I have been using KT150's as power tubes, bought from a UK seller, in my Elise for the last month and they sound gorgeous, better than any other power tube I've heard in Elise except perhaps for the the KT120, but those have a different sound signature. Both are better to my ears in Elise than the much vaunted KT88, using HD800.
I would never buy from Kevin/Upscale Audio again. I bought a pair of "matched" EH 6CA7 to find a 20% plate dissipation difference. Unacceptable for a PP application. Swapped them out for an eBay pair, no more hum.
I love you man you're the most honest seller I have ever met in my life you're knowledge about tubes and audio electronics is so good I'm telling you that as a guy who was 👨🎓 electronics an as a guy who is musician and who built his own guitar amplifier. All the best from Poland
When you say " "no other tube seller is doing this attention to detail", I ask the question, "Have you visited and contacted every other tube seller in world to check?" because if you haven't you are spouting BS. In the UK The Advertising standards Committee would be knocking on your door to call you out on claims like that. Its a nice ploy to justify your prices though, but most will see through it. This is fairly standard practice to make such wildly absurd claims, you wouldn't last 5 mins in the UK.
Interesting Comments There are UK HIFI sellers in the UK making stupid statements with regard to Naim power cords with their fancy 13 amp plugs and I E C connector on the other end of the cable and asking in one case £600 You can go on line and bye the same thing with out branded Naim on it for £5. one ebay seller is asking £80 for a 13 amp plug because it has Naim stamped on it and you can go into Pound Stretcher and bye a 13 amp plug for £2 .
I have a Yaqin MC-100b integrated tube amplifier with KT88 tubes. Can i get KT120 tubes to replace them and if so should i? would i get more power? Is this advisable? and lastly, how much would 4 KT120 tubes cost me from you?
I just received 8 matched KT150 tubes from Uncle Kevin for my ARC Ref 110 this week. I've tried Winged C 6550's, KT120s, and find the KT150's sound bigger and more authoritative. Kevin is 100% correct about buying tubes elsewhere. I bought my first set of "matched" KT150's from another seller. After a couple hundred hours of use, I couldn't can't get the tubes to bias correctly any longer as the values have drifted. Those tubes would be OK in a different amp that has individual tube bias settings, but not my Ref 110. ARC guys shouldn't shop anywhere else except Upscale Audio.
Hi Kevin. I am in Ghana West Africa. Been watching you on UA-cam and you got me interested in the Prima Luna integrated amps. Been using a Caver amp with a Klipsh LaScala with a Velodyne sub woofers. Have to say you got me interested but l have to make a decision.
If it "works", the Russians will ship it. And "works" is a rather loose definition of what they'll ship. I recently got a new 12AX7, Mullard reissue, which has so much measured gain it's crazy. On my tube tester, a value of 20 is typical. 40 is as high a transconductance value as I normally find. This one...62 on one side. It's got so much gain that I can make you think your amp has several problems just by putting in your amp. The amp will simply misbehave. I want a KT150 just for display purposes. Not to run it.
Most tubes guys said over and over again about not touching tubes with bare hands but Kevin, you and the working guys behind you both didn’t ware any gloves.🤦🏻♂️
I always wipe the glass after touching tubes to remove any grease but it is not necessary, the reason it is important with car headlight bulbs is because they get so hot with thin glass and the oil from your hands could create a spot hot enough to make bubbles in the glass and eventually break. Vacuum tubes have thicker glass and run much cooler so no worries.
He is saying do not trust the manufacturer and trust me and for that I will sell you the tube for higher the price. Buy cheap tubes and brand them upscal and sell them.

It’s probably because they’re one of the most powerful tubes for audio if not already.
I bought mine of Ebay a year ago and still run great.
Primaluna owners group Facebook , wow 😮 a whole year. I bet Kelvin’s would last 5 years or more
What a great attitude. Thanks 🇨🇦
I wish we had you in Europe!
Did that tube that was rolling around on that test table roll of and hit the floor?
I didn't hear it hit the floor.
Who has the Actual TUBEAMP plate in Cali? Kevin Master of tubes had to settle for TOOBAMP? ;)
Nice Panerai. Kevin loves his Italian toys.
How Much Does KT 66, KT88, KT 120, KT 150 COST ? ALSO DO YOU HAVE MARLARD AND PHILLIPS VALVES ?
Disappointing to see you guys don't ship internationally anymore :( you guys seem totally dedicated.
Why hasn't PrimaLuna ever manufactured a stand alone tube headphone amp?
It seems like their is starting to be a market for that kind of amp.
Woo Audio makes tube headphone amps that are made in USA. I've had a WA6 for 3yrs no problems.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... KT170 Tubes!
At time of me liking your comment, i do believe they are now releasing KT370 👀
@@xzing7 Old news, the KT740 is coming out next year now.
I would never buy from Kevin/Upscale Audio again. I bought a pair of "matched" EH 6CA7 to find a 20% plate dissipation difference. Unacceptable for a PP application. Swapped them out for an eBay pair, no more hum.
Kevin can you or should you run the kt150's in a jolida 302 crc?
Why bother with them at all? Sounds like a headache.
Ha! Many of the best things in life can elicit the same question.

I've found this language to be the standard with US retailers.

But does the 150 sound good? Is it worth the hassle?
cosmo naut no kt120 is big enough

Watch this :-) ua-cam.com/video/XmKAClG4A9Y/v-deo.html
The upgrade from AR Ref 150 to SE includes some necessary parts beside the KT150 tubes. What do you think about a only KT150 tube upgrade?
I just received 8 matched KT150 tubes from Uncle Kevin for my ARC Ref 110 this week. I've tried Winged C 6550's, KT120s, and find the KT150's sound bigger and more authoritative.

My next tube purchase will be with you guys..
Do you do this for the kt120s?
Interesting they don't appear to be sellers of some of the more prominent tube equipment manufacturers' gear.

He has gloves on.
Should he really be putting his grimey hands all over that tube?

No oil on tubes....even Kevin's....but, they are still the best KT 150's....period....
oily fingers do not have any impact on tubes.
No gloves and the working guy wipe his head sweats with his hands without gloves? 🤦🏻♂️
Do Russian Made Tung-sol KT-150 " Super Annoyed Tung-Sol Military Grade Tubes " Under Made In Russia.........?
ok
DOES THIS GUY DO VOICE OVERS FOR DONALD DUCK IN HIS SPARE TIME
Get a life
True
Gee. He has to work to sell tubes.
lol. "man, you are on crack!"
Old crack :-)
It is cool stuff, but you raise the price on 100%. I feel not comfortable with such costs.
You definitely do not have anywhere close to the largest inventory. In North America. So that's a bold lie
He is saying do not trust the manufacturer and trust me and for that I will sell you the tube for higher the price.
Buy cheap tubes and brand them upscal and sell them.
I feel tired listening at that...
Goodnight
Nagging as a sales tactic. Should've called the company Annoyed Audio =)
