It's sad that the US destroys itself over racism. We have no public transit, our schools are de facto segregated, and our healthcare system sucks. Ron Paul called MLK a communist in his newsletters and then ran for president in 2008 and 2012. It's always been there.
As a southerner, I have thoroughly enjoyed this very good ol boy saga, especially with garrisons very upbeat delivery 😂. There is no better way to treat these clowns
It's that Reconstruction was completely botched after the assassination of Lincoln. And somehow, 10 years after the war, the southern democrats had the political upper hand. I honestly think that Reconstruction should have continued for another century.

If not for Roberts professional integrity (if it exists) and the fact Garrison seems VERY intelligent and mature, I'd be worried about if they were being groomed. Why would a relationship between them be grooming? Garrison is old enough to make their own decisions. I think they just like Robert's presentation style and tend to fall into that themselves.

The Wild Man from Sugar Creek is good, narrative biography. You all did a great job sharing that story as Anderson tells it. The book is from the 1970s and the author’s approach is shaped by what he knew then. It would be great for a newer biography that includes perspectives from newer political science and African American history. Someone could probably find the names of the young men who were given to Ol’ Gene’s farm, or the porter who rode the train with them back from the Kentucky Derby. That resilience would be fascinating to know more about. Also Herman’s story as a Governor and US Senator is also colorful and full of crazy stories. Could be fodder for a future episode, although maybe your audience has had enough Georgia history for a while😂
The existence of people like Moscow Marge Greene makes a lot more sense to me now. I've been wondering for a while if Georgians are widely unhinged or if the majority of sane Georgians are cripplingly politically apathetic.
If you look it up, they literally just took an airport prt vehicle and made it slightly bigger and want to run it on normal streets. It's completely idiotic.
I actually had a dream about one of those shitty Tesla toaster buses. I was riding one to the airport at about fifteen miles an hour, and then when I finally arrived I realized I had no reason to be there and I'd just wasted my afternoon.
Part of me feels weirdly vindicated that this type of politician isn't a novel issue and that it has happened in the past. Mainly because these people didn't forever shape what our country became.
To be fair - it’s on air suspension that does go up. Same as a kneeling bus. It’s just an autonomous Uber xxxl. We’d hate it less if the ceo wasn’t a tool, but the people who work there are good engineers

The Moore’s Ford lynching in July 1946 also affected the Arnall stance on civil rights that summer. One of the persons killed was a veteran. National media covered it. Newer scholarship than Anderson cite the role of a Talmadge rally in inflaming the lynch mob sentiment in that community.

I'm with Robert -- the front of the Tesla van, at least, does have that sort of Streamline Moderne look. The back, tough, is pretty fugly. It's basically the locomotive of a train, but without, you know, train-ness.
I'm so sick and tired of the idea that these poor, poor people who grew up in systems that privileged them and ONLY them need comfort and support to get over the idea of SHARING privilege, not even of losing any of their unearned privilege.
