I think what upset Jinx so much in the arcade was that here she is, her full adult self, in the prime of her kick-ass-ness... and she still can't beat the score put up by Vi as a teenager.
And also when Vi was playing this as a teenager she even wasn't tired after that, and here we see Jinx trying so hard, being so wet and full off Energy and she still didn't beat Vi
I think it's more of a metaphor of how she can't overcome her trauma by beating it up. And also it demonstrates a key difference between her and Vi. The last time we saw Vi using the punching machine was when she was struggling with herself about the botched job in Piltover, her responsibility as leader, and what she's willing to lose. She is able to resolve all of that in her mind and decides to turn herself in to the enforcers. Jinx is no better after trying to process her trama with the punching machine than she was beforehand. Vi's methods don't work for her. And, as we see later, Silco's methods don't work for her either. She was still unable to let Powder die, even after the baptism.
@V. L. S. to show how both are doing at that moment one is dying slowly and their losing their vigor while the other is enjoying their life and their great vigor...
It's more like Vi managed to get down there, beat up those two people, strip them of their clothing, and change her clothes by the time both Cait and the old man got down there.
What’s even better was he got there faster than Cait, we just saw him walk into the same street she was on, who knows how fast he actually got there from Piltover

You can get all that greater appreciation after the show is over. There is soooo much good stuff in the LoL cinematics and even the K/DA and Petakill music vids. This show also gets better and better upon re-watching. It's all so dense that there are inevitably going to be things you missed. I've watched it all at least 50 times and still pick up new things.
This is what happens when you take an animation company that is used to making 3 min music videos, and making EVERY second count in those. And giving them the time and budget to essentially make a 7 hour music video that is jam packed full of incredible transitions and nuanced visual storytelling. This show just wouldnt be the same without Fortiche's knowledge, experience and talent.
Some things to clarify: 1) Most LoL Players don't know the Lore and you don't need to to watch the series 2) Some parts of the Lore are changed small-heavily in the series 3) If you play LoL you would just know some characters and maybe identify their abilities as something shown in the series - but there are so many more characters which are not in the game with equal "value". In my opinion not knowing LoL is better in this case because you don't expect plot armor around specific people 4) Season 2 will be made but we will have to wait til 2023/24 (first season took 6 years to make)
The Silco/marcus and Vi/caitlyn relationships are both parrellels to Vander and Grayson, undercity and enforcer working together. However: the powerdynamic is different in all 3 of them. Grayson clearly had the upperhand, she dictated the conversation and if she says something is going to happen, it will. Silco's the dominant one between him and Marcus. Marcus doesn't have the power to back up his threats to Silco and Silco is so good at manipulation that Marcus always ends up doing what he wants. Between Cait and Vi, they're both equals. They take care of eachother, take suggestions from eachother and while the trust hasn't been completely built up yet, there's no skewed powerdynamic.
I would argue that another aspect of it is how the Enforcers deal with their superiors Grayson and Vander both wanted to avoid conflict but she had higher ups that she had to answer to and wasn’t willing to engage in the corruption necessary to cover up bigger issues Marcus participated in that corruption since day one and due to being completely in Silco’s pocket had no choice but to continue to do so if he wanted to keep his job Caitlin is willing to look her superiors in the eye and tell them to go to hell if she thinks they’re wrong
@@jonasquinn7977 very true! That's why I love Caitlyns character, despite her luxury life, despite having everything she could ever want, she can't ignore what's going on in the undercity and will never participate in it, even while being an enforcer.
You are kinda missing the fact that Vi completely betrayed Zaun unlike Vander and Silco. She even becomes enforcer later. Vi and Cait are equal because Cait is compassionate and Vi is traitor. Piltover will never help Zaun at their own expense and entirety of Zaun can't get in pants of councilors daughter and get cushy enforcer job in process. Makes point kinda mute
@@thewingedone1172 shut the fuck up bruh. Silco's influence is intoxicating, just look at shimmer and what it has done to the Huck guy. Vi's just trying to get rid of Silco, she's not against the undercity lol
A small detail I loved this episode that I don't see many talk about is how towards the end of the episode where Jinx is learning the hextech, she has feathers as bookmarks in the notebook. These are probably crow feathers from the same crow she shot earlier in the episode.
