Mechanic #43 (sneaky bastard!) will be helping us get more gear tests out. I'm not going anywhere. ~RF9
You should pin this comment.
Oh thank god. I can't have something like WTF1 just pulled where the host just left suddenly happen again in the same week.
had us mourning for no reason wow 😭
That's a relief 😌
What a relief! No amount of Sahara tire sealant could fill the void in my soul if RF9 left!
Everyone on UA-cam should take note that THIS is how you introduce a new character to a series whilst continuing to produce a killer video.
This is a great experiment in style. We all love Ryan's cheeky jokes and physics blackboard bukkake. But this simple, elegant, wordless video really works as a straightforward review.
They're smart. They know they can't expect to replace Ryan unless they give it the full Bond treatment
Bukkake
Eh horrible style, hard to follow. Just do a normal video with written results that anyone can easily understand. He should cut the cinimatic bs down. I dont even get what lost and won..
Waagh! I want my 10 minutes of math.
@@skie6282 What, can't read? Just choose what's best for you by looking at the comparison categories. "Ride on" is self balancing. "Sahara" seals the best. "Slime" did pretty ok at sealing but is not at all balanced. This is the real world test, the part that is hardest to infer by just looking at product details. Everything else can be read from the bottle or online.
I hope Ryan doesn’t disappear from the camera, his personality is 90% of the reason this channel blew up!
Likely they thought of that
Yeah the video is practical but its not quite the same. His wit and humor is what makes fortnine videos so legendary, along with amazing production quality
@@giorgig4828 He's probably gonna do cinematic stuff, and 43 will probably do the product review. They sell motorcycle stuff so it make sense that they do more product reviews. Bring in a new guy so Ryan can focus on the bigger films.
Same
Ryan’s a d bag who owes me $6
Well, the puncture test tells it all. The other stuff doesn’t matter as much. Getting home matters.
This. I don't even have it in my tires, I just carry a bottle and a small air pump under the seat.
@@moteroargentino7944 Why wouldn't you just carry rope plugs at that point
Yeah; cleanup is someone else's problem when it comes time to plug the tyre properly.
Balance Matter
@@Xayuap Balance is virtually irrelevant, as you're required to go and get the tyre cleaned out and properly patched within 60 miles / 100 km. Keep your speed down and balance really won't make a significant difference...but still being on a flat tyre will.
It is always a good day when FortNine releases a video!
Yes it is😀
Their production quality is insane, it makes sense why they do not release videos weekly, usually I am saddend by this, but with F9 it's worth the wait :D
Just one video makes an entire day "good" uh huh sure it does.
@@DetroitMicroSound I don't think this is a real person. I see these comments often. Probably some bot collecting reputation.
My only complaint is that they’re always too damn short. I could watch a two hour Fortnine video, no problem!
Glad there's a new host to help take up some of the workload that Ryan has. Hopefully this means more frequent uploads in the future!
The creativity from you guys is bloody impressive! What a way to introduce a new presenter! Bravo!
I entirely agree!!!
Looking forward seeing more of the new host, I hope that doesn't mean Ryan going away completely though
He’s not. He posted a comment
I hope it means we get videos more often, like back in the older days.
I hope it does.
ryan received the ducati...he probably needs a loooong testing :D
This is a legit spoiler.
The quality of these videos are nuts, what a production team!
The production quality has greatly increased over the years. ...The trade off seems to be less data and info (as in this video), and that they are released wayyy less often! Though it sounds like the latter is about to be improved, I miss the more info-dense videos.
I don't ride a bike, I don't own a bike, don't even know anyone who does ...
But I'll still watch the videos.
@@TravisTerrell Quality > Quantity all day long.
@@mrb.5610 It's a sign! You have to start Riding motorcycle. The passion is in you! Eh
It’s not just the quality. Ryan loves storytelling and moreover, finding new ways to tell stories about motorcycle-relevant content.
Job well done so far. Looking forward to the F9 expansion!
Very impressed with the 'up to 1/2 inch' resistance claim being true. That's crazy good
HONESTLY I COULD NOT CARE LESS about which tire sealant is better BUT the cinematic value and experience of FortNine's videos is what had me interested. In the end, the still did not disappoint. Great video as always.
At this point, I think I’m really hoping for a full length feature film from you guys! 😂
Thanks so much for the joy and smile you put on my face.
