Tony Hawk is the dude of dudes. He constantly supports skating, understands where he is, but has the humbleness to always give tips to a skater of any level. There is no one else alive in my opinion that pushes an art/sport as hard as he does, but also understands the level the art form is. Old skater here... 80s & 90s.... love how THPS2 is Tony's fave - it was the turning point of skateboard videgames. Most important skateboarding game along with SKATE...
I'm glad Tony's favorite game is Pro Skater 2. That's always been my favorite of the series, it really took all the aspects of the first game and just took it to all new levels. It really just did everything right.
I’m 40 and haven’t seriously touched a skateboard in 25 years. Still drawn to anything Tony Hawk and X-Games. I can remember how skateboarding was before both.
Ability wise probably not the best skater ever but he is such a great spoke person and ambassador for skating. I'm glad he's the skater that has the most attention and the most marketed, can't think of a better dude.
I love that his favorite Tony Hawk game is #2. It may not have the manual ability to keep a run going indefinitely like in #3, but it's the one that I grew up on though and it's my personal favorite. It's a bit slower than #3 and for me it feels just right.
I like how Tony Hawk always says he started skateboarding when skateboarding wasn't popular. What he forgets to say is that his father was the president of some skateboarding Association which gave him the opportunity to skate at Skate Parks everyday. A few years after that they tore down all the skateparks. In my opinion Tony Hawk was born at the perfect time for skateboarding.
Hawk was specifically speaking about skateboarding. And there is no objectiv scaling for it. You don't have something measurable like speed, time, heigh or distance in it. Of course there is a fastest one in sprinting.
I love that even at 50+ he is still a teen and has not changed his lingo lol. I love it. Hope he never changes. Would love to see him enter another tournament.
