For power issues on pod miner, if the 02gen isn't really needed, just chuck another full sized battery in its place. I need to start using sorters, keep things tidier.
The one con I found with sorters is that you cannot pull components from the system through the block that is being sorted out of. So if in his setup he wanted to grab components from the large container through the refinery, he will not be able to. It is not a huge deal but something to keep in mind with bigger setups.
@@jenbak2 Yeah I like sorters, but that issue can get annoying. One of the reasons I always default on using an inventory script lol. Mainly Isy's Inventory Manager. Obviously that is something xbox players cannot do, but PS and PC can.
I am a two week old Space Engineer and I would like to offer a cockpit hot bar tip. I put my hot keys in a specific order. From left to right, I put the battery in the #1 slot, engines in #2 and #3 slots and finally I put the docking connector in the #4 slot. Two engine keys ya say? Yes. I make two engine groups. The first group covers all thrusters except the rear/ backward thrusters. Then I make a group of all the rear thrusters, that way, I can turn off the rear thrusters when moving forward, so the ship doesn’t try and stop when I let go of the forward thrust key. It will be like turning off the dampening thrusters on your suit ship in space. Think of it as cruise control. Keep her level and she will stay at the constant speed you set, so you are saving battery power, hydrogen fuel and whatever else is used for a ship in atmosphere or space. Then when you get close to your landing site just turn on the rear thrusters and she automatically wants to stop. Then maneuver as normal. When I touch the docking collar, I hit the keys, 4 lock, 3 and 2 engines off and 1 battery recharge. That way I am secured and locked to the docking collar before engine and power is cut to the ship. Especially if you are using a side docking collar. If you turn off the engines or battery power before you are locked to a side docking collar your ship will drop like a rock and then bad things happen. To take off reverse the order, 1 battery auto(power to the ship), 2 and 3 engines on and 4 unlock the docking collar. The lift off as usual. It took me ONE time of my little ship falling and being destroyed from a side collar. I thought there had to be a better way and came up with this checklist. So if you haven’t thought about that, here ya go. I hope that new people to Space Engineers see this and take heed. Love your videos and subbed btw. Thanks for sharing and take care! 🫡🫡🫡🫡
For sorter/filter setups offloading from connectors to production pipeline you might want to consider adding subroutes that connect from connector to other parts as well as the refinery for future (or at least leave some space for conveyor junctions behind sorters) for the eventuality that you will have grinder/welder ships that can load/offload components to the same pipeline. I usually end up having seperate containers for each ore, ingot and component down the line and track them via event controllers these days so I know what I am running low on. This is very far ahead from the point of the video but it is nice to have some flexibility to build upon by leaving yourself some working space to make extensions connect
when you first start a quick way to unlock is grind things down on your pod just below the usable mark and then weld them back up this will allow you to unlock progression with out a walk throgh on the game like others the progression does not make much sense
i would of removed the o2 gen and placed a battery there liking the build so far i keep starting over due to accidents and things and working out a clean base layout as been the worst
Im kinda surprised nobody really does landing lights on their approach to the base, like real life has for planes to know which way to go when visibility isn't good.
A nice series, but I would suggest you use a mod that reduces tool, refinery and assembly volumes. I think there's one called 'sneaky sounds' that does some of this.
I always play with progression, though still can't remember what unlocks what in what order, I do prefer it to just having everything unlocked off the bat
In North America, homely means "plain and unattractive." It did derive from the original meaning of "like home," but I guess our homes are plain and unattractive. You must want your base to feel like an unattractive North American home. XD
Re-upload, previous one cut off for some reason and had trouble getting it back

that is cool it is amazing when you get the hang of things how quickly you can proceed

5:38 "Make sure they line up"
*they don't*
"Perfect!"
Thought they did? I might be seeing things
My bad, looks like I'm seeing things. Maybe I had too much clang cola
ship was missing an armor block along the side of the cockpit which makes it look uneven
Very nice video.
Been playing a long time and I never use sorters. I'm going to start after watching this

the entrance being Light Blue, white and the door being yellow ressembles the Argentine flag lol
14:51 bro forgot his cheats on 😭

With the new Signal Update this is actually very easy to do now as well.
I would have added a couch and a gaming computer for your avatar to get his game on after work.

I will turn audio down the next episodes!
I don't mind the sounds at all. It's realism. Have you ever tried using a jackhammer or an angle grinder? That's just about how they sound in person
Progression mode is so annoying. Your an engineer out in the field and your supposed to learn as you go? Crazy!
I always play with progression, though still can't remember what unlocks what in what order, I do prefer it to just having everything unlocked off the bat
Getting 9 mid roll ads kinda puts a damper on the whole thing. UA-cam go brrrr