I'm sad you tried to kill Ryan but im glad you showed me the best tire sealant and ballancer compound. 🍻
Damn you guys are brilliant... what a classy way to introduce the team and to pass down the torch (or part of it!)
This video pumped me up after I was feeling a little flat this morning.
We wish Ryan's urethra a speedy recovery. 😎
😂
I like the breaking bad aesthetics of the timelapse scene... you guys are brilliant... I don't even have a bike
Love the videography, audio, and writing that brings this content to astonishing levels... I love this channel!!!
For the failed Slime balance result, because it stays more liquid than the others it would likely not pass that "Static" balance assessment. But while rotating at speed, the liquid will be pooled within the tire such that it will balance the wheel. This is how bead balance products work...only balance while underway and not on static balancers.
It will be good to have two people making videos. Good gear and insights about what to look for from mechanic 43 and Ryan surprising us with products, bikes, and stories nobody has heard of but everyone can learn from. This year is looking good!
Damn I love F9 videos - always different style, yet always silly, informative, and great to watch.
P.S. Mechanic #43 - there is also Ryan's food to mess with)
Love Ryan’s videos.. that unique mix of theory (all too often dismissed by many), the practical application of the theory, the humour, the ability to be an academic but with practical demo’s and blue collar language ….sense of fun.. love it.. keep up the good work. Look forward to many more informative and fun subjects..
Best videos on my feed, hands-down. Impeccable pace and editing, engaging personality, interesting information (even if I don't use most of it). Never stop doing what you're doing!

No words said, all visual. F9 always comes up with great videos.
This video was by far the coolest one you've made. Looking forward to videos like these in the future!
The production quality is INSANE, you guys rock!
I've been watching for years and love Ryan's content and I'm here to say that I support the new guy. Introduce yourself next time!
Also, the dark room timer for cleanup cracked me up.
It's Luke.
The production quality is absolutely insane! Gets better with every video. Love you guys!
Not many channels can create such a creative, entertaining, yet informative and concise video without saying a word. Mad props gents (& ladies if behind the scenes)
Pretty incredible how quality is always here and it's always a creative new way of presenting things.
Most youtubers will stick to one format they know but here I watch almost as much for the video quality than the motorcycles.
Good stuff, and a creative way to introduce a new host to the team!
Video's like this are exciting as hell, it means Fortnines going to be trying out different video ideas which is giving me top gear vibes. Can't wait to see what he tries next and I hope more people get in front of the camera like mechanic #43. Honestly would love to see a video with Ryan bouncing off the different characters you guys might come up with.
I'm about 2 minutes and 3 seconds and I can't believe your production improvements I said thank you were good and now you're super extra duper good, seriously.
Always happy when I see a new FortNine video
Fantastic production value, as always!
Best video ever without saying anything... lot of testing and work to do this video, thank you.
Great video as always! If future gear reviews of #43 anything like this, I'll happily keep watching.
Love the content! Defiantly a departure from recent videos but really awesome!
Particularly liked the lighting in the wheel and tire cleaning shot. I know you probably dont get much feedback for the "behind the scenes guys" but it was killer. That was some quality work on that scene that you dont normally see on youtube. fuckin eh boys.
Very creative. Very entertaining. Always worth watching Fortnine!!! Worth the wait, always!
These videos are the best moto content there is. Funny, well produced, informative. It does not get any better.
after you have a puncture you have to drive a bit further with ride-On. the centrifugal forces close the gap. it works that way because otherwise you can't balance. this test is unfortunately. not well done.
I’ve been using ride on for the last couple of years as a tire balancer since I started changing my own tires. Never had to experience if it would actually stop a leak until last tire change I ran over a nail on purpose. Leaked but I blamed it on not enough ride on in the tire I was using. Makes me doubt it even more now. Still carry a compressor and plug kit with me
Wordless but straightforward, this kind of video is hella brilliant
But kindda miss Ryan jokes
Fantastic video, even though I completely wrecked my bike 7 months ago you guys always seem to be great at entertaining me. Even when I don't need this info lol!
Awesome work as usual folks. Happy to watch your content.
I'm hopeful that the addition of Mechanic #43 means that the channel is growing, and Ryan just needed extra hands on deck! That being said, I think it would be great if M43 takes care of more of the testing videos, leaving Ryan free to create more of the philosophy type videos.
This is absolutely amazing. Well done team F9!!
a great review with hardly any words said. Love it.
