An excellent professional review. thank you. I just ordered Crime and Punishment and would like to order more. I love their use of comic book artists for the illustrations (the majority, thus far), or at least those who have made the jump from comics to illustration. Some brilliant choices like Jim Woodring and Paul Pope.

Haha, no I did not! For the moment, I am still keeping them in the boxes but I don’t like that it’s a barrier to enjoying them…

@UCiQJhPLLDr1uLOYrZnr8llQ Yes, waaaay cheaper on Book Depository and Amazon AU to get them to Oz. I actually wanted to back the kickstarter a few years ago, but the shipping was INSANE, so I was really pleasantly surprised they came onto the general market through retailers. I ordered one from each - unashamedly forum shopping for the cheapest editions, ha - the prices seem to fluctuate quite frequently so I keep an eye on the ones I want and grab a copy when they drop to a level I think I can bear!
@@BeautifulBooks Just got to the section on your video where you said you did. Heh. Sorry commenting and watching same time (Bad habit!). Did you order both from Book Depository? I heard some horror stories about their shocking after sales service level. But with Amazon suspending some international shippings (I know they own Book Depository, but it looks like BD is carrying on with international shipping in this pandemic environment), and purchases from Beehive Books being so much more expensive.... PS: Or perhaps store them flat on their backs....?
@@TwoMiceOnMyBookshelf Historically, I've had nothing but great service from both BD and Amazon. On the very rare occasion I've had books go missing or get damaged en route, they've replaced them with no drama at all, and the after sales support has been lovely. (I buy a lot of books with them though, haha.) However, things right now aren't great - I've had a few preorders cancelled at the last minute (or, past the last minute, as in after the release date) which is pretty annoying because then you can't get the preorder discount. And BD shipments are taking forrrrrreeeeevvvvvveeerrrrrrrr... But to be fair, I don't think that it is their fault at all - so few international flights into Australia right now, Melbourne airport closed, all shipments backed up for months, and books I'm sure are a really low priority for freight. (In fact, I sent a letter to the UK a few days ago and the post office told me it would probably go sea mail even though I paid for air because there just weren't any other options.) There are quite a few retailers who won't even send things to Oz at the moment. Also worth noting, Amazon don't charge your card until the book ships, while BD charge straight away but refund if they can't source it, which can be a consideration if you're preordering far in advance. Usually I just go for the cheaper option though, because it has only been just recently that the cancelling thing has become an issue...
@@BeautifulBooks Ugh, I have gone the BD route because I can lock the exchange rate. Not that it is particularly great right now. Yes, those last minutes pre-order cancelations have been annoying a lot of people. Yes, mails from the USA has gone the same route with payment for air yet shipped by sea because of lack of options. Same with items on Amazon USA now not shipping to New Zealand at all, and others in Europe too. I have three books with Black Letter Press stuck there for months since they can not ship to Oceania yet.... By my current very rough calculation, BD and Amazon USA seems to translate to the same NZD....

At the moment I think they are only producing these volumes in English, because they are limited editions.
