Every so often, these videos will have that iconic and legendary LGR moment. Your "Fresh Oats," your pole of pubes at a Goodwill, your the entire Read-a-Rama experience. That whole thing where the video on the computer screen goes out and cuts to the screensaver that says "penises." "Rib Bit" would have sufficed as just its own existence. However, printing the entire t-shirt the wrong direction and having it fall apart on the shirt until it came back smeared is the epitome of the LGR Cinematic Universe.

"Clark McCallister" absolutely has to be a pseudonym. It's literally the first and last names of two main characters from famous Christmas movies. If they just happened to find some guy with that name to do the liner notes for a Christmas-themed tape, I'd be amazed.

Fun fact: it's really easy to hack the Flying Windows screensaver by changing one byte of the file to show a different character. Even the Starfield Simulation screensaver is just a modified version of Flying Windows that just shows a "." instead.

"ȷ̵ȷ̵iƐ︳diЯ" even. Well, that's as close as I could get using only Unicode. There is a "reversed R", but the Cyrillic "capital Ya" is much better. "latin small letter dotless j" with "combining short stroke overlay" makes an almost-convincing "reversed t". d - obviously - is a great reversed b, and the "reversed capital B" I managed is easily the worst of them all, "︳" takes up so much space but was the one character I could find being a vertical bar with as little space on the left as possible (instead having roughly half a universe's worth of space on the right).

I immediately started contemplating if I'd feel like putting effort in editing for a one second transition like this. The answer was no.
this is exactly why i dont get content ID/all that music match and use stuff. nobody is coming to LGRs channel to listen to 10 seconds of a cassette of an orchestra recording from 1992 that was literally given away two and a half decades ago. but that 27 year old orchestra gotta make a third of a penny.

The piece of music may be in the public domain but the composition/recording itself can be copyrighted. Copyright law is strange like that, but yeh noone should be getting dinged for an excerpt especially as someone could hear it, decide they like it and then go buy it for themselves.
Also it seems that the whole thing is already available to listen to on UA-cam anyway.

Those off-key MIDI files are ace! We have a guy who gets up by our local shopping centre playing off key jingle bells on his accordion. It'll go on for about five minutes and then the jingle bells bit comes in and that's the only bit i recognise. I love it.
I love that Space Tree attack just has a tiny Santa floating forever in space after your ship blows up.
Your videos are great. Last night I was sick in bed and awoke to videos from 8 years ago. As much as it made me want to give in to being sick and just die because of time, it was quite relaxing and helped me sleep. Thank you so much. I had this growing up but I could never figure out exactly what the name of the collection. I only had a few PC games, so I actually played this a lot. Now I know the name and have the ISO, you've more than made my day!
Ninja edit: in the games look under the controller options there's funny stuff, for instance if you pick joystick it says "Oh the joy of sticks!"
Seeing this video actually means a lot to me. I forgot how silly this game was but I was also extremely young when I played it on the computer - mid 90s. I remember by the time I was 11 or close to it that this game would no longer run on the newer operating systems - XP I think. For years (now I’m 31), I had hoped somebody would post a video just so I could see it again because I could not remember the games exactly. I had not seen any videos when I checked in the past. This is the first one.
I did not remember there was anything other than games. I remember landing Santa on the roof, dropping the presents boxes with the sharks, and the squirrel. I did not see it in the video, but I think if you played in 2 player mode that the second player Santa was actually dressed in green rather than red. Thank you for posting this because it actually means a lot to me and brings back very good memories. 👍

8:35 Boeder was a very popular brand of computer supplies like printable labels, products to clean screens, diskettes, mice, and whatnot here in Europe. I remember buying, with my parents, some of their labels for our dot matrix printer when I was a kid. The company disappeared in 2006. Thanks for the fun! Best wishes!

I think this is a problem with Base and Extended MIDI maps. I don’t remember which is which, but one supported channels 1-9, and the other supported channels 11-15. On one, drums were on channel 10, and the other on channel 16. If you had files written for the wrong map, you usually just got silence because nothing was mapped to those channels. Some MIDI files had duplicate content on both mapped channel sets, so it would play on either.
Then we stopped using those maps, and you’re free to use channels 1-9, and 11-16 for melodic, and channel 10 for drums. Some of the old files play fine on that map, some play double (trying to cover both Base and Extended setups), and some play with the drums and one melodic channel swapped, which usually means you get a percussive piano and sometimes random drums everywhere.
In this case, he probably has either B or E mapping enabled, and the MIDI expects something different, so some channels aren’t playing at all. What we’re hearing is the accompaniment track, not the lead instrument, so it sounds wrong in isolation.

I laughed SO hard when it printed out Sonntag instead of Sunday. It looks like the software has been developed in the US. And even if it was done in Germany, how did it pass any QA test for the translation process? In addition to that, the overall amount of laughter and oddness in general made it one of my most favourite episodes.
Most accurate phrase on such 90s software packs: "It brings back memories of disappointment".