It went by so fast, I still don't know which sealer worked the best?
Not a word spoken for the actual content of the video and i understood everything they wanted to convey Perfectly!
Amazing content
The thing that always keeps me coming back, no two videos are the same, but they are always just as informative! A fantastic skit to introduce a new host haha.
Incredible stuff guys. This video could be used to teach so many things about video/film making and at the same time its a great test and review of products. Most channels could not survive a power like Ryan handing over the keys to anything, but this channel is navigating it expertly
gotta say, nice change of pace at a good time, impressive how this channel grows and changes
Glad to see you guys gel so well! It has to be considerable pressure to get these videos out, and with such high production value. :-) Thanks to all.
it is the puncture resistance I am after, like to see the test done with tubed tyres as these are a real pain to repair at the roadside
Does tire sealant work for tubes? I wouldn't think so. These products are just for tubeless tires I thought.
Absolutely works with tubes though because the carcass of a tyre is more rigid it’s more effective as inner tubes can split on larger holes. However I always run slime as an ex dispatch rider it’s saved me many times. Nice thing about putting in in a tube is I’ve not had a blow out and when you come to put a new tube in or properly patch it there’s little mess.
Peace of mind for me, just watch high speed with slime ( or so they say. ) thigh I’ve always used OKO here in the uk.
Did a little research, Sahara Moto claims it works with tubes, add 25% more of the product.
I’ve actually had decent luck with the Ride On in tubes. I’ve pulled plenty of cactus and mesquite thorns out of my dirt bike’s tires and the Ride On has worked. Surprised at the result in the video, as it’s worked for me. But to be fair, I haven’t run over a nail with Ride On, just relatively small stuff.
If Ryan is not in this channel, I’m not warning it anymore…
Maybe if you could read you'd see he's not leaving
Liked it! Good job guys. Always love your stuff. Mechanic #43 really has the Teller vibe going strong, lol.
Such a great video. Excited for the content with our new gear reviewer. Happy none of the style is lost
You really sealed it with that opening!
In the UK there's a sealant called Bike Seal which uses aramid fibers to seal up to 15mm holes and is considered a permanent fix from what I've seen. I've seen some demos and it looks like the best sealant out there IMO. Doesn't claim to balance anything though.
Yea I think balance function and seal in one thing might be a bridge to far. Not doing well at either.
Really nice production quality as always!
I’m blown away! Amazing video communication not a word spoken and not one needed I’m really impressed
Never heard of Sahara. I run Ride On in my tires, but seems like never had a puncture to test its sealing properties. Great video!
If you got a puncture and it automatically sealed you wouldn't necessarily know.
@@johnroberts3824 That's true
Does this mean that Ryan gets to be the host in less videos from now on? :o
hoping it's gonna be more videos. new guy will be for the gears mostly. then ryan will be on motorcycle reviews.
@@pepper5105 Ye man dudes the life of the channel
The production/editing is seriously top notch.
even though there wasn't much explaining or tech info going on here what was accomplished was awesome.. loved how the end result was shown.. keep up the fun work. cheers peeps.
I use Slime in my mountain bike tires due to all the Goathead thorns we have here in the Southwest and it works well. I wonder if this Sahara sealant would work even better even though it says it's for high speed tires. It looks like a great product for my motorcycle of course.
Use Stan’s Seal for the MB (former NM roadie).
From my experience in like situations, ATV, mower and tractor. I would stick with the cheap and cheerful slime.
I used to frequently get thorns on my mountain bike. Got tired of all the tube repairs and purchased inner tubes pre-loaded with Slime. After that I have never had another flat tire.
@@johnroberts3824 I had a slow leak from a thorn. Put the slime in my tubed tire and pulled the thorn. After airing it up to 50 psi I haven't lost any pressure in 2-3 months. I guess it works well enough.
I think liquid sealants pre loaded in your tires are best for slow to medium speeds, and if you expect rough terrain. For medium to high speed on the road, I prefer my tires not to have anything moving around inside them. I just carry it separately.
It’s a shame you didn’t test other brands. I’ve had very good experiences using the “Flat Out” brand on everything from my Jeep Wrangler to my FZ1
That was awesome, captivating vid as always! Haven’t ever heard of Sahara before…
Dude, your videos are always worth watching. Funny as hell and informative. A rare combination.
Even with no dialog, this was a fantastic review! Kudos and thanks!
