Having seen the Munich 1982 version of "Sheltering Sky" earlier today, I loved that again, but don't like all the improvising on this version as the song loses it's vital trance quality from all the dynamic interplay. Interesting ro listen to, but would go back to a Crimson version for a flush or a brush next time.
@@nelsonanthoine6293 I love the improv, I don’t want to hear the record when I go to a live show. Everyone there was buzzing about that tune after the show. But everyone’s different.
Are you kidding me? I have seen Crimson over a dozen times and Belew Power trio over 10 times.and this is probably one of the best shows I have seen in my life!! Besides the mental Zappa connection that Adrian and Steve have add Tony and a powerhouse like Danny (much respect) This show is pure magic skill and just a musical giant in today's lackluster music!!
@keithp8521 I was only speaking to the versions of "Sheltering Sky", not comparing concerts, and the 'overly expected and enacted guitar dynamics' (and histrionics w/Vai?), that reduce the trance inducing and calming element in the early '80s KC versions (which I like).
@@thomasbeal8673 What do you mean by “those two”? Danny stuck to Bruford’s part exactly, although he played it on his pads. And I thought Vai’s solo was awesome. If I want the album, I’ll just play that.
Getting to see King Crimson for that tour was special. Seeing this looks like it was too!
@2:51 Tony snapping a shot for his collection.. capo..!
This performance brought tears of joy to my eyes- thank you for sharing it.
You're welcome! It was a pleasure to be there.
This is a big WOW on a long studied magical tour of learning and improvise! Wow again and THANKS!!!!!
unbelievable...........belew..........at his best!!!!!!!
Belew is always at his beat :)

Ohhhhhhhhhhh.....Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh!😍😜🤪
Tony casually taking photos at 2:50 while 1-handing the stick. Love to see it
Pure magic ... Vai

UK come on 2025 calls please
I never really understood the point of this song... now I don't understand it twice as much
@@asammler It’s not for everybody, no music is. It’s a hypnotic mood in between a barrage of craziness. It cleanses the pallet.
IMHO I'm sorry but those two are slaughtering the song. It's almost embarrassing. Enough said.
