@@roughcutguitars I probably didn't word that very well, it doesn't read too friendly, my apologies. I just jumped on it cause i've been playing it a while and it's one of favorite tunes to play. I posted a clip of me playing it just the other day on instagram so it was fresh in my mind. I wont go into how dadgad is so different to drop d because i'm sure you are aware. Everything else in your comment I totally agree with. Tommy is almost beyond description as a man and a musician, this composition is magical and if there is a heaven, I'm sure this is the song playing as you arrive. cheers

A man who worked so hard at what he does. And became so good at it. What a blessing. And that particular guitar and sound set up that night was superb. That guitar "sang", at the mids and highs, yet was so mellow at the other end. I have listened to this performance about 16 million times :)

A friend was giving me static about my guitar having worn scratches, nicks and being in a worn condition. My reply was ,"...it is in "love" condition, look at Tommy Emmanuel guitar, he has shown it lots of love..."
Rod Morrison You may have heard this, but once at a show his hand went right through the body, it had worn so thin. But he had it repaired, and kept playing it

Those worn spots are put there on purpose....he uses them for scratching to make percussion sounds....quite amazing! He is my favorite!

Gorgeous piece. But, check out Phil Keaggy's song County Down. A more beautiful song, I think. But no one is a better player or entertainer on fingerstyle acoustic than Tommy.
Chuck Brown For me, this song paints a picture of being up in the mountains during the fall, hearing a creek run down, and looking down over the endless horizon. I’ve been on trips and had experiences exactly like that, and have listened to this song in the process. That’s why it’s the most beautiful to me.