Anyone else suspect Ryan drank the sealant on purpose just to get out of the clean up test?
That was an entertaining video. But I never really learned why one was better than the others. It needed a summary….
there was
Completely agreed. There was sooo little actual data and information. Pausing on the brief glimpses of the notepad helped a little.
@@gryn1s well I am glad you spotted one. The mock up dais gave a clue, but that is about it.
Keep on experimenting! Love how it's always a different cinematic adventure :)
I absolutely love your stories that you tell in your vids.
You guys are friggin nuts, another knockout vid, thanks you made my day again starting with a much needed laugh.
babe wake up new FortNine video dropped
Thanks for this! It's good to know someone is putting in the work to test this stuff.
This content is consistently amazing!
Interested in this. I've used Ride-On forever.
Edit: Wish this video either had more detail, or published the raw data and methodologies for us to interpret ourselves!
For those who cannot consume what they see?
What??
They showed all the raw data and methodologies in this video....
@@Jehty_ For just three products …
@@Jehty_ Off the top of my head, some data missing includes amounts added to the tire (each brand has a different recommended range, meaning some variability within the same brand.) Instructions vary on each--at least 1 explains that the tire needs to be driven on/in motion to properly seal). I'd like to think they followed that guideline, but, if so, the video doesn't show it. Just seems like the actual knowledge conveyed kind of took a back seat to the--admittedly nice--artistic production. (As a less-important aside, actually inspecting the data they did provide required pausing the video, haha.)
How about tube tyres? I'm guessing results would be similar
By far the best UA-cam channels , I didn’t even see the thumbnail or the name of the video and I just clicked because it said fortnine, almost no script yet amazing
Dont stop posting videos RF9 you are just the best UA-cam channel

I hope having a new host doesn’t mean we lose Ryan!!!
Can’t we have both dammit!!!!

@@davetrousers I swear I literally do that every time with that one word. My brain just doesn’t want to learn that one.
Ryan is a big reason why this channel is amazing. If he goes, I go.
I have been watching since you had about 5K subscribers. Always thought you had some of the best moto content, experiments, and video production on UA-cam. Don’t think I could have totally accepted another host this far into my viewership!
To be fair the new guy seems knowledgeable. I’d think that he’d have to be if you are turning over some of the show to him. In that case I’ll give him a chance.
Salute.
Top tier video as always, F9 is seriously some of the best content on YT
Ryan's new "Balanced" diet.
I would love to have seen punctures on untreated tires, *then* adding the sealants, so we could see which one excelled in that case.
Right
That's the _only_ way I've ever used Slime; put some in to get to where I can do a proper fix. (Except in my zero-turn, that's preventative!)
Really digging the whole story unfolding in time with the music. Nice.
2 words said, still wildly entertaining. Another fantastic F9 video
Hey Ryan. I've been thinking of a mechanical review you can do. After a discussion I'd had with others about clutchless shifting. Benefits, disadvantages, do's, don'ts and what additional wear it may or may not have on the clutch cable, gear box, clutch plates etc.
I thought it'd be the kind of thing you'd be up to doing.
In my experience RideOn does seal punctures, but since it’s thicker, therefore doing a better job of balancing, it has to be in motion to re-spread and plug the puncture.
I sure hope this is true, because my mechanic would probably fire me as a customer if he had to do 10-15 minutes of cleanup per tire.
Isn't the point that you are continuing to ride and don't notice a flat tire?
The Sahara probably balances the wheel in motion just fine with centrifugal force but doesn't static balance. Example, if you put slime in a unbalanced bicycle wheel, the slime will self balance the wheel once moving.
Something Ryan might not have considered. If he didn't feel any vibration at high speeds then the Sahara was self balancing.Just because it's not static balanced doesn't mean it's not balanced when rolling. The Sahara probably sealed better because it's not as thick so it can get slung into the hole easier/faster. Also cold weather might have played a role.
As always a top-notch video with pertinent content!
I did miss just one thing: what about corrosivity and long-term potential damage to the rim? I feel like Ryan’s backboard would have covered that topic, as well as some of the science of how these balance and seal.
Nice to see more people in the process! I’m looking forward to the future of fort nine.
Always fun and informative videos!🏍
I love ryan as much as the next guy but this 43 fella seems like a nice breeze of fresh air. I think this video followed the same artistic formula as all the previous F9 videos and I'm looking forward to seeing more like this.
Thank you fortnine for teaching
