Great performance by Ricky Skaggs and band! Exactly the kind of music that should be on that Opry stage! Chris Young has an awesome voice and did a great job on the Oak Ridge boys song!! Great song by the Oaks love life and Healing!
I have your first album as the four of you. Been a fan since 1973. Was 8 years old. Did miss William Lee Golden when he stepped away for that 8 year period. Did not realize it till I looked it up. I was fortunate enough to say I have seen the group perform trice both at Branson at your theater . Was a great time. On our first visit my wife and myself were the youngest couple in the crowd. We were in lower 50 years old age.
I have been listening to the ORB since before 1981 as a kid then seeing them in 1981 at the Iowa State Fair with my parents which was the BEST day of my life! i am now 54 and still love the boys
So happy to see Joe when he was still feeling pretty good; or hiding it well. The Oaks were always a top act. And Joe was the spark in every performance. As talented as they all are, Duane, William Lee, and Richard were more laid back and low key. Not Joe!! That’s why on every song I’d focus on that tenor. And when it’s just me and them, I automatically fall into singing tenor too. R.I.P. Sweet Joe. The choir in heaven sounds better with that perfect tenor, I’ll miss you always. 💔😢
Incredible memories for you.My great friend Paul Married is married to Jamie Allen, daughter of lead singer of the Oaks, Duane Allen.Paul, and Jamie have a family band ROCKLAND ROAD.You'll like them. Facebbok, etc.
RIP Dallas Frazier - I bet he never dreamed this little tune he wrote in 1965 that went nowhere when he recorded it, in which be borrowed the beat from another song he wrote in 1957, would be considered a classic in 2022! It just needed a little jazzing up and some ooom-pappa- mau-mau's from one of the greatest bass singers in rock and country!
Saw them live More state university, what a great show my son was going to school there, my dad E J Music was assentant head of security love these guys.
I just discovered this show and synched it up on my tv & phone ...youtube & blue tooth and had a great time ...sorry my mom wasn't alive to enjoy it... She would have had fun too...it'll be soon 2 years since she died...enjoy the time you have if you don't you'll never get it back...ever. Great show.. Can't wait til the next one after I get off work. 8/7/2021. Next week is Carly Pearce @1135pm on CBS network TV.
Seen them in Nashville @ the municipal auditorium. Richard Sterban made the concrete shake. This was in88 or 89 Conway Twitty, Shenandoah, TG Sheppard all in one night. It was awesome!
I logged on to hear the Oak Ridge Boys... NOT Ricky Skaggs; or anyone else!!! There must be a change in some members, because this is NOT the same group that made up the Oak Ridge Boys Gospel Quartet!!!
Listening to them for 40 years and love them a whole lot...But lets face it, they need to hang it up. Richard sounds tired and honestly he sounds very bad. 4 tired singers trying to hang on. The Statlers Brothers knew when to quit.....time the oaks do the same!
This is just my opinion, but the Opry should require anyone appearing there to do nothing but classic country. Not this new garbage they call country now days!! Keep it traditional!!
I have loved the Oaks for many years, and have been to a few of their concerts. However, to me anyway, it seems Duane Allen has lost a few steps, or more accurately, notes. Perhaps it's time to.........🤔
Ricky Skaggs is obviously a fine musical talent but I sure wish he'd stick to what he KNOWS instead of proselytizing his glib opinions and untested religious assumptions. The human mind can be convinced almost anything is TRUE when conditions are right (like constant repetition and reinforcement by peers and family).
@@kaohsiung99 Clarke was almost right. I would have chosen "perplexing" rather than "terrifying." When "terrified" most of us suffer what I'd call a cramp in the brain... we STOP thinking and start rampaging around in all directions. When "perplexed" I think people can still THINK, at least those who haven't already suffered brain damage from being indoctrinated with an unproved fairy tale. We "thinkers" are able to rationally consider the puzzling circumstances and ponder the mysteries of life.

Missing Joe Bonsall......the world is missing a great singer.......God has another angel in his choir.
This is 1 awsome group of singers 50 years together is absolutely amazing bless them

I saw them in Ft. Dodge when the only song they had on the radio was Y’All Come Back Saloon. And another coming out. Got all their autographs!!!
The first concert I ever attended was the Oaks in San Antonio, TX. They were the band that really got me into Country Music. RIP Joe!!!
Love the oak ridge boys. The eighties was soo much fun especially with Elvira to party with!
Glad Ricky Skaggs can share Jesus on TV. We all need Jesus. The oak ridge boys are awesome and can sing gospel

Enjoyed seeing the Oaks many times but never at Opra, maybe before I die.
Love me some oak ridge boys. I saw them live at a private party in far west Texas and they were superb!
Edit: this was about 8 years ago.
Man it doesn't get much better than the Oak Ridge Boys... Richard Sterban is 78 years old and still rattling the rafters with those low notes!
he had previously been in Elvis's backup group. Joe told a story of how he got them in backstage to see him. He had also been engaged to Donna Summer.
And now Joe is gone, the youngest I think. 😢😢

In the 70's imagine change and a focus on country music.
It’s the Grand Old Opry, have you never been there?
That’s not a new tool I’ve got one and I have had it for years I mean years this gas line at tunes been out for a long time
