I love hearing Sinead O’Connor sing Irish music. The purity of her voice, and her willingness to completely immerse herself in the emotions of a song, make her one of my all time favourites. I wish her all the Peace she couldn’t find here, and that she be surrounded by the Love that heals us all. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.🕊️🦢👼🏻🫶🏼

Life lessons come to you in many places. Stay aware, because there is a lot of love and knowledge to be had, to pick up and carry with you. If you have not read it, pick up a copy of "The Little Prince". if you love this song, I think that children's story will resonate with you. Bless you!

Well, Sinead was a great artist with a deep, honest, caring soul. But like many openminded, warm Whites, she fell for the rootlessness that infringed our sense of identity. Her passing and late suffering is a result of the lack of belonging while chasing for "individual freedom", which is actually isolation from who we are as part of our people, family and heritage.

I'm 66 now and my body bears the musical scars & wounds of my guitar . They are the metals of my musical life, which i continue to wear to this day.
When i heard of the passing of my beloved sister in pain and fellow artist SINEAD, i found that it's going take time process for me. I've suffered a spiritual blow & I cannot cry. Oh how I wish i'd seen her live, just to dive into her eyes or anxiously wait for her infectious smile.

To see if she'd take pity on me
    Lest I might go away
She said, "I love that Irish lad
And he was my only joy
And ever since I saw his face
    I've loved that soldier boy."
Perhaps your soldier lad is lost
Sailing over the sea of Maine
Or perhaps he is gone with some other lover
You may never see him again
Well if my Irish lad is lost
He's the one I do adore
And seven years I will wait for him
By the banks of the Moorlough Shore
    Farewell to Sinclaire's castle grand
    Farewell to the foggy hill
Where the linen waves like bleach-ed silk
And the banching stream runs still
Near there I spent my youthful days
But alas they are not now mine
    For cruelty has banished me
Far away from the Moorlough Shore

I've been listening to Sinead a lot these last few days since she left us - particularly The Foggy Dew with the Chieftains. This is almost the same tune - I suppose quite a few folk songs have different lyrics to the same melody. Whatever she sang it was beautiful.😪

Well tonight i have had a night dedicated to a beautiful woman. Watching tv interviews and duets with fellow musicians. I have shed many a tear at the loss of such a talented woman. I hope she is at peace with her mother and son. RIP

It was with the lion and the cobra LP I fell in love with her amazing talent but more so with what she was. As girl back in the 90’ s, a teenager, she represented all I wanted to embrace: authenticity, honesty, integrity, against all cliches and, most importantly, against what the main Stream wanted us to be, and what it wanted us to believe. I saw in her rebellious nature my rebellious nature. I am so so sad she is no longer here to keep us grounded with their music and her spirited , brilliant intelligence. But I was lucky enough to have known such tremendous talent.

Sinead is an amazing human being. She feels with every ounce of her being and she funnels that into every song she writes and sings. I see you commented 2 years ago. I hope you've heard more of her music by now and have grown to love her even more. I have followed her since her beginning in music and I love her and appreciate her so very much. She is one of a kind.

Sinead o connor was not misunderstood, She was spot on about all she said about Establishments ,the powers that be understood well enough, her truths shone a light on an irish society that was uncomfortable for them. They tried to silence her with all sorts of Labels. Her music is amazing, but her humanity and honesty and her braveness to be so open were her real strenghts.Ireland has lost a true warrior. 😢RIP Sinead

It is so hard to comprehend that she's not here any more. But her etherial voice lives on forever and will be with me until I won't be here either. She will live on though way after that event. She is imo so much an Irish performer and always will be. From a close Celtic relative just across the water. Beautiful.

Well she does have a lot of music videos with close headshots that could be considered her gimmick, but overall I think she is a great singer

    • @thewoofamily8951
      @thewoofamily8951 6 років тому +7

I don't think close headshots are a 'gimmick,' though. She is very beautiful. Have you ever seen her with her natural long hair? She's lovely. Yes, her facial features are gorgeous...video directors tend to do close shots because she emotes a lot with her facial expressions and huge beautiful eyes, and she doesn't do 'sexy' outfits or dances. It's just her clear, gorgeous voice and beautiful face singing sweetly and fiercely.

But of course she wrote and sang so many other GREAT, own! composed, witnessed and suffered, beautiful songs, which told us about her tragic Life❣️💔❤️ May God rest her beautiful soul in Eternal Heavenly Peace! 🙏💖 And her beloved son ❤ and all her beloved children here... Sinéad will live on forever!!! ✨🌌💖
