Bless John McLaughlin's heart for being such an amazing musician, and humanitarian (the things he's doing for the Palestinian refuges).... and yet so humble. I'm glad PRS is so closely associated with him.
John McLaughlin is my favorite guitar man. I have followed him since he gave lecture concert at Berklee College in Boston when I was studying in 1971. He is a guitar great and beautiful person. Mahavishnu John we love you! ohn is Love
2 of the most amazing and caring people on the planet. The giving of gifts to each other, that mean so much to each other, they connect on a different level than most people do. Love the video PRS, thanks so much for doing it.
Two good fellas and souls. McLaughlin's playing and attitude on stage is something transcendental. I couldn't attend his 1st concert in my hometown Porto Alegre where he played with Egberto Gismonti in 1977. Fortunatley I attended when he came back here with 4th Dimension and palyed that pretty custom crafted luxurious PRS.
If I recall something McLaughlin did that I really enjoyed is called vital transformation from the inner mounting flame. I’ve been a fan of John’s since Way back then👍🏻
I love these conversations. Even though I've been listening to John McLaughlin for 50 years, I had to see what else I could learn about him on Wikipedia. Guess what guitar he is playing in the photo at the top of the page. It's beautiful.
When I bought my first McCarty 594 I did so becasue I was too afraid to buy another very famous single cut guitar due to constant tuning issues. I just didn't want to shell out 3 or 4 grand and then bend the G or B strings and go out of tune. I started playing guitar in 1986 and around 1990 I started hearing this buzz about PRS and Paul Reed Smith. I had always been a die hard Fender guy and it was only in the early 2000s that I bought my first PRS guitar. I'm 53 now, I started playing late when I was 18 but with PRS you get exactly what you pay for. It's the only brand that gives you every cent you spend back.
The same happened to me. I was 6 years old and fell in love. 6 years later I saw a pic of John McLaughlin with a white double neck. I became a disciple, a guitar player as a profession, and am a McLaughlin follower to this day. Been using PRS since the 90s…my go tos are a SSky and my CU24…and my McCarty.....
The Master from Doncaster. I very nearly emailed him asking about his preference on PRS models the other day, 3 days later, we get this. Synchronicity.
Look, man.... I have owned 12 PRS guitars... I loved all but one. But ya look and act like if JM doesn't say what you want, you get pissed. It's easy to see even that there are edits. I don't understand the butt hurt with PRS VS. Fender and Gibson. I freaking love your guitars with a passion. I really do, but most guys like the Fender and Gibson neck Length. When we heard those old Strats,Teles and Lester's 20 or so years ago pre, PRS, most guys wanted to hear those original sounds. I love all 3 companies...
24:07 Paul has been involved in modeling amps for many moons now. Waves GTR3 High Gain Crunch model of a Garcia Amplification amp is one example. ua-cam.com/video/A4AHmbYhidM/v-deo.html
I met John back in the early 1970s.. he was in the Mahuvishna Orchestra. It was a strange meeting , he would not shake your hand, but put his finger out. So I shook his finger. He was very strange back then.

Two of my greatest Mentors .. pricelesss .. thank you!
John's description of the feeling behind his playing is the reason he has been a true hero of mine for the last 50 years. God Speed. And thanks, Paul.
Very touching

I think this was my favorite episode so far. John's descriptions and explanations are on a different level. Very candid! I am a new fan!

Did you see the Achme inner mounting flame ball pens?

John’s interviewed, I’m there. Lovely chat between these legends.
Just a couple of legends having a chat. Can't imagine this world without either of them in it. Both masters of their Craft's!
Johnny Mac is the man!
I am better for hearing this conversation. Thank you PRS.
Nice to see !!!
The Great John McLaughlin! God bless him!
Why I love this man and want a PRS guitar!!!

JOHN IS HEAD AND SHOULDERS THE GUY PAUL SHOULD BE MOST PROUD TO HAVE PLAYING HIS GUITARS. JEFF F'N BECK CALLS JOHN THE GREATEST EVER .
The non trem version, a magnificent guitar was for sale at World Guitars in the UK, dear Jeff. I wanted it but could not afford it unfortunately.

I think that quote is from Chopin.... about the hearing two guitars... I read that on an album from Strunz and Farah... Heat of the Sun. Nice album
I have a PRS and I have a Tokai. Which one do I play the most?

Paul is a egomaniac.

Still is
Lot's of professional musicians do not like to shake hands. Calling him very strange is a bit much.
Like most very talented musicians and artists McLaughlin is weary of strangers. Only peaceful patient people can reach them.
You get what you give...
we need a @richardshaw of (cradle of filth) custom model please make that happen
Im one of those people who own John’s instructional video, it is great, but it takes all the magic out of Pat Metheny’s sound. 🥡🥢