You know the funniest shit? We league players didn't know Jinx and Vi were sisters until this came out I mean we had some clues, but never a confirmation And they have been in the game for 8-9 years XD
Regarding Jinx shooting the crow: there is a fan theory (nothing official or confirmed yet) that the crows in the show might be a lot more than they appear to be, and much more sinister as well. Specifically, there is a character/champion in the League of Legends universe (and presumably in the Arcane universe as well) that is heavily associated with crows. And they are involved in Arcane, even tangentially, it's *very* bad news.
@@hanaha6558 He's more associated with ravens. According to closed captioning, the birds around Jinx are crows. So if the birds are related to another Champion, it might be Fiddlesticks.
@@toamszkozak8822 I think in the current LoL lore, he's in Demacia due to the ongoing civil war, but Arcane is sort of the MCU of LoL: the canon is separate, but connected, so who knows where Fiddlesticks might be in the show itself. He's also an ancient demon/evil, so the normal rules of distance may not apply to him. As for the show not including him, that's a good point. Thus far, we haven't really seen much in regards to demons or even much of magic in and of itself, aside from the mage who rescued Jayce and his mother, plus the experiments Viktor is doing on the hexcore. We have magically powered hextech, but not raw magic/spells. Whether that's going to continue to be the case or if they'll start to introduce more fantastical elements like that as the series continues, I have no idea. In any event, it's just a theory. :)
A little fun fact. The actress voicing the brothel owner Babbette was none other than Mira Furlan properly known as Ambassador D'Lenn from Babylon 5. This was her last role before she passed and it's so fitting that she loaned her voice to such an awesome series.
As a League fan, the flip-side is we're constantly going "How the hell do we get from here to League?". Like, obviously Arcane's story takes some liberties, it's its own seperate canon. But there are definitely character beats and events that are too big not to happen, so we're just always thinking about what the connective tissue could possibly be. Kinda like you knew Jinx was a character that existed, so you were watching the first three episodes wondering about how we get from Powder to Jinx.
More than a little to be honest. It's a horrifically toxic, unhealthy relationship that's incredibly destructive. Silco's a trauma victim that, because he never dealt with that trauma in a healthy way, grew to become a victimizer himself and perpetuates that tragic cycle through Powder.
@@troikas3353 In what way he "never dealth with trauma in healthy way"? He is composed man who does not let his past harm his judgement, didn't develop trust issues over betrayal. His only moments of madness occur because he is worried about his daughter. He seems perfectly sane to me and Jinx isn't crazy because of him either, both her BPD and PTSD developed before he adopted her and that without touching her destructive tendencies. Powder was fucked beyond repair from the very beginning. Unless, of course, you are one of hypocrites who consider drugs a healthy way of coping with mental trauma.
@@thewingedone1172 he dealt with the trauma of being betrayed by his “brother” by becoming a cold hearted kingpin who would sacrifice anything, including his own peoples sanity and well being(flooding the lanes with a highly addictive and destructive drug to gain the capital and wealth necessary to bring change) and his own humanity, for a twisted dream of unity. Definitely a super healthy way to deal with his trauma.
season 2 has been officially confirmed to be a continuation of this story line. But if they keep the quality up, there will probably be like 30+ season and covering a great many stories. The League universe is *VAST* and Piltover is one of the less interesting ones.
League of legends cinematics are top tier I would love to see you react to some of them, they are probably the only thing that keeps me coming to League of Legends besides Arcane.
Really, the only difference between game players and newbs for this show was that they knew powder would become Jinx and they know which characters are in the game and thus have plot armor... meaning they pretty much know who can't die. There are some easter eggs planted in the show that only game players will know about, but for the most part they aren't things that are important to the story.
I think they've proven that even characters who "die" can still throw us a curveball and be a champion. (Warwick) so I'm still not 100% sure that ANYONE is safe.
