what do you like about yourself? start with that, it may just be what you want in your partner. what do you admire in a person? if you have friends or classmates or acquaintances, what are things you admire about them? try to embody that, you're young and you should explore yourself. what are things about yourself that you think attract people (not just romantically but also platonically)? what are things about yourself you want people to notice and like about you?

But I know when I like a girl. I haven’t been able to pick up on a pattern besides I find them attractive and I enjoy their personality.
Actually now that I think about it, personality wise I do really like girls that are super talkative. Though I feel like most people like that because it makes them feel like that person is actually interested in them 🧐

Just heard someone say: "People find it attractive when they see someone with a trait they have repressed in themselves. But they repressed that trait for a reason and if they can't learn to appreciate [The behavior they repressed within themselves] it will become uncomfortable to be around that person." So in other words the way that opposites attract is when they can meet in the middle, or respect each other despite their differences. (So if you aren't compatible, don't force it and play it off saying opposites attract because thats gonna turn toxic.)

Just started watching this video on my home page and I couldn't look away. It shocks me how accurate and helpful this information really is. Over the last 2-3 years especially I've learned a lot about how to interact with people I like and I've arrived to a point where everything you said in this video is my exact perspective on things, word for word. I'm starting to really try and get my identity together as I enter into my 20s and one thing you mentioned really impacted me; am I full enough, complete enough, worthy enough, or ready enough to give to someone else? Currently, the answer is no. And I'm sure it will continue to be no for quite some time until I figure who the hell I am and how to be a decent human being. Thank you for reassuring me. It's nice to know that other people with this perspective on life still do exist.

This year I’ve learned that in order to have peace with yourself, you need to be comfortable with the idea that what you “should” or “shouldn’t” be is *impossible* to fulfill. Everyone has preferences and they are infinitely different, take a moment to consider that.
You just cannot treat changing yourself in order to appeal to someone’s view as an improvement of character; YOU are the character, if it’s not an improvement of YOU then it’s worthless.
Find the things you want in yourself: fitness, smarts, conversational ability, etc. and work on those.
Amazing vid, you speak eloquently. 💪🏽

Hey Shimon, love your channel and what you put out there for people, it’s really helped me a lot the past few months with all these helpful ways to improve myself and my surroundings, and how to take care of my health and soul.
There’s this book that’s been on my mind recently in regards to my self-improvement path though, and it’s called Franny and Zooey. In it, the main character Franny uses self-improvement through religion and school in order to get closer to God. Her brother Zooey helps her realize though that, in her path of growth, she is outgrowing her loved ones and is in turn “leaving God behind…”
From this, I’m left with this struggle on how to balance self-improvement with acceptance. If you get the chance to read this (or of course anyone else!), I’d love to hear your thoughts :)

Have you ever fucked up by being too clingy? I fucked up in my last relationship, because when it was over, instead of letting go, i feel in love again. I practically forced her to interact with me. I kept texting her all day and night. I forced some trust issues and clingyness onto myself, which are now showing up with new people.

I would advise that you work on your security and self love. This is not to be mean but something I struggled with as a teen that I had to actively work on. Get comfortable with being alone. Only when you feel comfortable alone, can you seek somebody to be an ADDITION to your life, not the focus of it. Nobody wants to be on a pedestal because it's too much pressure. Security in yourself will naturally bring you confidence and a stronger, unique personality that will attract people. People will come to you like a magnet when they see that your expression of self-love doesn't take into consideration how others might perceive you because no matter how many people deny it, we use trends as a way to bot stick out too much and stay with the herd, but we all secretly wish we could express ourselves in a more raw way. Not giving a shit is the biggest step to getting anything else you want in life. Not in the sense of "whatever happens, happens", but more like "I'm going to pursue this thing with intention and show my effort regardless of success". Idk when trying became uncool, but truth is only the losers live with that mentality. True unique individuals who draw the attention of others do it effortlessly because people crave that security in themselves but won't openly say that. They'll observe you and want to be close to you to find what makes you special so they can feel that themselves. Good luck friend 🙏🏽

Best advice I ever got was to open with anything. Of course, don’t make it sexual or use a crass joke, but comment on the person’s shoes, glasses, or some other object they have in hand.
You can ask them what time it is then tell them that you have some minutes to spare and would like to talk to them. You can even ask them out of the blue if they speak another language. Whether they do or don’t, you can start a conversation from there.
What I’ve noticed is that most people are pretty open and friendly. Some might have a serious or intimidating look to them but are really nice once you start talking to them.
Just maintain a natural flow and you can make a conversation about anything last a while.
Don’t fall into the trap of wanting to sound intellectual or profound within the first 30 seconds of meeting them. Just establish a basic connection and remember details they tell you about themselves for your next conversation. It will make them feel appreciated.
If you talk to them often enough, higher quality conversations where you reveal your worth will come. Just have patience and confidence. That’s literally it.

"Just flow" doesn't really mean anything to me other than what everyone else says about" just relax" "just be yourself" well damn it if i could just be confident i wouldn't have the problem in the first place. I've never really been a person to put myself into a lot of people, until the internet, but luckily I only did that for a short period of time. Now loving myself was something I haven't realized until recently as well, when I head about a crush I had was doing all these things, I'm like dang, i'm not really doing anything to make myself worthy. So I've been taking myself seriously day by day, and I can see a difference. Anyways video was super helpful loved everything he explained.

Honestly, just be yourself, if you like each other great. If the other person doesn´t like you, but you like him it's okay. Don't be with a person who doesn't like you, and don't change yourself. If you will be yourself, you automatically will start talking about each other interests, and so on. Anyways, anyone who read this, have a great day!
