I really like how Carey throws himself into these songs. Bruford's effortless cool has given way to a somewhat more savage approach...both are excellent, it's just interesting to hear a different take, while staying true to the music. Vai is brilliant. Looking forward to the shows in Indianapolis and Louisville🤗
The show was as good as it gets.i loved the way Steve melded his and Roberts styles together. Adrian has not lost a thing vocaly and with his soundscapes.danny and Tony were so in sync Danny emulating bill perfectly. Great job to all the band members thank you for sharing this cosmic experience. May you ever sonicly please the ears of those fortunate enough to listen.
I was here at this show and you can tell from this video and it's sound quality that the overall sound quality in the Civic was great. LOUD. But great. Love this show. Go if you have the chance, you won't be disappointed!
Way too loud for the auditorium. Overpressurized bigtime. We heard that from a bunch of folks in the lobby at intermission. I got earplugs and we returned to our seats and all was better.
God did Steve NAIL it! I'm a huge Robert fan, but Steve is a force to be reckoned with! His solos here were otherworldly! He took these parts to new levels! I was 100% mesmerized! (I was at this show, loved every moment. Go if you can, you won't be disappointed.)
I've noticed that even for such experienced professionals, the first few gigs are usually not among the best of the tour. This was great, but it will get better as they get used to playing this live together.
@@esjope yes i got this experience with tony williams in 1992, i saw them at the begginning of a european tour, they was far much relax and creative two month later, at the end of it
The title states King Crimson, this is NOT King Crimson. Two ex-members does not add up to the great King. Not knocking the music or musicians, just your ability to title the video. Get it together man.. 😂
...mmmm... sorry but.... Fripp and Bruford are in another level .... it's sacrilege that Vai's sounds trying to mimic Fripp ... and the essence of the original "box" percussion is totally lost with the drum kit by Carey .... very dissapointing .... just a "tribute" band
I strongly suspect nobody on this planet can play Fripp's parts like Fripp can. He is the best ever. I liked this, but Vai is no Fripp I appreciate him trying.
I had to come back to this..... the solo Steve Vai did here is spectacular!!

I love Vai's low profile on this. He's there to be just another blue-collar worker. Classy.
He's *really* had to push himself to pull this gig off, it's great to see him take it so seriously!
@@karlboman OK, but he sucks at playing this.

Soooo looking forward to this show next month.
I'm with you brother! I've seen Crimson 5 or 6 times, including in 1984, and this was just FANTASTIC.

Steve Vai succeeded in being true to Robert Fripp's spirit and to himself at the same time. What an achievement !
Something really great seeing Vai being a part of a group of players and being really tested.
@@MoggioMTB Imagine a scenario where Steve Vai is the weak link. SV is so impetuous for taking on this material. Salute!!! And thx.
Oooohhhh....my favorite King Crimson song !
Goosebumps in a warm bath! Love these guys! And Bruford and Fripp as well ❤very soothing❤
Steve's solo starting at 6:46 is one of the greatest guitar solos I've ever heard.
I am a happy man. Thank you Mr Vai & Mr Carey.
Just blown away by how good this is. I didn't even think it was 10 minutes long :)
Best version of this live by far..absolutely incredible
FRIPPERVAITRONICS as its wildest !

I'm just gonna say that these are some career defining performances. This is Steve as I've never heard him before.
Vai being Vai! no Frippertron involved! I'm totally impressed with Danny Carey! Bill's shoes are large shoes to fill, percussionally(?🧐)
Already loving Vai for this project. Brilliant move!
Best I've heard him. That material makes the man? I don't know, but Steve did his woodshedding and he NAILED it.
Carey is a pretty brilliant fit, too!
Thank you for uploading this gems❣️ First thing I searched on youtube this morning.. Hope you got some more ❤️🔥✨🎶
whaoo, nice Steve ! you got it !
Belew and Tony are the real Allstars here.
Can’t wait to see them in Reno
The Stick sounds awesome Tony!
Can't wait to see this tour
Cool! Going to their November 25th show in Vancouver. So excited! Like a kid on Christmas morning.
nice footage
I absolutely agree
Incredible this band!!!
Very much looking forward to the Toronto show, particularly after seeing this.
Thank you!!!
Brilliantly expected😊
This is very good start from Vai, I was waiting to see what he would do on this title, some more shows and he will be more comfortable for sure

Simply Amazing
goosebumps.....
Ah, puttin' a little "Stevie English" on there. Love it!
This is fantastic 🎊
Thank you ScreamingCat !
Amazing
Napa tonight baby!😊
Awesome!
Thank you op
Awesome! Please upload more👍
Thanks for this taste.
wow
Nice.
Amazing….😮
Shouldn't Steve be sitting down? Anyway, surprisingly great sound from just a video shot from the audience!
It does not matters
7:14 …a little “For The Love Of God” quote in the middle of “Sheltering Sky”. Guess it can’t get much more BEAT than that!!!!
Steve is laying into the weirdness.. Nice.
Tony, with the Live in Frejos outfit
Me vuelvo loco
Steve should be sitting and Danny should be standing 😂
Is this video going to a blank white screen for anybody else?
Robert are you watching
Bet Robert Fripp has listened to these outtakes PROUDLY! 🫡
Vertical Hair Factor on this one. And as a Parker owner myself, Belew's twang bar guitar sounds much better in these clips.
They sound great...Maybe a hair too fast on this? IMHO...
Most definitely be more refined at that point

lol I did that so people could find it; yes I realize it is not technically correct :)
Bad audio

I'M DISAPPOINTED IN VAI PERFORMANCE SEEMS LIKE HE'S SITTING ON THE SIDELINES
