Wore a pategonia down sweater for about 20 years. zippers failed, seems tore in a couple places. Minor damage really after 20 years. Walked into my local Pategonia store: "just go grab another. make sure you pick the right size for you now if that has changed." That. Is why you don't care about the price on Patagonia. Literally a lifetime of use. I'll never stop wearing it.

Patagonia have already repaired a T shirt twice. Postage paid.
Similar. I have the original year one down sweater, wear it daily. Patagonia has repaired it 2x for free and it was all user error. Now it is wearing out at seams but I may patch it or see if they can. Great products and outstanding company.
I have a bunch of jackets and this is my most versatile one that I own. So good for traveling!

All I needed was this, a merino wool SS T base, and merino wool LS mid layer. That setup seems good down to about 20F as long as I kept moving.

What shorts you rocking? Looking for a good flexible short inseam hiking short. Have the Ferrosis but they pill like crazy
These are the flint and tinder shorts. I got them from huckberry.com. They are great shorts and is done shorter hikes With them but I usually wear running shorts while hiking.

I wish I could edit a video on UA-cam but I can’t unfortunately… it just has a coating to resist some water. I wouldn’t wear it in the rain though.
New products might have quality control issues. I got myself one in January, and stitches started falling apart in a week. I also got 2 merino t-shirts. After a couple of months of use, they began forming holes. I hand washed and followed care instructions. It’s a shame. I still like Patagonia, but will only buy secondhand from now. Social and environmental footprint, quality and durability are my biggest consideration when I buy products.

Moths can be a problem with merino. Can’t see them. I have anti moth cedar mini blocks in my drawers to keep them at bay.

Are they water and wind proof? I heard they are just water resistant? If so that’s a bit of a disappointment.
Not waterproof. You should put a rain shell over it if you’re trying to go full waterproof, but that’s not the intention of this jacket.
