i drive an rx8 and havent had the time to get it lifted up recently and it got a very very similar noise. im very hopeful that its just a heatshield not anything worse. Thanks for the video man Im definitely less stressed.
Thank you. I just had work done on my car and it developed this noise. One of the things that was worked on was the exhaust system so maybe something got knocked loose. Thank you for posting the sound of it, which some of the other videos I looked at did not show. They went right into the repairs. Once I heard this, it's really clear that that's what at least one of my car problems is.
Can I please ask what size jubilee clips you've used in this video? I think the same thing has happened to my 2009 Toyota Avensis tourer after a long drive back home tonight, which featured some very rough motorway surfaces and horrible weather. 🤦
My RD1, also in the same colour as yours, makes an annoying rattle like that, especially when the revs drop. I had a look under and the heat shield has some corrosion and half of the bolts no longer even hold it in!
Yeppp...ugghh...I thought my engine was about to blow.. I pulled over and ran away from my car and called the fire company 🙃 they told me Ma'am it's your heat shield...just get it fix and the EMT asked if I needed oxygen because I was breathing so hard...smh 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I’m sure they could fix it, but it might cost a lot of money. You may want to take a look under your car first and see if there are any bolts missing from heat shields, or anything obviously loose that is rattling. Maybe you just need a new bolt and nut on there.

You’re welcome.
I have the exact car doing the same thing, I am going to try this tomorrow. Thank you!
You’re welcome
Turn up the radio
That's the quickest solution!
i can still hear it through my music, and the worst part is my car is gutted 😔
😂😂😂
Mines making that EXACT same noise right now. Rusted catalytic converter heat shield.

I had an infinity with this problem, bought the clamps, then someone hit me and totaled my car like two days later
What’s the size (‘’) of these clamps?
What size clamps did you use
Awesome thanks 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice
Thanks
I think this is why my g37 is loud during cold start I don’t hear it when I drive tho
Hey my car does the same noise but it seems like its coming from the actual hole of the muffler
My welder removed the catalytic converter heat shield on my infiniti fx and the annoying noose disappeared.
**noise
That’s a sure way to stop the noise!

Is this for the 98 V70? Mine does this and i dont know what to do
This would work on most cars. Most of them have exhaust heat shield like the one in the video.
BTW how much it costs to fix it at workshop?
Yeah any one? I have the same question
My 2009 Nissan Cube with 122,000+ Miles developed this loud rattling noise, Would it be a bad idea to take it to a dealership for a repair?
