I own the CD, but somehow I just keep on listening to Marion's song on UA-cam. It feels different. Haha. I love this song. I perfectly understand that some fans might not like this song much because it is different from her rock songs, but sometimes when I feel the need to switch to a more relaxed music, In Spite of Me is just the kind. :)

it was her. she kind of got drunk and cheated on him. obviously her boyfriend was very nice to her...so she was sad and regretful... im not being very expressive
this reminds me of so many sad fics that i have read, and although i have never really fallen in love, i still feel emotional and even cry when i listen to this song. all of her songs are very inspirational, and although she is not the best vocalist, she still has a beautiful voice, just needs a little more technique

the point is really not about her cheating, but about how her lover has "accepted her inspite of her", of however bad she is. u can tell she didnt mean to cheat on him. i don't like much too but the music is still very good, and she never really performs the rock songs, always the acoustic version. whatever it is, i need her to come back with an album right now!!

I know the song on this album are inspired by Marion's bad past relationships (as she stated), but I wonder, who is she referring to in this song? the person that cheated was her , or the one she dated? It's a bit unclear, can someone explain to me? Thanks

I like Marion very much, she is the reason I started learning Norwegian. But I don't like the fact she is becoming sort of a "bad girl". Things went sour after she met Nicky Sixx and "Some heads will roll" video stands as proof. I love rock music but I don't think it suits her. As for getting drunk and cheating on someone like that... I wouldn't sing about it, but that's her choice.

Hi! If it's the rumor about betraying Marit for fame/money or the M2M breakup, then that rumor is completely false. The news media took advantage of young Marion when she was doing interviews and twisted and misinterpret her words to make them as worst as possible for their own benefit. Marion talks about it in a Norwegian interview in 2016, thinking from the top of my head. :)
