    I have about 6,000 miles of off-road fun, and enduro/hare scramble racing use on my Tubliss front and rear. 2015 KTM 300 w/6500 miles racked up on this system. I had finished a moto on the podium with a flat where the system keeps the tire on the rime plus it adds structural integrity to the sidewall of the tire. I like to run 8 in the front and 4-8 in the rear depending on the level gnar gnar. Beefy sidewall tires with a soft crown is a good matchup with this system. The tubeless system eliminates rotating mass, promotes traction, tires last longer, and changing tires is a snap with 4-irons and a Nomar Spoon Bar. Shazam! Follow the directions with the 20:1 dish soap, its key to having no issues. Add Slime After-after if you wish (w/shrader valve at TDC so soap doesn’t gush). As for maintenance I’ve changed the inner tube core a few times during tire change intervals after 3-4 sets of tires. $10 for replacement core, EZPZ. Also, recently my buddy made it home 17 miles during a New England Turkey with rear tubeless. He made it and the rim was fine. A-Senior OG passing the word...

    My thoughts based on my experience racing, trail ridding and being a shop owner. 1 HD tubes do little for pinch Flatts. They do help a little for punctures. Tube saddles help a little with pinch flats but not enough to get down to the 5 psi range where lots of tires work best. Bibs offer crappy traction and feel but are the way to go for racing at a high level. Tublis is the best option for most riders with the most benefits.

      I've run a bridgestone ultra hd tube for decades, never a pinch flat and I run low pressure and just smash rocks at speed all the time.

    cheapest way is to double tube, cut the old tube open and fit the new tube inside the old one.... works great.

      I doubt it, that's like saying wearing 2 sets of dishwashing gloves with prevent you from getting injured chopping vegetables, if the knife slips, it will cut you both ways!

      I raced pro national mx back in the 80's and at the rock infested Broome Tioga track , the Dunlop tire rep told me to cut open a tube and use it for an insert just as you described . I still use the method 40yrs later on my DRZ400 . 👌 But .... I do proceed at a much reduced rate these days

    Tubeliss is cool I have three on rear wheels but I still like tubes I patch them it’s quick and easy and you can’t tear off a patch if done right we save tubes then when we have 8 or so on a rainy day me and my son patch em

    I’ve been super lucky been riding for over 15 years or more and have only had one flat and didn’t even notice till after the moto. But now I want mental security that I have tires that won’t ever go flat lol someone needs to invent the indestructible Tubeless tire

    Well l must say l have been running Bridgestone ultra heavy duty tube's for at least 15 year's and have had one puncture (sharp shale and Rock) l ride hard enduro with the odd extreme sections l use to run mx tires at 11 psi and over the years have progressively lowered my pressure's and now run gummy tires (birdgestone 50 E) l now run 3 to 4 psi constantly over a variety of terrain l now have so much traction l have had to change the way l ride ie stop looking at it and just hit it and know you can climb it or get over it ie big wet logs or big wet rocks the ultra tube is not cheap but they give good feedback and last ,easy to fit and patch if needed and if you run gummy tires they are easy enough to change them with your boots and hands this does take practice but is doable if you don't like to or can't fix a flat tire and think moose or tubeless are a magic fix and you won't get a flat or have a problem then you should probably take up another sport

    With the Nuetech system, do you run Stans sealant or similar? Similar to mountain bike tubeless set ups.

    I run oem tubes at 7 psi rear
    Shinko 525 cheater 19 inch wheel.
    10 psi up front shinko mx216 fatty.
    We don't have alot if square edge rocks here.

    So punctures are unavoidable unless you have foam? It seems like every 2-3 rides I get a flat while out idk if they are pinch flats or if they are punctures but man it’s super annoying and ends up drawing the day way out when trying to do just a few hour ride.. I’m in Haiti so very hot conditions all the time and some street riding between trails often which prob builds up more heat. What do you think my best option is?

    I use Tubliss with an undersized Mousse insert (110 insert, 120+ tire), great traction, stable sidewall, flat proof, and can still adjust pressure to a degree. I use it with gummy tires that are prone to fail with Tubliss setups. Best of all worlds, and the Mousse will last longer because of no fouling from bead separation and more support.

    am I the only one that runs my rear tires at 5psi with regular tubes? I have never dented a rim or got a pinch flat with 5psi in the stock tubes

    How about tire liners like the bicycle guys use on their dirt bicycles? The go in between the tube and the tire, resists thorns etc.

    What would you recommend for a 2020 Africa Twin that's going to be used on and off road? I like the look of the Moose but 13psi is very low - my tyres are supposed to be run around 32psi. What's going to give me decent handling as well as stop me from having punctures on & off road?

      Mousses and Tubliss systems aren't designed to handle the heat of high speeds on the road. For an Africa Twin or other big ADV bike that uses a tube type tire, your best bet is to use Heavy Duty tubes and some nice rubber that handles on and off-road equally well. If you find yourself in a tricky off-road situation, you can still air down for more traction, but obviously you'll want to bump the psi back up before running down the highway.

    What do I do about punctures? I have a crf230l I use to commute everyday, I also like to take it off-road to the ocean to fish after work. The problem is that here in Hawaii there are keawe trees with thorns down by the ocean. What should I do? I commute about 60 miles a day and I don’t air down to go off-road. Last time I went I had about 30 thorns in both my tires. Only 3 punctured through tho. Should I go tubless with the silicone method?

