Mr. Brotherson, I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your videos and your representation of the UTAH approach to outdoor recreation. Thank you!
Tip: you struggled to get the last little bit of the bead over the rim right? At the end of spooning on your tire, put one spoon at the struggle point while you work the tire around. This spoon will be in place so you don't need to push the spoon between the tire and rim. It makes for a much easier finish.
These r the kind of tips that make stuff like this great. Awesome idea and will do for sure. Something so simple and great. Like why didnt I think of that. Haha.
it was where the rim lock was. my tip for that situation would be to undo your bead lock some more, and use the tyre spoon to push the bead lock in and the tyre just falls in to the right place.
And not one obscenity spoken! I've never installed a dirt bike tire without excessive amounts of loud swearing. My tubliss and new meats arrived a couple days ago. This video is my inspiration that the process is possible without recurring obscenities. I appreciate your quality advice and real guy presence.
It so funny literally I was like lemme sit down for a few minutes and watch some Dirt Bike Channel and then bang I click down on my laptop and I've been sat here a whole 30 minutes. Kyle you should definitely consider allowing sweepstakes to send to other countries such as UK and Europe and then have the winner pay for the shipping if they want to or then re-sweepstake the bike to a second winner. I don't know how many other people would also be interested, but I would definitely be interested in this.
Thank you for making this video. I installed my tubliss rear and IRC VE33S tonight. The instructions that come with the kit are helpful, but your video really made this an easy process. I’m looking forward to getting out in the woods and giving this a try. Thanks again.
I watched this video 3-4 times....read some other articles, watch the tubliss videos. In the end, I followed this video, on the front I drilled the hole at the 4rth spoke, in the rear it already had 3 factory holes, I said no way am I drilling a 4rth. It worked out just fine. These instructions are spot on. THe tape comes with new instructions saying to wrap 3 times. I used fake Armor All from Dollar General, worked fine. Bottom line, I learned a new easy way to mount tires, I always struggled and busted my knuckles and tore the beads before. This just worked. Tubliss is best, most solid system I have tried. I previously used 3M tape, Flex Seal, and had very mixed results. Super happy with the product, they have held air for 2 hours so far which means they are probably good to go. I will try to ride this weekend. I dont plan to use these under 14 lbs anyways, I just dont want to have to change tubes on the road....plug n go for me! Thanks for this video, it was spot on!
I like to see that even Kyle allows for scraping and dinging the rim finish when throwing a tire on. Without a machine it's a violent process. Great job with video. Thanks!
The good news is ,the tire bead does not seal on the rim. You could use rim protectors, if you wanted to prevent damage to the rim. Cheers. And thanks to Kyle!
Tubliss is amazing! Nice vid explaining the process and easy to fix a puncture like a nail.. I carry a plug repair set with co2 canistors to fill up the low pressure side. The kit is small and I carry it in my tool kit around my waist. Saved me on an enduro trip in Romania. I did ride for 30 mins on the trail with zero pressure which was no problem at all. The traction in those gnarly woods was amazing. In fact all the rentals had Tubliss and they never have a problem on them. Those bikes were ridden hard too.
Great video, so many great tips. The most useful tip I found at about 21:11 where it’s almost the finish and you are just about sure you ordered the wrong size tyre 😁, using that 2nd tyre iron to knock the opposite side off the bead and further down into the rim make a huge difference, I found doing that multiple times really helped get this process over the line. Love all your videos
Interesting thought about using armor all instead of soapy water. The water usually evaporates too quickly to be useful. I use an instant detailer called slick mist. Not that it's any better or worse than armor all, it's just what I have sitting around. The spray bottle and shop towels are also convenient, and you can wipe down the bike afterwards. Double win!
First tire change since i used this video to install the tubliss system. Using the tire section of the video I just had the easiest rear tire change I have ever experienced. Spot on.
I heard you say “of course that would happen when I go to film this” a few times but I actually am very appreciative that you decided to leave those parts in here. A lot of times I watch these guides and they go so easy and smooth that it makes me think I missed a step in the process or just haven’t figured it out. That’s actually very helpful for those of us giving this a shot for the first time.
I hated my tubliss!!!!! Came on a barely used husky some 8yrs ago, went back to tubes. After watching you're video I learned a lot of tricks and will try again. I also found the hi pressure tube always seeped a little air out.
I’ve been considering changing to tubeliss. Then one of my bikes came with them and have been very happy with them. Now that I understand how to mount, I’ll switch all the bikes!
Great video! I purchased an FX350 with tubeless and wanted to know how to work on what I acquired. I really appreciate the trouble shooting. keep up the strong work!
Great work dude, but here’s another pro tip i’ve learned from installing cush cores on my mtb, wich in close to impossible to fit a tire over unless you use this litle tip! Once you start to struggle to fit the last bit of bead over the rim, flip the wheel over and really push the bead on that side in to the middle of the rim, go a couple of turn around pushing the bead to the center, then flip the wheel over again and it will be a breeze to fit that last bit of tire on!! Great video, keep it up
Nice video! I have a Rabiconda, the bead breaker is handy for the last little tight bit shown at 22:15 🙂 Excellent tip with the Armor All. Soapy water works well, but it dries out pretty quickly. Armor All stays slippery for awhile!
Kyle Thank you for this fantastic video. I have wondered how a tubliss system is fitted. Now I know. A big thank you all the way from Swaziland in Africa.
Perfect timing. It's like you know I have the tubliss sitting there waiting to be put on and a pinch flat. Just waiting on the big brown truck that brings me parts lol
Cheers Mate, installed a rear Tubliss tyre today. Bang on point... I found your video better than Nuetech's. Can't wait to test this system out on the weekend 🤘
