carrie, Thanks so much, I love coloring (LOL)
Love your work, Julia. Thank you, you’re such an inspiration.
You are so clever, Julia :) Love the bag and how you show how to do all the processes! :)
Hi Julia I love your crossbody purse! You have the best ideas! I just love to watch your videos, I could sit and watch them all day! Xoxo 😘
Thank you so much! Happy sewing to you in 2021! Julia
@@stitchesbyjulia your very welcome Julia! Thanks 😊 Rhonda
That is so precious... always looking for new ideas!
The purse turned out just beautiful. For 2021 I will NOT be buying any craft supplies or fabric. I have enough for 3 lifetimes, using what I have. It's so easy to get sucked into the "newest" ink colors, paint, paper and all the great fabric. I like the idea of stamping on the twill tape. I'm going to try that with Staz-On ink. Are you enjoying all this hoar frost? It's so beautiful. Happy New Year to everyone,
Hi Kathy, I so agree with no buy on craft supplies. So many of the paints etc have a shelf life. I have to use up what I have before they dry out! We are having such a beautiful mild winter. So far no complaining here:)
Wow great way to start out the year! We all need some new incentives and inspirations and you always come through! Thanks so much for the video. your crossovers are just beautiful can’t wait to see what you do next! 🤗
I love your videos and really look forward to new ones! They really inspire!
Very creative!
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Who'd have thought of using a towel🥰
That’s so creative Julia. Thanks for giving us these brilliant ideas. 👌
I love trees, so of course, I love this! I can’t wait to see all your ideas this year. Happy New Year!
That bag looks wonderful.
you are more than ready for quilting... go for it. I started a couple of little projects y was able to complete them. Start with baby quilts or throw ones that are short and easy..... wait to see what you come up with!!! blessings
Very cool. Thank you, Julia, for this tutorial!
I realy love watching you doing your Projects.
Have a good 2021. 💖
You have just inspired me to get back into my sewing room. Thank you. Hugs, treen 💕💕💕
Beautiful share of your gifts and talents🥰
Great project! Love your videos, so much inspiration. THANK YOU! The stamped images look so good!

Happy New Year Julia! I look forward to your many wonderful creative ideas!
Ohhhh my goodness,I love it👏👏👏 Thank you ❤️😀
I just can't wait to try this just gorgeous
Beautiful. I love summer, don't get me wrong. But the beauty of the fall colors are so inspiring. This purse turned out beautiful and has inspired me to make my own version. Thank you for sharing. It had inspired me to pull out my fall stamps and intense inks and create one putting my own spin on it. Thanks again Julia.
Fall is my favorite! I love the colors too and I love sweaters! Last year we had the most beautiful Fall here in MN. The colors and the warmer weather lasted for weeks. Hoping for a repeat this year! Thanks for watching, Julia
Love it! Thank you Julia. Happy 2021! X
Happy New Year! Great inspiration with the towel!

Nice bag. Great stamped images for what you've done with it.
Loved this!!
Yet another great idea ! Particularly like your use of the towel . Thank you
You’re welcome 😊
That purse is so cute. You are so creative, Julia. Keep videos coming. I liked the idea of doing projects with recycled clothing.
Lovely to see something from you Julia ! A great make, loved the stamped images too. enjoyed the video, was good to see how it all came together. Thankyou for sharing, have a safe and productive year ahead !
Thanks so much! 😊

Hi Julia, your talent and creativity are awe inspiring. What a wonderful bag. What a wonderful gift to you, and your use of that gift was wonderfully done. Thanks so much for all of your inspiration. Al the best for the New Year!
Happy New Year Janet! Thanks for watching. Julia
Looks great and Happy New year from Australia xx
Beautiful creative idea
Keep going👍
I have to be honest, Julia, I had no idea where you were going with that towel, but I did understand why you were inspired by the sculpted effect of it. I loved watching this project come together as I could not imagine your vision LOL. I love it!!! You are so clever and there was much to learn here. To the viewer that sent you the stamped pieces...Cudooos!! What a great idea to share and inspire but also just to have on hand for quick additions. Top notch!!
Your comment made me laugh because I was wondering if I could make that towel work too-Ha! I always fly by the seat of my pants...enjoy your weekend. Julia
@@stitchesbyjulia well it was a good flight :)
This is such a beautiful and artistic bag. Lovely😍
You are such an inspiration to me! I haven’t done any of your projects (yet!), but I hope to soon!! 😊 I have never worked with InkTense blocks or fabric medium as you show in your video. Do you have a separate video to introduce that method?
Thanks so much for sharing.
I love your projects and it makes me want to get back into sewing. I've lost my MoJo with sewing and crafting!
Awesome video
I am interested in making utensils holder and bowl cozy with placemat for work. And also the composition book covers you’ve made in the past for my seven year olds who are learning how to write stories and sentences. Thank you for your time.
Love this and love your videos, you move quickly and cram SO much info into each one! Thanks so much for a channel that is so chock full of fun inspiration. ❤️
Hi Debbie, Thanks so much for the comment, you're encouraging words mean a lot! Have a great weekend. Julia
OMG LOVE THIS 🥰
We needed this today
It's been a rough week. Sewing helps keep my mind off of everything. Thanks for watching, Julia
Your channel got “lost” when my Phone died , I looked and couldn’t find you ! I just looked again and Found you!!
So tickled!! I have a lot to catching up to do ! It’s February 13th- Happy Valentines Day! Love your channel !
Hi Pat! Happy Valentines Day to you too. I'm glad you re-found me!
A great bag. I'm not sure what you mean by improv quilting so I may have done it.
I bought some stamps just for using on fabric. I want to add some special details to a quilt with my stamps. I used permanent ink but then the steam from the iron caused smearing.
I'm so sorry that happened. I haven't experienced that with the Archival Inks from Ranger. I always let the ink completely dry- heat setting without steam will also help set that ink into the fibers. Hope this helps, thanks for watching. Julia
Love it! And since I am steadily copying everything you use and make (!) please can you tell me if the seam guide was part of your walking foot? I have a W. foot & it was super expos I’ll kick myself if I could have bought this! I always struggle with seam widths so any help much appreciated! Please, keep the videos coming, I so look forward to them.
Hi Stephanie, In this video, I am using a Janome machine and the guide thingy actually hooks onto the walking foot. However, some machines have a place to insert the guide on the shank. For years, I had it in my accessory case and had no idea what it was LOL. It's a simple little gadget but is so useful. You may have to check your manual or ask a sewing machine dealer. Thanks so much for watching! Julia
I'd love you to put out some new collage and ribbon snippet videos!
Hi Sara, I am working a new series on how to use a snippet roll in different projects. It should be in the next couple of weeks. Thanks so much for watching, Julia
Hi Julia The link to see how you make your button pull is invalid. Please give us the correct link
What fabric was the stamped image? Not the twill take the other fabric. Sorry if I missed it?
I think she said it was muslin. That's what it looks like to me :)
Hi Karen, The fabric is a natural muslin. thanks for watching, Julia
Where would I send happy mail? ☺️
