Thank you for taking the time to do a rundown of the various films you use, and for posting examples of photographs shot using most of the films you mentioned. The plethora of film choices is pretty daunting, and your breakdown of several old and new options makes it easier to decide which films I'd like to try next to get the results I'm after. Sharing your time and your experiences is much appreciated!
Cool video! I was gifted a Pentax ME today and I've been up all night researching film photography. I've never done it before! Your videos are helping me learn terminology and the types of film. Thanks!
Wow you actually addressed my question I sent you by email a while ago about what types of film you recommend. Thanks for taking the time to make this comprehensive video! I've also been wanting to try the Adox CMS II high resolution film. From the images I've seen of it you would almost think it's digital! Lots of other films I didn't know about here. I can now use this video as a visual reference whenever I decide to go out and try new film. Thanks Stefan!
I love your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. Its hard to find good resources on this stuff for newbies. I was obsessed with pixel counting and digital formats until your and a few others videos came along. I'm really interested in shooting film and just ordered a Minolta to get started. Again, thanks for sharing. Keep making videos!
That's awesome news Stefan. Honestly, I just love the videos where people go out for walks with a gopro or whatever and show the shots on the screen as they take them through out. "I'm going out with my Nikon F3 to the farmers market with Portra 400 today." Or whatever. I could watch those for hours. Other than that, maybe an episode on purchasing vintage cameras? You seem to have a huge collection. Learning how you acquired some of those things, where to look, tips on ebay or other sites, etc. could be really useful! In the end though I think my favorite part of your channel is just watching you create actively. Its such an inspiring experience and keeps me excited to participate. The episode where you went out and gave away the 4x5 portraits of people is my favorite (albeit probably the most expensive so far for you haha!) Thanks again for everything Stefan, keep it up! Can't wait to see your new video! -Alex

There you have some stunning photos. Nice work I have experience with a couple of nikon dslr but some day i will enter the film world so what would you recommend me to start with??
+Stefan Litster thanks. In my house there is a minolta x300 that doesnt work (the popular capacitor i guess) with a tokima 35-70 lens. Do you think is worth using this camera?? Do you think is worth buying a lens adaptor to nikon f mount for the dslr??
Have you tried using a macro lens on a digital camera to do high resolution scans? Just finished watching all your videos, keep up the great work! Really inspiring me to get out and shoot some film.
Hi Stefan!Good video of film gear.Back in th late 1980's,when I started to be interested in photography, you had to serious pro or rich person to shoot medium format.Pentax 6X7 was my dream, landscape camera.I got me K1 000.(That's all I could afford in those days)I wonder if you could give me some advice about black& white film?Last weekend I pulled out some of my old film that I haven't seen for a long time.I was pleasantly surprised when I scanned a roll of "AGFA APX 25",from 1993..I scanned it just for "Facebook" with my barely adequate,"EPSON PERFECTION 4490",flat bad scanner.Men,i love the mood of that film, very classy.Film have very fine grain,i shoot it on the Jericho beach in Vancouver, late in the afternoon.Looks like ,they don't make this film anymore.Do you think that one of those slow speed "ILFORD" films would give me similar results?I prefer fine grain, sharp film,i like to use tripod. I tried to shoot black&white with my full frame DSLR,it's just not the same. Thanks!
Very cool, I stumbled across your channel and realized you live in Saskatchewan! I used to live in Moose Jaw on the base back when my dad was in the military
I have a V600 scanner, but since I got my dank room setup I never use it. Mostly I shoot 4x5 on my MPP Micro press handheld with a 135mm Schneider 4.7 Xenar lens. Film is usually Ilford Ortho 80 which I dish develop by inspection under a red Paterson safelight. I then contact print. If I need an enlargement I get my local lab to print it. They have optical enlargers.
Thanks man Awesome channel I am starting out in Film photography as iv always had an interest which means putting down my Nikon D810 for a while hehehe. Have you made any money from any of your film shots or do you just shoot film purely for hobby ? Keep up the great work :)
Do you have to shoot with a certain lens to get a good portrait photo? (Focused subject, blurred background) I've tried with the lens I have now but I can't seem to get it the way I'm looking for.
With my last roll of film, I shot with a 50mm f/1.9, but I just recently picked up an old Nikon FG and I am using a 43-86mm f/3.5 with that. (Have not used it yet...) Any recommendations for a Nikon lens?

Awesome! I would love to get into doing portraits at some point. What film, in your opinion, would give you the best turn out for portraits?
What kind of b&w film would you recommend? I am taking a trip to California over the summer and I am stocking up on some film.
I have found some filters that are half orange and some that are completely orange, which one works the best?
Awesome, thanks!
So much film!