@@lockekappa500 I'm not sure either, since the show isn't necessarily cannon... and even though it's heavily teased, the Warwick thing hasn't happened until it actually happens.
Yeah, it's always funny seeing reactors think Ekko died on the bridge. "Nooo! I loved him!" Bitch, please, Ekko has, like, three plot points that have to be covered before he's in any danger. But after that happens, who knows. Who knows. Honestly, because the show had kids die in the beginning, reactors have been irrationally paranoid of literally anyone dying. Some people think someone is going to die every episode. That's a mark of a good show, that it can keep the suspension of disbelief that high. It's a common fan THEORY that Vander is pre-Warwick, too.... We will see, who knows, who knows....
@@アキコ2003 They can die, but we are discussing plot armor. Anyone CAN die, but why would a writer have Viktor die before his Glorious Evolution? Why would a writer have Ekko die before he invents time travel? Why would a writer have Caitlyn die before she gets promoted to sheriff? What would be the point of writing established IP characters if you didn't use some of their plotlines? Sure, they may die dramatically after that, but even then, it would be only logically in service to the plot. This is hardly the first adaptation in the world ever written. What other franchises do you like?
The ironic thing is that yes, this show is better for non-league fans, mainly for the reasons you mentioned. It's a different angle for us league fans in that we're more wondering how they end up what they are in the game, and the show succeeds in that manner as well.
@@syressx9098 You already know how that story ends. Viktor's fall from grace hits different for many people who don't know about the whole psycho cyborg ending
You are definitely not the first person to compare Jayce to Ironwood. And while we’re comparing this show to RWBY, I’d say this show gives RWBY a run for its money as far as the quality of the insert songs. The full soundtrack is definitely worth a look. Also completely unrelated but the writers have stated that they intentionally animated the Jinx/Silco scenes to make the audience as uncomfortable as possible. So you are definitely not alone.
so it's an interesting point the writers make with this show. there's no labels like gay that exist in runeterra. sexuality is dealt with very differently and more openly by the looks of it. it's very much not the real world which is very nice to see in a fantasy show. I know people keep using the terms we know IRL to kind of explain what they're seeing but it's nice to just let love interests be love interests and not have the show try to quantify or explain them for us and just let them be what they are. cait and vi's very clear interest in one another is done so beautifully without the show having to slap a label on it or even really focus on it heavily at all. it's there and it just feels like it fits and we move on with it as a background support to their dynamic. love it.
i mean yeah, but the world would probably be like that (not caring about labels) in a less judgemental society. so it's not really a world difference, just differences in societal progress.
Yeah, judgement or stigma around dating exists but I think it's more like rooted in classism. "you're really gonna fall for someone as low as the undercity?" "You're really trusting a topsider this much?"
@@nocturnal3427 eh, Piltover and Zaun is an extremely judgemental society, as are Noxus, Demacia, i wanna say even ionia a bit. Their judgement is just not directed at what gender you're into but rather what class you're from (P&Z), if you're capable of magic (demacia), if are you ruthless enough (Noxus), if you are part of the empire that has been trying to invade us last few decades (ionia) Their judgement is just reserved for other things than who you love.
This series is so so good so far-if you get a chance you should react to each character’s appearance in league-i think you’d find most of them amusing 😂
As someone who has followed League lore since very early on, I can say that a good part of what we see in the show was a surprise to follow. We had a good concept of the worldbuilding in general and some idea of where things might have ended up, but even those weren't 100% certain, as a lot of it could have ended up being changed, either by retcons or simply progressing beyond the current lore. I wish everyone could experience the show through both perspectives, but alas, such is human nature.