You can’t push the tire down into the drop center because the tubliss inner bladder is there. This is the main reason it is more difficult to mount the tire. Doable as shown here but challenging. You’re welcome :)
Excellent video, very informative, direct to the point, a little bit funny (fruit snacks) 😋 This video pretty much sells me on the fact that I'm going to get this system and I'm going to have somebody else install it. Hahaha Thanks for your good work brother, much appreciated. Take care and stay safe out there everyone. -Jonny5🥁
I'd also leave valve cors out till the tires are on that's a mechanics tip from some one that does tire changes professionally also I can use a tire machine to do a full tie change like this in under a minute also they make a special tire soap that doesn't react with sealant
I have kids, (two and three and one one the way) and I fully agree with the fruit snacks thing. As long as they are good kids you and they get the snacks lol
Pro tip: don't use the little nut that backs up against the cap on the high pressure side. If it backs itself off from the red cap, it will self tighten against the rim and tear the high pressure tube underneath. Happened to me twice. Just use the red cap.
I've been trying to get a front tyre on for hours. I just can't get the last bit of the tyre on because the bead won't drop into the center with the tubliss in the way.
@dbc, I see you reused the rim lock hole opposite, but the instructions are very clear not to do this due to damage when removing the tire. I'd rather not drill another hole in my Yamaha rim, so my question is, have you had issues where the holes are opposite of each other? Thanks in advance.
Wow I just watched your video on how to do this from 2014. I've been trying to find a solution on how to get as much traction out of my dualsport tires. Wich are no joke 90% street tires and maybe 10% trail tires. Which are copy cat shinko 705's. I am afraid to air down more than 18psi due to how lose and easy it was to mount and set the bead. I will feel better with a set of these and my tires at a lower psi. I kmow I should have never bought a Chinese yamaha clone. But it was the only way to get the bike I wanted. Well most of it anyways. I've been slowly replacing cheap parts with the real yamaha parts since those were cheaper to buy and import than the real bike, the yamaha xg250 tricker. Ps. Thank you for the great vids and information you give.
Pretty easy to get the inner bladder on the wheel without any tools if it’s WELL lubricated. Just like spinning the tire…gotta take small bites. Just walk it around.
I remember that from the TuBliss instructions too. They seemed pretty clear that the high and low pressure valve stems needed to be exactly 4 spokes apart. Here Kyle's put them pretty much opposite sides of the rim. This might help with balancing the wheel, but I wonder why TuBliss was pretty insistent on them being 4 spokes apart?
@@RickGreen_McNutt it's because when you Mount the tire, you finish at the valve cores so the rest of the tire is in the drop center. If you have one of the valve cores 180 degrees apart, you cannot drop the tire in the drop center to spoon on the last bit. If you do that, you can damage the high pressure core valve stem if you finish at the bead lock 180 degrees off. That's the idea anyway
As a serious mountain biker getting into this sport... I nearly screamed out loud when the armor all sprayed on the rotor. It must not matter as much on these giant brake systems!
I've seen a couple of comments about it. Yeah, I'm curious if there's a particular reason why Nuetech wants you to keep the lock and bladder within 4 holes of each other. Wondering if there's a wear issue if there not within 4 holes.
Tubliss probably recommends that spacing to make installation easier. Kyle pointed out that stuffing the stems in is more difficult when they are opposing each other.
Did this yesterday with no issues - did the mallet trick on the last bit too. Replaced the Armour-All with Silicone spray lubricant - got the nice pop when the bead seated & is holding air. Thanks for the video - was going to pay someone to do it but feel it's better to learn as I go through tyres quite often!
I am doing my first one and nobody says how super hard it is to put the wheel inside the tire mission impossible been on it for an hour and can’t do it … One of those how experienced people make it look super easy but it is super super hard !!! I am regretting buying it as this is painful 😰
No way, I love tubliss! Best part is you can run as low as 0-3 psi because the high pressure tube keeps your tire on the bead, and if you get a flat, you can use automotive style tire plugs to seal without removing tire and wheel
Great Video! I use about 4oz of Stan's in each of my 29er mountain bike tires. How much do you put in your motorcycle tires? Also, have you had any issues getting your tires/wheels properly balanced with the TUbliss? Thanks!
Yeah, they will be way out of balance. Doesn't matter in the dirt, can be very noticeable on road, especially at resonant speeds. If you are super keen, identify the heaviest part of the rim (if it's a brand new and not drilled, little choice otherwise) and (or, just) the tyre and the high pressure valve stem for the inner bladder, and situate those opposite to the bead lock of the tubliss system. This reduces the total amount of weight you need to balance it, but it's still a lot. I use brass spoke weights with a grub screw on my long distance adv bike with tubliss.
When I put air in the tire it leaks out from the spokes. I put two layers of tape and Xgrip rubber. I put 7.5 bar in inner tube and 0.7 bar in outer tube and it lekas. What may be the problem?
About how much Stan's are you putting in that tire? Do you ever add any more during the life of the tire? Then again maybe you're fortunate enough to be able to wear out the tire before you need to do that!
How often do you have to mess with the high pressure side adding air? I’m not great at checking my air pressure. I’m currently running mosses now. Thinking about switching to tubeless
Hi from Portugal and thank you for all the videos. Just a question, I already installed Tubliss and going to install another soon, I am a bit confused about the rim tape on the instructions /video on the site of tubliss they say that the rim tape should be only on the center and to not overlap, so where do you got the info that you should tape it 3 times?
Thanks for the info really appreciate it 👍 A question though..... don’t you need to balance the wheel with weights? I have done lots of street tyres and always have to balance You don’t need to balance on dirt bikes? Thanks in advance Jeff (Australia)
That "sit on the tire" trick saved my day..seriously.
Mr. Brotherson, I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate your videos and your representation of the UTAH approach to outdoor recreation. Thank you!

