Twice a year, Crater Lake closes the perimeter roads to vehicle traffic. It's ~35mi of long climbs and long (and fun) descents. Doable but tiring. HIGHLY reccomend. Last year about halfway through one of the longer climbs, I ran into this crazy older guy jogging the thing. I would pass him, and taking small breaks here and there to take a pic or get some water. Every time I stopped within a minute or two I would see him round a corner and we would occasionally leapfrog back and forth. I could not believe how hard it was to shake him. He said he skipped the first section, but his endurance was still impressive.
That Summit Ave hill was the bane of my youth
🤣 it’s a tough one

That honestly sounds super fun! I’m gonna have to go check that out!
Kevin should be the next GCN: Twin Cities correspondent.
That sounds like a good time!
I thought the bike would be faster on all. I’m surprised. Cool video
You and me both!
That was so fun!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm so glad to know that even the pros' quads burn biking the Ohio hill. I've definitely been passed by runners on that hill too! Super fun video
Thank you so much!
