Thank you! I hadn't even realized how long I'd been away - I've been working away on a few things that haven't been released yet (but will be doing so soon!)
I'm all good! Took a bit of time off at the end of the year to fulfill some sound design commissions and another thing you'll find out about in the next week or so!
Hi OS, I love your channel! Here’s my personal experience: After hearing so much hype about the Chroma Console, I decided to get one myself, but honestly, I was disappointed. As you demonstrate in your video at 05:09, saturation should add character without boosting volume. The sound should feel richer and more textured, but stay at the same perceived loudness. Unfortunately, this was just one of several issues I had with it. In the end, I didn’t use the effect for even a single day and ended up giving it away.
Another great video, Mr Sink. I would really like to see what you could do with Mr Magpie's Round Robin. That thing is fantastic for Drones for the same reasons as the Chroma Console. You can record modulations the same way on virtually all the parameters.
@@bananaghost427 I have a Magpie thing that will be featured in my next video for reasons that will apparent soon - but not that. I should have another look at it.
Beautiful pairing. Which is, I think where we are at in these post-boutique synth days. The golden secret to finding “your sound.” Is about pairings. (And by extension treble or quad pairings).
Yes !I have expression ramper ×3 connected with Nightsky, meris polymoon and Microcosm, great movement.. Thanks a lot for all your videos in these years, great inspiration for me in my darkest Times. Thanks❤
Have you looked at the Chase Bliss Generation Loss MK2? That I think would be right up your street. About £350 second hand and will lofi the hell out of a drone sound
But since we all GASeously own way more than one pedal you can rebuild your own Chroma Console with your existing individual pedals , combine that with a flock audio patchbay and you can digitally change the effects order as well 😂
@ as if we don‘t have already 😉 the problem would be cable lenghts going to and from the patchbay add up and diminish the sound and may introduce hum??
@@gabrielreinert8458 keep patch cables short and use appropriate buffering is the usual advice with switching systems (when it comes to the world of guitars at least).
To be Frank: I am not too impressed. I only haar existing treatments, most of them distortion and delay based, combined with vague terminology, put into a compact formfactor, the latter being its only true strength. But if that tickels your fancy ….
@@OscillatorSink I’d sooner pronounce it as “tehmbrally” with a soft e as in “them” and “gemstone” but the difference is subtle and I am only teasing a bit. Furthermore I am Dutch. So what do I know? 😂
They push this pedal so hard, every UA-camr either has it in their setup or has reviewed it. The form factor is great, but that’s about it. None of the sounds that come out of this thing strike me as original or even interesting.
Great to have you back OS 🙏🏻 hope all’s well with you and yours ❤️

@@OscillatorSinkA great 2025 t o you. Hopefully in that « to be released » list, we will see something about « The PE Synth » 😉
Ah man, this is some great great content!
Hey, thanks!

@ happy to hear it!
Thank you Mr. Oscillator Sink for selling the Chroma Console to me in like 10 minutes. 😂 Yet another piece of gear I really really need.

Great lesson!😊What do you think about obne expression ramper ?
@@mauroborra1089 I hadn't heard of it before. Looks interesting. I wondering about what I have that would work well with it.

I've looked at, and lusted after almost everything they do. In a world of infinite money I'd own almost everything they make!
£350 second hand? They're only marginally more than that new.