Good job mate, your reaction videos to Arcane are the best (so far ^^). A few remarks : - When Silco gives Marcus money telling him it's "for the families", you say "sure"... but I don't see any other reason why he would do that. It seems pretty genuine. Silco has a code. - You missed the joke of the old dude in the background. :D - Mel Medarda is one of the most gorgeous female characters ever drawn by anyone, anywhere. - 33:37 A month later, I still can't recover from how sensational the Romance montage is. It's pure, powerful poetry (some parts reminded me of a James Bond opening), with so many layers. What Alexander Temple made for Arcane is equally sensational - That wasn't creepy, that was a baptism. :D - "That episode was DEFINITELY BETTER than 4 !" Whaaa? I mean, probably, yes, but you make it sound like it was easy. Episode 4 is brilliant. I mean, they all are, but the fourth is pretty exciting, with the time jump, etc. - I think going in not knowing SHIT about LoL is better. I mean, LoL fans recognize some characters and parts of the Lore. Then what? All I see is that they're massively spoiled.
Silco's "code" is nothing more than "ends justify means" for whatever his own personal goal happens to be no matter the cost to anyone else. He was pissed at Powder for killing those cops for the same reason any mob boss would be livid if their lieutenant randomly decided to kill half a dozen cops in a super public way during a city wide holiday for no reason. But the moment he finds out he benefited from that he no longer cared. That money was nothing but a pay off. Maybe it finds its way to those families, maybe it doesn't. It's unlikely he cares. All he cares about is that Marcus continues running interference for him.
@@troikas3353 It's less that he saw it benefited him and more than he realised she did it for him. That's what I got out of him averting his eyes from the gem and looking at her again when she hugs him.
@@govind.m86 Those two things are pretty much the same in their relationship as what they have is very transactional. Everything he does with her is aimed at gaining something- be it the crystal, the weapon or just trying to keep her leashed to him because of his own severe abandonment issues. It's never about her between them, it's about what he wants from her and what he gets from her. While it's likely he would not have punished her if the crystal was worthless since he never appears to give her any discipline or boundaries of any kind and simply enables her; He would not have been nearly as happy about it.
Dude I've been a fan of league for 7 years and I've got no idea where this show went, but in a good way, even though they kept the soul of the characters, they told so much about them and how they've been through until the "present" day stage as they're playable. Both Mel and Silco aren't playable on the game, though Silco IS playable on League's Spin-off "Team Fight Tactics", a very minor appearance.
I feel like EVERY reactor failed to realize that the episode starts with the flashback. Is there something about the animation? Like to me Caitlyn clearly looks younger, but maybe I'm an exception and not the rule.
not just the flashback thing but it seems like reactors never notice how young cait is before the timeskip! they’ll ship her with jayce and i’m just like “wtf?? how does that character look of age to you guys?” her size and voice should make it clear she’s a kid if you can’t tell by her looks! idk why it bothers me so much but it does lol
No, I am complaining he gives us schedule so he should be keeping up with it, then what's the point he gave us his plan? Then why not giving us Jojo part 5 last episode of arcane?
I know I'm very late, but just found you. I feel like arcane is for longtimers and new ones like simpsons is for adults and kids, we just appreciate different aspects (and a lot is the same). You put it perfectly.
1:03:00 I'm 100% sure season 2 will keep on with the sister's story and 99% sure it will be introducing a few more characters from the world of Runeterra that haven't been shown yet in the show.
"Separate the politicians for the good people" I see it more as Heimer neglecting/failing his duties. Again. He is not malicious or corrupt, but he is oblivious and and close minded. He lacks both adaptive thinking and an awareness of the city's real status at a given moment. The rest of the council is busy making deals, but all he hears is the sweet music. He's been a leader of this city for its entire 200 year history, and he hears nothing of the actual workings of it anymore. Not the knives being sharpened, not the gears grinding out of sequence, not the gasping of the undercity, and not the bodies hitting the ground. Just the sweet music.
You know, sometimes it might be the last characters you expect that are actually champions. There are like 2/3 that I feel like no would expect it to be and actually are, while some common guesses actually aren't.
