One of the beauties of Rammstein is the ambiguous lyrics. (In interviews Till said that he wrote them like this because in the DDR they learnt to be very non-direct about meanings in order to avoid censorship). My personal opinion about this one is that the inspiration is a well known cautionary tale. But they turn it into thinking about impulse control OR regret about taking a risk that didn't pay off OR wondering why reaching for the thing you think you want can hurt you. So..yes I'm not completely decided on the lyrics myself 😂. But it's an amazing song and I really appreciate Till's vocal performance in it as well.

One of Rammstein's best songs ever, it's a shame it's never been played live. So oppressive, depressing lyrics, typical Rammstein, both musically and lyrically. How Till uses the vocal color with this depressing text, especially in the 2nd part of the song: " Oh no, the flame touches my dress, My jacket burns, it glows far My hand burns, my hair burns in fact my whole body is burning" and then this cry: "HELP ME!!!!!!" A MASTERPIECE😍😍😍 The song is based on a story called "Die gar traurige Geschichte mit dem Feuerzeug".
Awesome video my friend :) Rosenrot the album has a special place in my heart, its so moody and heavy. It has probably my favourite drum and guitar sound of all Rammstein albums. This song is super cool, the groove man! And the atmosphere, all those small Flake bits in the background. Tills performance is stellar too. Also again i am super grateful for this format, it lets the songs breathe a lot more when you don't watch a fan made overloaded video :) Only gripe i have now is that this video itself was a bit too compressed sound wise. I recommend just using the official rammstein songs from their channel ( as long as copyright is fine, you know that better than me). Or maybe it's your export settings actually. Anyway, should be easy to fix.
5:04 - Yeah. "The fire loves me" because the fire is beautiful and looks like a toy to the main character, a child. "The fire loves me not" when Till yells this line - because the fire is actually very dangerous and causes a lot of pain to the child. Thanks for the reaction. I love this song so much. Yep I found the sound wasn’t loud enough but that’s always the case with my boys 😂😂
That came from their official page. I think it lost something in the up load. I'll see if I can adjust somethings on my end to minimize.
