    I don't understand fluidity completely. I still wanna do more research but from this video, especially when the guy said "You can't help who you fall for; its always changing and evolving" that really felt like thats how I've been feeling. I don't feel like pansexual or bisexual fits me either. Surprisingly, I had identified as a lesbian up until now but I felt like that wasnt quite right. I'm in no rush to define my orientation or label it so quickly. I'm still growing

    I've been labeling my sexuality this and that for years, I've never been able to pin it down. There's been long periods in my life where I've identified as a lesbian because I had no attraction to men at all, this can go on for a year or more. Then I start to be attracted to men, and sometimes I stop being attracted to women all together. I used to think that maybe I had a problem with being bi or pan, but these identities don't work for me because I can go through long periods of being only interested in one gender. It's actually quite rare for me to be interested in more than one gender at the same time, it tends to happen in a kind of crossover. It's pretty humiliating as I've come out as bi, lesbian, straight, pan, and then have to revoke it by either my actions or actually saying it, I have to go through the humiliation of people thinking I was lying or repressing. I got a lot of gossip about my sexuality, and I'm a naturally flirty person so that made it worse. I like being the way I am, but I wish people would be more tolerant. I've decided not to update anyone on the situation anymore, or talk about my orientation to anyone who isn't a close friend because the ammount of shit I've got from people about it is awful. I'm fed up of people thinking I'm confused or a mess, though I must admit I've thought the same things about myself because society had a very solid view of what sexuality should be.

    I feel like this helped a lot. When I came out as genderfluid to my close family members I’ve been struggling to find the right term or words to describe my sexuality other then the fact that for me, although looks are nice and pleasing to the eyes, someone’s personality can make anyone beautifully in my eyes. I originally thought I was bi until my niece told me that I might be pan because of how I described my sexuality, but after a while and some researching it kinda didn’t feel right. At some point I thought I might be demi or grey-sexual since some descriptions and experiences kinda fit but at times it was also uncomfortable. I do still feel attraction/interest in someone’s looks and gender but not all the time.
    I’m a genderfluid and mostly sees myself as a man or someone who’s just very masculine, so sometimes I see myself as gay since I also like men but I also feel like I’m just more comfortable with men/masculine people and find them interesting. But to me, my attraction to men is just a preference not a requirement. I just know I am capable of being attracted to different types of people if I get to know them better and spend more time with them.

  • @angelicazordan5538
    @angelicazordan5538 3 роки тому +3

    Generally speaking I identify as bi, and I'd only explain the following to someone who asked: I feel like some periods of time (years at a time) I'm much more interested in guys and a girl would really have to catch my attention for me to want to be with her, and viceversa other times. Generally I'm also more sexually attracted to girls and more romantically attracted to men. And I have been labeled by many people as sapiosexual - I kinda refuse the label cause it sounds so edgy wannabe, but I can't deny I'm often very attracted to conventionally very unattractive people if I hear them talk for an hour or two and feel that they're very smart. I'm famous in friends groups for having really weird sexual fantasies about professors they deem as ugly and old hahaha.
    So yeah, sexuality is fluid people, and it's so much fun.

      There's no clear cut answer to "why?" for almost anything in human's nature. We can speculate and make educated guesses on probability and whatnot but we won't be able to really know why. It can be hormones, genetics, exposure, experiences, mood. Literally anything. Guess we gotta accept it as one of many mysteries of human beings. You might not believe it or understand it just accept it.

    • @kmarie7051
      @kmarie7051 2 місяці тому

      Many experts believe it's a mix of genes and exposure to sex hormones in the utero. They have done studies on animals and they found changing the hormones level that the animals are exposed to in the utero changes whether they are interested in same sex or opposite sex mates. These hormones also determine gender traits. They cannot do the experiments on humans because it would be unethical.
      From the research on male sexuality many experts believe it's biological, innate, fixed trait and stable throughout the lifespan. Some scientists don't actually believe you can get a true bisexual orientation in men because studies on arousal patterns in bisexual men usually show they respond to one sex much stronger than the other, although they respond slightly stronger to their less preferred sex than do heterosexual or homosexual men who usually only show strong arousal to their stated sexual orientation and preferred sex. They have found cross-sex differences in the brains of homosexual people that are different compared to heterosexual people of the same sex which they believe is due to sex hormone exposure in the utero. Gay men have similarities to straight women and can be more female-typical in some gender traits compared to heterosexual men and lesbians have similarities to straight men and can be more male-typical than straight women.
      They did do a study over some years not so long ago on fluidity in sexuality on both sexes of all sexual orientations- self reported and arousal patterns- to see if anyone claiming to have change sexual orientation whether they showed different arousal patterns. None of the heterosexual or homosexual men said they'd changed, but a few bisexual men said they did with more self reported change in women( mostly bisexual women). None of their arousal patterns had changed though, and the bisexual men who had a much stronger arousal to one sex still had the exact same arousal patterns. So sometimes sexual identity doesn't always align with sexual arousal and sexual attraction which seems to be more stable than sexual identity.

    Actually, I must say I am totally confused.
    I just have hardly any interest in real relationships
    Well, I am interested in relationships but not the kind where you love each other or something like that.
    I imagine a good relationship more like this: with someone who is nice and open. And the relationship would be more like a mixture of friendship+ and open relationship.
    Because I have quite many and opposite interests and I don't think you could unite that in one person. So it would have to be possibly also several. So rather polyamory (relationship with several) but that would also be strange for me. So maybe more of an open relationship where you trust each other and so and talk about it but also where you can do „things“ with someone else. So if I am Switch and my partner is consistently top, then I can also do something with someone who is bottom or so. Of course, the partner can also be Switch but that somehow does not excite me so. So I would rather have a relationship where you belong to each other and there would also be an option to marry. But without all the romantic love stuff and without such stupid unspoken rules like "you are not allowed to have something with someone else" and "you are not allowed to text or look at anyone else".
    I'd hate that.
    But it's only been like this for a few days. Before that I was often in love and so on and I had nothing against relationships. Either I'm still in a phase of finding or I'm... what's that called where the sexuality changes?
    I had thought that before. But I forgot how it is called

    Sexual fluidity...well...it is more like taboo fluidity...something regarded as a taboo (that gave one the sexual drive) lost it's attractiveness and therefore one moves on.
    You can also claim a sexual age difference fluidity...where you sometimes like to have sex with people who are the same age...but then with people who are older...and then with people who are younger (under 18...and you are a pedophile...and the government has to take care of you going too far).
    So I as a non-practicing heterosexual ask you: what's new because there are more different kinds of sexual constellations than there are chemically named and described elements.
    Also: sex isn't so much about the act than it is about the brain. To learn to phantasize and self-restruct leads to the highest sexual pleasure possible...regardless of your sex, gender and what degree of fluidity you have regarding all kinds of characteristics.