One small thing about the universe of runeterra in general. This show so far only talks about Piltover and Zaun, which are my favorite region of runeterra, but there's so much more. Much more still in Piltover and Zaun of course, but even if we saw everything this place has to show, this would be only like 1/8th of the world at most. They just barely told about Noxus in the show, just to let people know it exists, so maybe the want to go to Noxus next, and Noxus lore can easily link to every other region. After all, league has 159 champions, 21 from Piltover and Zaun and Arcane has only 9 so far.
About Lore and "Seeing things coming" I played league from season 1 and followed the lore of some characters very closely. Fair Warning: Don't even accidentally google the pictures of characters from this show, because there's more than just Jinx where league players might have some clues about big things to come. As to how far you want to go into Spoiler town is a question best reviewed after you're done with the season. Really enjoying your reaction. I think you're spot on about Arcane catering to both League players and newcomers to the setting at the same time. As for what you might be missing: The Jinx/Vi connection was basically confirmed through character dialogue in-game (but we're talking about like, 5 sentences that people theorized on for years about) but seeing the actual *REASON* behind it, and the tragedy's somewhat trope-breaking origins, was like a dream come true. There is another character, who I will not name, whose appearance in the show is so unlike their ingame appearance that when the name was dropped it made the show INFINITELY better as well. Maybe this might be a thing for season 2, we'll see. I can say no more.
10:50 actually no, not every person in this intro is a champion (like this Council woman Mel, she is not a champion, in fact she was a character that was created for the show and we never saw her before) , but maybe I will tell you who is a champion after you will finish the season
Personally, I really like the song “Enemies”, but I am biased since I’ve heard the full opening. If I evaluated based on just what you see, I can see why you think it’s good-but-not -great.
list of arcane charecters that arent playable in league: milo clagor(spelling?) vander (though that is gonna be to be seen if he turn out to be warwick in season 2) mel and her mother zawn mafia members sico sevica silcos goons (though in ep8 there is a in game shop item shown in use) grayson marcus sky (the assiastant) 🚩SPOILERS - anothey way to look at it, if a chareter doesnt die by the end, they probobly are playable
I would like to point out that whatever language Jericho speaks, it definitely isn’t the same as what everyone else does (notice how the only other Fishfolk character doesn’t speak at all, I wonder if their mouths can’t produce human languages?); yet Vi has 0 trouble understanding him. So she’s bilingual maybe?? And people act like she’s dumb. She learned at LEAST the basics of a nonhuman language just to get buddy-buddy with a street vendor. Icon behavior tbh, no wonder he’s so happy to see her
Alright. I know you've seen the entire series already but I must say this: Just because they are main characters that doesn't automatically mean they are all from the game. I know you think that way because you know nothing about the game and it's fine. Not your fault. But you gotta also think that some of them are made purely for the show. Maybe some are from existing lore or maybe in the LOL card game Legends Of Runeterra (idk rly), but just not from the game.
Honestly the show is totally decoupled from the game. I've played for like 8 years and there wasn't really any extra appreciation I got from playing it. HOWEVER, I have enjoyed reading league of legends lore (also kind of separate from the game) via Legends of Runeterra. And I would recommend that (stories, comics, etc.) to any Arcane fan.
Being a League player does have its pros and cons. On one hand, like you said, there are many references and easter eggs you wouldn't catch if you weren't one, and also the satisfaction of finally getting a series after many years of cinematics on YT. On the other hand tho, you are heavily backseated on some aspects, like knowing which characters pretty much can't die because you know they're alive in the current lore, or knowing exactly what happens to certain characters (There are two in particular that if you look into their lore, you'll most likely be spoiled for the 2nd season)
here is where the arcane story gets mirky... ingame the only nods to lore are voicelines then there is a bit more in their bio then the full lore is in the league website and or wikipedia arcane uses all of this as a starting point, but they wrote this to fit their own story. it is "semi canon". yes there is stuff that doesn't align with the real canon, for instance, shimmer is never mentioned. jace's and victor's actual stories aren't exsactly how they are in arcane. and events betwen piltower and zawn don't align with the canon lore and arcane's story.

He's trying to find the secret magical hex-clit.
