- Diy miniature canoe! The materials that you need for this little project include: craft sticks, clear silicone, clippers, all purpose crazy glue, retractable knife, a small piece of rust resistant galvanized wire.

Helpful, unlike some other craft videos
I think we get the general idea of how you put the wire through in and out of the ends, but it would have been nice if you got someone to help you with camera roll so we can see every move you make. Otherwise, you did a great job even if there were minor mistakes made. And also, you replied on one of the comments and mentioned that you didn’t need to soak the sticks for easier bending because you have experience to go without doing so. Well, on my point of view, I think it would have been good for many of us to watch you soak them in water first. There could be some people that are just beginners and that kind of tip would have helped. Thanks for sharing and best wishes to all your endeavours as you move on to do other exciting crafts.

very nice. I would have used thinner, more pliable wire to just give the impression of lacing it together.
I tried this was super glue and wood glue. The first two times were hopeless but the 3rd time was successful (3rd times the charm). Wood glue has to be reapplied and dried a lot so it takes about the same amount of time as the paperclip bondage. It was a lot of fun and i would recommend. P.S. you will probably get a lot of super glue on ur fingers if u aren't careful... my hands are covered XD THX!!!

There is a better way to bend any kind of wood, put it in hot water for some time it'll become soft so you can keep it turned untill it's dry and it will stay

Thanks for your interest Muni Ng. I soaked the sticks in water for a few minutes then they became more flexible and were easier to form. Based on my experience, I didn't feel the need to boil them :-)

muni Ng you can boil the sticks and then sheap them, then use a dryer, and the sticks will get the bending form

how big was your boat after it was done? and how big were your popsicle sticks?
Hi Peng, the sticks are a quarter of an inch wide and the boat is 7 inches long x 2 inches wide.
i need to make a canoe that is 10-12 inches long and about 3 or 4 inches wide. may you please help mr on how i should make it and the material that i will need?
Hi Peng, the sticks that I used were about 7" long, so you could glue two sticks together to make it longer. I believe the bigger the boat, the easier to make because the hardest part is bending the sticks. As long as the boat you want to make is not too big or too small compared to the one I've made, the idea is very similar. In addition, if you have marine glue for wood, it will be even easier because you don't have to use wire to hold each side of the boat together because the glue is good enough for the job. I hope you find success making one. All I needed were a scissors, super glue, a pencil, paper clippers, and stir sticks (popsicle stick). If you make a 12" boat, I believe super glue is enough because it's cheap. However, make sure to apply a lot of glue. Thanks.
