  • YAY! He’s here! This is the home birth story of our son! It was a peaceful and completely empowering home birth after a hospital birth. Thank you so much for the prayers, I felt so supported and cared for. 🎉
A couple things I forgot to mention in this video that are kinda cool; my water didn’t break until the last push! So as I held him for the first time, I pulled the bag of waters off of him and that was such a cool thing to see as well as a really amazing answer to prayer that God would leave my water bag intact until the very last push!
Other prayers that got answered: my labor was just over three hours and technically he was born in the morning! 🤪 It was so peaceful to labor in a dark and quiet house. I really didn't feel any pain until the last two hours of contractions.
He was 8.4 lbs and 21 inches long (EXACTLY the same size as Mallory when she was born!)
I never had a bloody show or any blood loss at all until the placenta came out, and even that was so little blood I could hardly tell there was any blood in the water. So if you’re worried there will be a crime scene at your house in a home birth, that was not my experience at all! The midwives take care of everything and have it all cleaned up so quick.
We allowed his cord to pulse for about 25 minutes and it was white with no blood in it and then my husband cut the cord. I had my placenta encapsulated by a local midwife, but I haven’t really noticed anything good or bad by taking the pills. All the evidence on placenta encapsulation is anecdotal, and I’m just following my intuition on it. So far I don’t notice anything positive or negative. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I would 100% have another home birth, it was the most incredible experience of my life. I’m so grateful for my midwives for coaching me and helping me unlearn so many of my negative beliefs about birth. 🙌🏾
Thank you for watching! I hope this story inspires you! Pregnancy, birth, motherhood; we can do this!

I had a totally pain free labor and birth. It is all about how much you relax and also your mindset. It is not pain. Pressure and stretching, not pain. It is amazing how that right there can help you have a pain free delivery!

I’m due today and planning a home-birth. It will be my third unmedicated labor, second home-birth, maybe first water birth. I’m trying to be patient as I never made it all the way to my due date before in my previous pregnancies and now I may go past it. It’s hard to wait for labor to start! Your testimony made me smile. Thank you for sharing.

Yay! Thanks so much for sharing this, it's so good to have positive and real birth stories out there. Just discovered your channel because I love minimalism :) and then finding this and all your mum related videos is extra great because I'm 6 months pregnant too! Thanks for your work! Inspiring

Thank you for sharing your prayers and how God responded to you. This is my favorite birth story I’ve ever heard. I love how you talk about it and how you share you wanted to do it again right after and the encouragement that I should look forward to birth. I am 38 weeks today, and I’m planning a birth center birth 🩵🩵 I will be listening to this again!!

Thank you for sharing this. I wish I had had that perspective- to “lean into” - what my body was naturally doing. That’s really good advice.

Thank you for your honesty! I had my First Baby last spring at home unmedicated, but I’m not gonna lie, it was excruciating 😣 I was a little traumatized for a bit afterwards. I’m praying our next one, due in July will be an easier birth. Praying 🙏😁

It's amazing you had a fast birth! I always love that people have water births. How beautiful that your daughter got to watch it too.
I love that you had the ability to have a home birth. I live above my landlord and his room is right under ours, so I can't do that. . .haha.
It is really cool that you said that you are thankful that one of your prayers was not answered and you were okay with it, rather than being mad about it. I am glad God granted some of your prayers though!!
Thanks so much for sharing this (again, I know this is an old vid).
My kids don't ever want to come out so they all need to be induced. I don't even dilate until 30 mins before birthing (even being nearly 42 weeks in with my first).
I too have grown huge breasts. I was a 32B when I first got pregnant and went up to a G cup haha. Now, I am a 34DDD (23 weeks pregnant) and will probably go to an H. I was a 34C/D before getting pregnant this time. That engorged feeling is not fun at all. I look forward to having small breasts again so my buttons on all my clothes stop popping open and I can wear my normal clothes without having to buy anything new.

That was so good to watch. I’m not pregnant or intend to again (I have 4 - 2 girls, ID twin boys). My first birth was a very traumatic one - nearly didn’t make it out but I took control of the rest at delivered all naturally with gas and air (epidural failed with second birth and twin birth) I felt it all!! I get what you mean about I want to do it again. Our bodies are amazing at creating new life. ❤

Wow! Such a great video! Idk how i have been following your channel so long and only am just not finding this video but i loved it! I love that when your husband knew you were in labor he went to do the dishes. I have wanted to do a homebirth but i think the messy home would be distracting. Maybe i could plan to have my husband do the dishes 😂👌🏼 until we eventually do a homebirth i am at tourmaline birth center in PB again for this next baby and i LOVE it there so i am not bummed at all. Anyways, thanks for sharing your story!!

As for water breaking, though, you have more like 48 hours or longer after water breaks to go into labor. Some women have waited 4 to 5 days!
