P1 Max was sorely under appreciated. Great vocal range presentation. And one of the cheapest planar options on Linsoul for quite a while. The original Tin P1 (though a nightmare to drive) is also sadly overlooked now.

Nice review, Thanks! I bought the ARTTI T10's as my first planar iems. they are a nice value and sound really good.
I have the S12 and S12 Pro, the latter of which I listen to exclusively. However, I’ve always had an intense interest in the P1 Max but never bought it because I just enjoy the S12 Pro. I even bought the Nice HCK F1 Pro’s but I returned them because they were a little treble spicy, like my original S12’s.
When I saw v2 of the Max available, I was instantly piqued waiting for reviews to show up. And here you are! 😊 I have a set sitting in my Amazon cart and I haven’t pulled the plug yet but now I’m 90% sure I’m going to get them! Thanks for the review! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I went down the planar rabbit hole in 2021. I got the Timeless, S12, and then sort of held there, until last year when I finally picked up the P1 Max. The OG Panda is probably still in my top 5 IEMs. After getting it, I did the Short Bus mod to my S12, because it was too bright by comparison. The only graph I have seen on the P1 Max 2, seemed like it has a very different treble tuning, with a substantial peak around 2.5k.
Tinhifi P2 is probably the hardest iem to drive...ever

Akros, new Panda and Panda after 300 hours are two different sounds, keep that in mind !!!
I tried many planars - but settled on P1Max (second, the first ones had problems with bass). And I will say - after 300-400 hours of burning, the HF of Panda are greatly tamed. If on the new ones I used 4-5mm tips (such as kbear07 and Sancai), then after 300 hours I began to miss the high frequencies even with the most open ones (7mm), such as Latex, Spring and Azla Original.
At the same time with Panda there were Shuoer S12 - there are too bright high frequencies against the backdrop of a retracted midrange (not enough emotions), and the same Tea2 loses even more strongly in the midrange.
I’m more than sure that with the new Panda they pulled off the same trick as with the S12/S12Pro - by slightly changing the damping material in the sound guide. I'm sticking with the first Panda - I'm now more interested in single-dynamic models that cost more than 200 euros...
do you mean you preferred P1 max II or P1 max I upgrade version (produced after after 2022-23)

Nice review as usual Tony. Would you review the Tiandirenhe TD20? It's a planar IEM around $60-70 and I'm interested in it but can't find any review so far. I figured that it would be best to ask you since you did one on the TD18 and tend to review less known IEMs.
I'm having a hard time deciding between the following:
1.) TSMR X Anniversary
2.) ThieAudio Oracle MkII
3.) ISN Audio Est50
@Akros, which one would you recommend. I love a u/v shape signature with sparkle highs, clarity and some solid clean bass.

So the driver in the P1 Max 2 is better than MP145 but you said also MP145 is a better purchase at the same price. Strange statement my friend. Ive loved P1 Max for quite some time, not sure this new tuning is of any interest to me anyway. I don't want more bass or treble.

Good sound stays good. People will still reco Sony MDR7506 because it is that good. Look for reviews of something that lasts long and avoid metal IEMS if you live in a humid place.

Well you have the first series P1MAX or later.
If it is the original neutral tune then I would say the P1 II is.worth considering.
If it's the latest, then no.
The difference is noticeable.....more.highs on the later P1 Max.... slightly darker if the tuning is the original.

Tony, if it comes down to a choice between the retuned version P1 Max and the P1 Max 2, would it be safe to say that the P1Max 1(retuned) is the better choice, price-to-performance wise?
By the way, here in the Philippines the P1 Max 1(retuned) is still available(via China-based on-line retailers), and it is $36 cheaper than the P1 Max 2.
*$138 for the P1 Max 2 vs $102 for the P1 Max 1(retuned).

I've been wanting to get at least one planar magnetic IEM when planar magnetic IEMs first came out, but just wasn't so sure which exactly because of the many feedbacks and reviews about them, and knowing that there will be more refinements to come, so i just held out for a while. But after watching your review on the P1 Max 1 and the P1 Max 2(and given your history of making good recs), i think now would be a good time to get into planar magnetics and i won't feel like i'm playing Russian Roulette with my hard-earned money.
And with that, i now will begin saving up for what will be my first planar magnetic iem.

While The P1 Max 2 sells for about 7, 820 Php over at StarSea Audio.