Some things to clarify:
1) Most LoL Players don't know the Lore and you don't need to to watch the series
2) Some parts of the Lore are changed small-heavily in the series
3) If you play LoL you would just know some characters and maybe identify their abilities as something shown in the series - but there are so many more characters which are not in the game with equal "value". In my opinion not knowing LoL is better in this case because you don't expect plot armor around specific people
4) Season 2 will be made but we will have to wait til 2023/24 (first season took 6 years to make)
The Silco/marcus and Vi/caitlyn relationships are both parrellels to Vander and Grayson, undercity and enforcer working together.
The arc for Silco mirrors the arc for Vander in many ways, especially when we get to the end of the season.
I would argue that another aspect of it is how the Enforcers deal with their superiors
Grayson and Vander both wanted to avoid conflict but she had higher ups that she had to answer to and wasn’t willing to engage in the corruption necessary to cover up bigger issues
Marcus participated in that corruption since day one and due to being completely in Silco’s pocket had no choice but to continue to do so if he wanted to keep his job
Caitlin is willing to look her superiors in the eye and tell them to go to hell if she thinks they’re wrong
This is one of my fav episodes bc I’m obsessed with vi & Caitlyn 🥰
Shark: She's baaaack.
Me: From the DEAD??? ...
A small detail I loved this episode that I don't see many talk about is how towards the end of the episode where Jinx is learning the hextech, she has feathers as bookmarks in the notebook. These are probably crow feathers from the same crow she shot earlier in the episode.
You know the funniest shit? We league players didn't know Jinx and Vi were sisters until this came out
I mean we had some clues, but never a confirmation
And they have been in the game for 8-9 years XD
Regarding Jinx shooting the crow: there is a fan theory (nothing official or confirmed yet) that the crows in the show might be a lot more than they appear to be, and much more sinister as well. Specifically, there is a character/champion in the League of Legends universe (and presumably in the Arcane universe as well) that is heavily associated with crows. And they are involved in Arcane, even tangentially, it's *very* bad news.
Swain right?
@@hanaha6558 ya but hes from noxus. Could work though if swain is the one who Mels mom says killed Mels brother
@@hanaha6558 He's more associated with ravens. According to closed captioning, the birds around Jinx are crows.
So if the birds are related to another Champion, it might be Fiddlesticks.
@@Shax22132 but Fiddlesticks is in demacia right? Besides even if he wasn't still I don't see a champion like him in this show
@@toamszkozak8822 I think in the current LoL lore, he's in Demacia due to the ongoing civil war, but Arcane is sort of the MCU of LoL: the canon is separate, but connected, so who knows where Fiddlesticks might be in the show itself.
silco didnt know that vi is still alive, they thought that she died along side them back in ep 3, marcus didnt tell them that vi was in stillwater
A little fun fact.
The actress voicing the brothel owner Babbette was none other than Mira Furlan properly known as Ambassador D'Lenn from Babylon 5. This was her last role before she passed and it's so fitting that she loaned her voice to such an awesome series.
I am WAITING for that Enemy MV reaction, I really hope he does lol
You should watch the Enemy MV in between Ep.6 and Ep.7. There is stuff in the MV that will enhance your experience for Ep.7

@@waterguy1744 yeh, I forget that most reactors are actually a few episodes further than the most recent episode we see on youtube.
@@babette5918 Mhm, Shark pre-recorded Arcane back in November. Quite early I'd say
The creators have stated that you are supposed to be a little uncomfortable with Silco and Jinx's relationship.
More than a little to be honest. It's a horrifically toxic, unhealthy relationship that's incredibly destructive. Silco's a trauma victim that, because he never dealt with that trauma in a healthy way, grew to become a victimizer himself and perpetuates that tragic cycle through Powder.
Good to know. A lot of people shit on others who point out how toxic and weird the relationship is.
@@troikas3353 In the other hand, I love those two so who cares.
Everybody recognizes Imagine Dragons, but nobody does recognize good old Ray Chen...

season 2 has been officially confirmed to be a continuation of this story line.
They are great overall, but I haven't seen ONE that can compete with Arcane.