Dammit wish I’d read that before I just mounted my tire

Nathan Eastham the reason he doesn’t is because theirs a lot of political bullshit if you are sending anything out of the country
When putting the tire on NOT OFF use the Baja no pinch tool. Works like a dream!
Thank you for making this video. I installed my tubliss rear and IRC VE33S tonight. The instructions that come with the kit are helpful, but your video really made this an easy process. I’m looking forward to getting out in the woods and giving this a try. Thanks again.

I’ve been considering changing to tubeliss. Then one of my bikes came with them and have been very happy with them. Now that I understand how to mount, I’ll switch all the bikes!
I remember doing this in the 80's (before all the fancy Tools from the Internet) with old Screwdrivers!! This looks so easy in comparison.
Great video! I purchased an FX350 with tubeless and wanted to know how to work on what I acquired. I really appreciate the trouble shooting. keep up the strong work!

Really appreciate it good informal video. I'm looking at doing tubeless system on my bike. Right now I have tubes and I'm going through one a week.

This video made my Saturday tire job a lot better. 👍
Bruh.. Sweet video. Thanks for showing all the stuff you fought with. Gritty stuff is real life.
Wow…forgot to mention….the MOST IMPORTANT PIECE…that effing tire stand! Ha! Such an awesome video!
Kyle
Thank you for this fantastic video.

Perfect timing. It's like you know I have the tubliss sitting there waiting to be put on and a pinch flat. Just waiting on the big brown truck that brings me parts lol
Thank you for this video! Very helpful and it gave me the confidence to do my tubeless setup myself.
Binge watching your videos. On video 23. So much information and very easy to digest. Keep up the great work
Thanks alot. I'm installing one of these this week. Looks like my high low are closer together. Thanks for the video
Cheers Mate, installed a rear Tubliss tyre today.
Bang on point... I found your video better than Nuetech's.
Can't wait to test this system out on the weekend 🤘
Ordered my tubliss a few days ago. GOOD TIMING!!! Thanks for the vid!!!
Did it. Thanks for the tips and only got one puncher 😭. It’s worth the effort.
Your videos are fantastic. These are horrible for putting in front tires and wont use them anymore. Too much of a pain and I dread dealing with them.
You can’t push the tire down into the drop center because the tubliss inner bladder is there.
This is the main reason it is more difficult to mount the tire.
Doable as shown here but challenging.

