  • The new Ford Bronco and Bronco Raptor come equipped with some of the latest and greatest off-road ready features from any OE manufacturer. But what if you wanted to take your wheeling game up a notch or two than the Raptor can handle? Traditionally, you’d look for piecemeal aftermarket components and dream up a Bronco that can take on any trail. But APG did you one better. They just released their all-new Bronco ProRunner conversion.
While many aftermarket vehicle upfitters are releasing Bronco components and conversions, none are doing it at the scale of APG. Starting out in 2019 with their Ranger ProRunner, APG perfected the art of carbon fiber wide body systems paired with long travel suspension and stronger drivetrains. This approach bled through to the new Ford Bronco, and after three years of development, the Bronco ProRunner is born.
Start your build out with a stock 4-door Ford Bronco. Add a proprietary set of carbon fiber fenders that sit 5 inches wider than stock, throw together a long travel front and rear suspension system complete with King race series IBP coilovers, sprinkle in a Dana 60 rear end and Advantek 44 front differential, beef up the steering, and roll down the street on a set of 40-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers to finish the build.
These are the basics of the Bronco ProRunner by APG. A purpose-built vehicle conversion package meant to tackle the desert and the rocks with poise and ease. Wide, low, big tires, and gobs of suspension travel. It’s any off-roader’s dream Bronco, and it’s here to conquer. APG prides themselves on their in-house design, engineering, and manufacturing, which lends confidence to potential customers looking for “made in the USA” quality Bronco parts.
Matt got a first look at this new build, and in this video, he goes over some of the top-level features of the Bronco ProRunner, as well as some technical details as to why it’s even better than his own Bronco Raptor.

You don't even feel it when you hit obstacle like deep ruts, ditches etc at high speeds that would definitely damage other 4x4s.

Well executed build but the price is flat out ridiculous. You can snatch a Braptor nowadays anywhere from a 15-25k mark up and be at 100k. Yeah then theres the tab to Uncle Sam and other misc bs charges but you’ll be OEM, warranty, and all the factory improvements they implemented over the “standard” units.

Wonder with the APG specific design of the front and rear control arms and rear track bar had the limitations of the frame mounting in the design. Seems APG used the Ford factory locations and mounting points. Though one can see the rear lower CAs are longer than stock so the frame mount has obviously been moved, the uppers probably have been lengthened to maintain the pinion angle during suspension cycling (difficult with the inside side saddle fuel tank). The front upper and lower CAs don't look like they have changed at all in the frame mounting location and the design Ford had in the Bronco. So failure could be those mounts as they weren't design for the application of the upgraded APG designed CAs and wheels/tires. Like that of the Ford's design steering rack. Not capable of handling simple upgrades, ie wheels/tires, small lifts putting tie rods in non-operating angles, etc.
APG basically made the upper and lower front CAs heavier and placed the ball joint/knuckle (wheel mounting surface) end farther out from the frame.. APG did state they relocated and designed the front shock mount to work with a longer shock. Nothing was mentioned on the front axle cv shafts as they would have to be longer in length, just that APG optioned on the Advantec D44 front like that of the Raptor and the Advantec D60 for the rear axle. When it comes to describing the shafts of the axle housings in an independent suspended vehicle, rarely is one mentioning the shafts, brakes, etc unless there has been another aftermarket manufacturer upgrade. So with that, if the front housing has been upgraded to a Dana Advantec D44 housing (with its inner shafts), wonder if its overall length is wider than the Raptor so as to use the Raptor CV shafts due to the length working with the APG designed ball joint/knuckle (wms) placement. APG did mention in the video the track width of the rear Advantec D60 axle housing is wider to accommodate the wheels/tires and suspension cycling.
When looking to upgrade and redesign an independent factory axle and suspension, there are plenty of intricacies that have to be accountable to end where the wheel mounting surface (wms) would be placed. Straight axle is easier to do that since its a fixed plane. IS has separated the solid shafts into flexible shafts to allow the independent movement of the knuckle (wheel/tire). IS requires the arcs of components that connects to the knuckle to be on the same arc curve during cycling otherwise there would be binding between the components. Ball joints, steering tie rods, cv shafts, knuckle to CAs, etc.

Most people usually do not think about Breaks when they upgrade their Jeep or in this case Bronco but putting that much MASS without putting some MASSIVE Rotors and at least 4 or 6 piston Brembo brakes is SERIOUSLY STUPID! I personally think that the New Bronco is a JOKE and Ford is having the SAME ISSUES with the Bronco that they did when the Mustang got the facelift and the New Engine and transmission was introduced back in 2015-16 where cars were having to be purchased back by Ford because they were SUPER LEMONS and the Bronco will probably go thru the same thing.

Oh my...such a bleak comment deserves my response. You're horribly underestimating the pricing here. Allow me to explain:
-You can't just slap coilovers on a JL, you need a coilover conversion kit
-You forgot about a long arm suspension system
      -You forgot about hydro-assist steering
      -You forgot about 40" tires
-You forgot about beadlock wheels (real ones)
      -You forgot about driveshafts
-You forgot about an HD spare carrier than can handle the weight of a 40
-You forgot about tuning the ECU for new gears/locker
-You forgot that the 392 does not have a selectable transfer case, only an all-time AWD system
-You forgot about the fact that installing even JUST the items you described at a standard shop rate of $125/hr would cost over $10,000
And lastly, you forgot that the ONLY thing a Jeep built to that spec would do better than this is a drag race or black diamond crawling trails like you'd find at The Hammers. So if that's the only kind of wheeling you want to do, then go buy the 392. For everyone else who wants one vehicle to do it all, there's this Bronco.

I have heard so many complaints about this Bronco ,many people end up taking it back to the dealer because it is a pile of junk !

😂 that's really pretty funny. There are fifteen people in my town, that started a Bronco club and they all love them. They are super cool. Something that will be worth hanging on too.

That travel is definetly not long travel that gap between the fenders and the wheels is still not much they need to look at real baja trucks

"Real Baja Trucks" lol....tell me you know nothing about performance suspension without telling me. Ideal ride height setup should be 50/50 up and down travel. This Bronco sits perfectly at 50/50. 8" up, 8" down. APG engineered their fenders to allow a 40" tire to go full bump to full extension, and they can even go full lock steering at full bump on a 37" tire. Thanks for trying though.

They should “INCLUDE” the steering rack and tie rods , not make it a pay more option.. what they gonna send one out on 40’s with the stock steering rack pff ridiculous..

Well I don't live in or around a desert. I don't need to travel at high rate of speed in the wide open. The Raptor is already way over priced and really made for people that have a alot of money and dont mind opening a window and tossing it out at the raptor. Then, there saying if you go with APG again your expected to toss a whole lot of money again at your already paid vehicle bronco. Why do they think the every day person is going to toss the 100k at the bronco? I'll look at it and it is cool. I will not be throwing all that money at one vehicle unless I win the lottery