"Nooo! I loved him!"
Bitch, please, Ekko has, like, three plot points that have to be covered before he's in any danger.
Um.. u know the game is a parallel universe right?? They can die
Of fucking course Shark choose *that* to be a thumbnail.
The ironic thing is that yes, this show is better for non-league fans, mainly for the reasons you mentioned.
It's a different angle for us league fans in that we're more wondering how they end up what they are in the game, and the show succeeds in that manner as well.
Yep.
I think knowing League ruins Viktor's story partially

Little bit of magical info, the Yordle madam was voiced by the late, great Mira Furlan (Delenn from Babylon 5)
Their judgement is just not directed at what gender you're into but rather what class you're from (P&Z), if you're capable of magic (demacia), if are you ruthless enough (Noxus), if you are part of the empire that has been trying to invade us last few decades (ionia)
Their judgement is just reserved for other things than who you love.

This series is so so good so far-if you get a chance you should react to each character’s appearance in league-i think you’d find most of them amusing 😂
27:55 this masked guy has the same voice actor as silco
As someone who has followed League lore since very early on, I can say that a good part of what we see in the show was a surprise to follow. We had a good concept of the worldbuilding in general and some idea of where things might have ended up, but even those weren't 100% certain, as a lot of it could have ended up being changed, either by retcons or simply progressing beyond the current lore.
I wish everyone could experience the show through both perspectives, but alas, such is human nature.
I knew you'd like Cait and Vi together
If you decide to react to the opening song, look for the animated music video on UA-cam. It certainly adds just a little to the main story too.
Good job mate, your reaction videos to Arcane are the best (so far ^^). A few remarks :
- When Silco gives Marcus money telling him it's "for the families", you say "sure"... but I don't see any other reason why he would do that. It seems pretty genuine. Silco has a code.
- You missed the joke of the old dude in the background. :D
- Mel Medarda is one of the most gorgeous female characters ever drawn by anyone, anywhere.
- 33:37 A month later, I still can't recover from how sensational the Romance montage is. It's pure, powerful poetry (some parts reminded me of a James Bond opening), with so many layers. What Alexander Temple made for Arcane is equally sensational
- That wasn't creepy, that was a baptism. :D
- "That episode was DEFINITELY BETTER than 4 !" Whaaa? I mean, probably, yes, but you make it sound like it was easy. Episode 4 is brilliant. I mean, they all are, but the fourth is pretty exciting, with the time jump, etc.
- I think going in not knowing SHIT about LoL is better. I mean, LoL fans recognize some characters and parts of the Lore. Then what? All I see is that they're massively spoiled.
The creators said we're supposed to feel uncomfortable about the silco and jinx "scenes"
His calls are insane dude

Both Mel and Silco aren't playable on the game, though Silco IS playable on League's Spin-off "Team Fight Tactics", a very minor appearance.
I feel like EVERY reactor failed to realize that the episode starts with the flashback. Is there something about the animation? Like to me Caitlyn clearly looks younger, but maybe I'm an exception and not the rule.
I doubt any reactor did not think it was flashback by the end of the scene, as you said its pretty obvious, Shark just did'nt remark it...

I played league from season 1 and followed the lore of some characters very closely.

Being a League player does have its pros and cons. On one hand, like you said, there are many references and easter eggs you wouldn't catch if you weren't one, and also the satisfaction of finally getting a series after many years of cinematics on YT. On the other hand tho, you are heavily backseated on some aspects, like knowing which characters pretty much can't die because you know they're alive in the current lore, or knowing exactly what happens to certain characters (There are two in particular that if you look into their lore, you'll most likely be spoiled for the 2nd season)

then there is a bit more in their bio

arcane uses all of this as a starting point, but they wrote this to fit their own story. it is "semi canon". yes there is stuff that doesn't align with the real canon, for instance, shimmer is never mentioned. jace's and victor's actual stories aren't exsactly how they are in arcane. and events betwen piltower and zawn don't align with the canon lore and arcane's story.