    I have been running Tubliss for a year now the front tire on my KTM took 4 tubes before we got it to not have a pinch flat. I took it to the preferred install facility and they said never come back. The rear tire is a cake walk. Think the big issue is the rim width.

      Yes. ...but, they're a little higher maintenance. If you're a lazy mechanic, they may not be cost effective. If you stay on top of them, they can save a lot of money longer term.

      Neither the Tubliss or Nitro Mousse are recommended for use on the highway or else they would be great options. Do you run heavy duty or ultra heavy duty tubes now?

      Unfortunately, the tubliss system is designed for off-road riding and is not DOT rated. I have heard of people running them on roads for short periods of time but the main benefit of running the tubliss system is being able to run low pressures for more traction off-road so you wouldn't see many benefits on the street.

    I rode my tubliss with a flat rear tire and the tube wore through the red outer part and was down to the cords. It's destroyed.

      The Nuetech Tubliss System is only available in these sizes through us. 18", 19" and 21". I'm showing that your 14' DR650SE comes with a 17" rear rim. So you would be able to do a front, but not a rear.

      @@johnnytest55 Tubliss doesn't plan on it. They aren't DOT rated and they don't want people riding on the street with them for liability reasons.
      People who do run them on the street haven't had issues from what I've heard. You can swap the rear for a 18" rim from a DR350 or a new wheel and run it. That's my plan.

      the tube saddle and tubliss would work fine at highway speeds. The mousse does have a speed rating of 80 MPH and 20 MPH and hard surfaces i.e. rocks etc.. so even with one of those you'd be fine.

      @@chasetherippa Just remember that the faster you go on a Mousse the more heat it generates. Same as running low pressure at speed on a tube.

      No TUBliss is not DOT approved but I run them on the road, do you worry about those things? Bib's though are different they will break down when they get supper hot. Lube is your friend with Bib's and that is something they didn't tell you, special lube you use to coat the bibs, I heard the process is messy. Also as they break down they shrink, you can take older sets and use them to cut pieces from and stuff in to give you more life.

      So easy one stem is a rim lock that inflates the tire (14 psi) the other stem is for the inner bladder sealing the bead (100 psi) that’s it

    Im sure theyre great for pros with unlimited budgets that are looking to gain seconds. Fot the average trail rider, buy a heavy duty tube, put 15psi in it and just like magic, no more pinch flats for $20.

    I have heard that the Nuetech Tubliss Gen2 has a very limited lifespan?! Of course if it had a long lifespan, all of us Dual Sport guys who run in rough areas would be all over this! Can you confirm lifespan issues?

      We've talked with Nuetech Tubliss Systems and they said that they've had them on their bikes for 10 years. As long as you stay up on your regular maintenance for example checking your psi they should last as long as you own the bike.

      Wow, that is quite stunning! I'd love to test this on my XR675L (modded XR650L) with CRF450 inverted front forks, both front & rear sprung & valved for aggressive riding style.       I got 50,000 miles out of my TUBliss on the XR650R, that was for the front, I got a lot more out of the rear, 100K or so on the red liner.

    Just install the mousse and be done with it. I can't imagine going to any other system since I switched to nitro mousse 2 years ago. And still running the originals. If anything they are softer now and I like them even more. The tire you install really dictates the performance.

      @@rmatvmc shinko 216MX 90/90 is my go to front and the back changes alot but the Perelli scorpion MX32 work well on the Rocky terrain of Nova Scotia Canada. Husqy Fx350. Lots of uncharted land here.

      @@georgeafg9252 not rated for street riding and I wouldn't trust them at highway speeds. Even though I do about 150km/hr regularly on ice with them. And by softer I mean they do soften up a bit more once you have around 5 hours on them. Mostly because they've formed to the wheel.

    3mm tubes man ,no flats for 2 years flat out through state forestry ,12psi rear 14psi front ,tubless is for first and second gear single trail and rock hopping

      it is about your ability to control the bike, more weight on the bike mean more traction, but less ability to lift the bike using weighting and deweighting technique

      when your wheels spin, it creates gyroscopic force, more spinning weight the more force, it makes the bike harder to turn

      Harder for your bike to accelerate and brake. And I’m pretty sure you can feel the difference when turning the bike.

      Heavier tires/wheels mean more UN-sprung weight for the forks and shocks to have to control - this is bad - so handling often gets sluggish.

      They don't carry them in stock. Plus they are way more expensive than tubliss or a mousse.

      Yep, I looked into them, they are crazy priced and I don't see the benefit with them you can still pop a ball or two. I guess the point would be you still have some int here to keep you running. Bib's or TUBliss is the way to go, I run TUBliss and I been very happy.

    The only real way to solve the flat tire problem is for manufacturers to use tubeless tires on tubeless wheels, and put Ride-On in them.

      @@chadrides914 It has worked for me for about 20 years. I tried Ride-On when it first came out. I saw them drill holes in tires, and they didn't leak. I have never had a flat with a tubeless tire with Ride-On in it in over 250,000 miles. I was constantly having flats with tube type tires.

      @@chadrides914 I'm talking about street bike tires. A flat on a dirt bike is no big deal if you have a truck or trailer nearby. But a flat on a large heavy street bike with tube type tires requires a tow truck, and they are not cheap. Tubeless tires are a lot less likely to have a flat in the first place, and when they do, 98% of the time they can be fixed beside the road without removing the wheel and tire.
