    That was a really good idea fabricating it to work on the skid steer. I have a box blade for my tractor but having your implements in front of you is much better. Your video was picture perfect Chris. Good quality.

      I really wanted to buy one for the skidsteer, but skidsteer attachments are more expensive than three point hitch attachments. So this gives me the best of both worlds. Glad to hear the video quality is good. Thanks!

    Boxing in a dozer blade has always been the the easy way to grade driveways. Great idea to put a quick attach plate on the 3 point attachment. Having your machine behind the grading is what gives the smooth finish, like a dozer does.

      Thanks! I am glad I put the plate on there- makes it so much more versatile out on projects 🙂

    Man yeah Mr Chris!! You did an amazing job there!! Boy y'all are getting hammered with rain to cause all that damage!! That thing is epic, so much better than the box blade!! Boy times sure have changed, don't even have to get out of the cab to hook the implement anymore!! Enjoyed the ride, and the footage looked great!! Curious to hear a review of the 11 soon!! Thank you sir for bringing us along!! Look fwd to seeing what's next!! 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸😁😁😉😉

      Thanks! That storm brought over 3 inches of rain fairly quickly and the ground is always wet so it doesn't absorb anything. I bought a new skidsteer in 2007 that had the hydraulic quick attach- every machine I bought since then has had it. Really handy to have! All I can tell you about the 11 so far is that it is more complicated than the 8 🤣🤣🤣

      Thanks Bryce! It is harder to use on the skidsteer. When I used it on the tractor it was just drop it and go.

      I am happy with the results, though I am still getting the hang of it! That storm was over three inches of rain in a short amount of time. Thank you Pete 🙂

    BRILLIANT!! I'd love to hear about or better yet see some footage with the rippers. Have you tried ripping with the skid steer? Also, it looks like the LP allows you to raise and lower the cutting blades? How do you run the blade heights?

    Did you look into wider ones? Seems like it would take a month of Sundays to get a big area done. Could be camera perspective, too.🤷‍♂️

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  10 місяців тому +1

      🤣 It actually is pretty quick. The area I did was about 50 feet wide by about 200 feet long and took less than 20 minutes. I bought this size because it doesn't take up too much room on the trailer going from project to project. Thanks 🙂

      I've only used this a handful of times so I would say I only have a little skill 🤣🤣🤣 When it's on the tractor you can just drop it and go- super easy. Thanks again Ed!!

    Since land planes have the angle on their two inside blades to create a crown for your driveway, how do you avoid the crown effect when doing a parking lot?🤔🤔

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  10 місяців тому

      This unit does not create a crown- all the material comes out level. Maybe others do? Thanks 🙂

      @@dehavenfamilyfarm I think Tractor Time with just did an episode where his brand did as well as the brand that Good Works Tractors does as well. They are both American made products like Land Pride.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  10 місяців тому

      @jimmcknight3021 I remember the TTT video. His material did come out level. There are a few adjustments you can make to allow the land plane to leave more material on one side than the other. If you went up and down the driveway it would leave more material in the center of the driveway thus creating the crown. Hope this info is helpful!

    It looks like you used the wrong kind of rock anyway.
    You should be using "base rock" or what they call "class 2" in the business.
    That stuff will pack down like concrete. And heavy rain has very little effect on it.

  • @TF856
    @TF856 7 місяців тому

    Land planes were designed for people to grade their driveways who have no knowledge or experience of using a box blade.
    Nobody who knows how to use a box blade fairly well would even own a Land plane. They would have no use for it.
    Companies that do grading for New roads and parking lots only use skip loaders/utility tractors that have a good quality box blade and a top and tilt kit!
    I've been on hundreds of job sites and never seen a land plane.
    They always use a tractor with a box blade that has a top and tilt kit!
    Anybody who leaves wavy bumps with a box blade does not know what they're doing!
    You can do a lot of things with a box blade that you cannot do with a land plane!
    Sorry.