Brilliant. Appreciate you man!!
I love fruit snacks and dirt bikes!!
Why I hate black rims. But thanks so much for the video. Just got a set for my 2023 KTM 300 XCW. Next we need a test on Kreft Moto suspension mods:-)
Very helpful video !! Hope to see more dirt bike tech videos!😍 and your videos are long that's because of the important informations in😉👌❤
Love you vids. Not sure why you think people don't like long videos... ?
Even Better than the tubliss video
Fruit snacks.... check!!
Great video! Love using armor all for lube efforts!
Really useful video. Thanks for taking the time and effort it was very useful 👍
How do you clean Stans sealant of the rim and Tubliss after the tire removal? Thanks!
Start the bike on fire and let it all burn off
Super helpful. All the details here. Nice!
Kyle, Im in a pinch. what other tape could i use for the rim tape? Thanks Brad
Just had this same issue. Bicycle shops have similar tape.
After 5 years, how are the Tubeliss working? Curious how they last, trail experiences, etc.
Slick, including that brake disc!!!
that really hurt when he said he was spraying armorall right on the disc brake
I used DW 40. it is a bit better than soap and water, but is more expensive, but less expensive than armourall.
I am doing my first one and nobody says how super hard it is to put the wheel inside the tire mission impossible been on it for an hour and can’t do it …
One of those how experienced people make it look super easy but it is super super hard !!! I am regretting buying it as this is painful 😰
New unmounted tire only? The rim lock on a mounted tire causes it not to seal.
Silly me ! When I first heard about tubeless, I thought they were a foam type insert without tubes.
I feel that. They call it "tubeless" but you are really just trading one big tube for two little ones. Seems like a scam.
No way, I love tubliss! Best part is you can run as low as 0-3 psi because the high pressure tube keeps your tire on the bead, and if you get a flat, you can use automotive style tire plugs to seal without removing tire and wheel
why did you go away from the mousse?
Tubeliss makes a ton of Rim scratches
Worked perfectly. Thank you
Does it matter which valve stem hole you drill out?
is that red and blue cap only the way to separate between the high and low pressure hole ?
Awesome channel man! Keep it up!
So, mount it....OK. But I can't find an instructor for unmount this tubeless thingy.....
I curious how this system would work for a heavier adv bike...like my T7?
Tubeless, but has two pressure tubes?
You should give away a case of the fruit snacks too!!! LOL! Great video. I'll be doing this soon.
Couldn’t you just drill the hole closer to the existing stem (like the European models)? Why do you have to go 180 out on this rim?
I would love to have that husky I'm trying to get back into to bikes! Should be trading my built quad for a 99 ktm 300 this weekend
The 300s are great bikes. I just got one a couple weeks ago, and I don't know why I waited so long. Hope you get a good deal.
thank you, amazing and clear video
Is having to drill a bigger hole for this tubeless kit normal?
Is it necessary to balance the rims after installing Tubliss ?
Take a look at a mtb shock pump it's not as big as the one you are using so you could put it in your pack if you wanted
About how much Stan's are you putting in that tire? Do you ever add any more during the life of the tire? Then again maybe you're fortunate enough to be able to wear out the tire before you need to do that!
I heard the 21" front tires are much harder to install, I guess that's why no one ever shows it being done on film.
Slavens Racing has a vid installing it on a 21 inch, its a summary video, good supplement to this vid
Agreed. The front was so bad. Damaged 2 systems trying. I am not the best at tire changes, but Im not that bad. I guess I wont use this for the front.
click on link above then rocky mountain knows to credit you? or I need to note something?
great video tempted to try tables what tyres do you recommend for tubules set up dunlop ???
No biggie but just so you know, when you let the 30 psi down to 5 in the main chamber it will in turn lower the pressure in the tube around 5 psi
So no big deal on the valve stem placment? Tubliss shows to install the valves within 4 spokes of each other.
What do the ladies think of armor all being the only lube you use
What are the advantages of the tubliss. It has been a while since I was riding dirt bikes
You just spry armour oil on your disc?
How often do you have to mess with the high pressure side adding air? I’m not great at checking my air pressure. I’m currently running mosses now. Thinking about switching to tubeless
Hi from Portugal and thank you for all the videos.
Just a question, I already installed Tubliss and going to install another soon, I am a bit confused about the rim tape on the instructions /video on the site of tubliss they say that the rim tape should be only on the center and to not overlap, so where do you got the info that you should tape it 3 times?
Thanks for the info really appreciate it 👍
A question though..... don’t you need to balance the wheel with weights? I have done lots of street tyres and always have to balance
You don’t need to balance on dirt bikes?
Thanks in advance
