Welcome back to another installment of Project Acte. My 1993 Honda Acty Kei van is being converted to electric. In this episode we're talking Tesla batteries, how I bought them, how I'm planning to contain them, how I'm going to mount them to the van, and then how I'm managing them.
These videos take so much time to put together and there's no way for me to get all the information about the process into a succinct video, but if you're curious about more of the process I've written up some more about the build in detail here:
How I wired my Dilithium Battery management system:

The amount of effort that's gone into this is so impressive. And the result is so good.
Exhausted over here.
That was an incredible video! I was impressed by the way the story was told, the editing and motion graphics, and of course, the engineering involved.
Only thing tiktok is good for is finding awesome channels like this. Love your work. Keep it up 🤟🤟
Hey, welcome. Thanks for watching.
Wow, what a great video for such a small channel! You channel will grow very fast for sure!
Keep it going will be a good job when finished
I love both the fact that you've taken up this challenge and the way you're editing/styling the video of tge project. Hopefully your channel blows up one day
Thanks! Yeah the videos are just about as hard as the build haha.
So many skills I need to learn! Thanks for sharing as always 🤙
so sick
Found you on tictok! I have the 80s vehicle I wanted to convert. This is awesome!
Do it!
very nice video! love how you took the time to give us all the details. Finally someone showing how to put together a battery box. I'm working on an ev conversion now and will also use tesla model s batteries.
Happy to be your 1000th subscriber! Can't wait to see how this project continues.
Wow that's awesome! Thanks for watching.
looking forward to it... best of luck!
Thanks!
that's how it is man my kei van runs on gas and I STILL had to wait on and off for like 2 years on just mechanical work.
The color grading work in this video! Love it
Dude! You do such a great job explaining the process. Cool music, too! Do you know how long it took from the day you started, and how many hours you spent on it? What was the part that took the longest?
Thanks man!
Great questions. It would be hard to estimate the amount of hours but it’s in the ballpark of 2,000 hours. But I’m genuinely a guy who started with nothing knowledge or equipment wise so for others it goes a lot quicker. The hardest part was the batteries I’d say. Figuring out the boxes, mounts, the wiring for them, and then the plumbing, all of that was so so much work.
This is amazing ❤. So well done the editing is perfect
Thanks!
This is so cool! Will def be following the build
Thanks for following!
amazing work dude. thanks for the videos
Of course! Thanks for watching.
Hey, could you share some more insights into the design of the battery box? I'm curious about how they are held inside the box not to move around when driving. And how you managed to hermetically seal the boxes. Much appreciated 👍
Problem solving! Wicked stuff can’t wait to see vid of you rolling down the road when it’s done. I have a VW Rabbit pickup and would be fun to do a similar project for a mountain bike mini truck
Thanks man! Ooooh a mountain bike mini truck sounds dope.
Can you post the CAD models for your battery box? Happy to contribute!
Im doing a similar build where I need to mount 2 modules under the hood and 4 in the trunk of an MG Midget.
Please upload fast 😅
Nice man! Is the audio balance off? Left seams a bit louder.
Maybe, I'll give it a closer listen.
Add a power wheel motor to each tire... And four DeWalt batteries for each tire... Bingo
I would have been soooooo upset with that seller. At least they were accommodating but still…
They were really very good about it all, but it was definitely frustrating.
What a clown show. At least your battery seller continued to try to make it right, but, man, you think he'd be interested in checking the quality of what he sent before he sent it. A lot easier.
It was a bit of a mess. Murphy's law comes to mind. The funny ending to that story was that to deliver those final four batteries the seller hand delivered them all the way from out of state.
