Use a timer to avoid shake coming from pressing the expose button. Even better: remote control your camera from your smartphone. It should be possible with any modern camera. Even my cheap $400 MILC can do it flawlessly and you can also change settings to refine your photo.
Really useful Mark, thank you. I wonder if the use of the self timer device and/or mirrow lockup helps as well or is not that significant in a modern dslr?
Do you ever shoot in manual mode? Just wondering. I'm just starting out and I'm using manual mode. I noticed all your videos ypur in AV mode. Just wondering
0:47 - You can't tell it's a "good, sharp picture" from your LCD screen. It's way too small. 4:30 - "...you don't need to find a flat, stable surface." Isn't that exactly what a wall is? It's just vertical, not horizontal. From iso.org: "Because 'International Organization for Standardization' would have different acronyms in different languages (IOS in English, OIN in French for Organisation Internationale de Normalisation), our founders decided to give it the short form ISO. ISO is derived from the Greek isos, meaning equal. Whatever the country, whatever the language, we are always ISO." It's a word 'iso', not an acronym 'I-S-O'. Think isometric, isochronal or isosceles.
interesting that ISO comes from Greek, fyi, isos and iso are both words and have the same meaning (equal). Isos (ίσος) is used for masculine words while iso (ίσο) is used for neutral words (it) and isi (ίση) is used for female words, and yes words have a gender in Greek, like camera ie is a female word.
