I’m so glad you said what you did about the colours. I got ‘shade matched’ in store and when I brought it home and put it all over my face it was SO yellow! And I’m cool toned 😂 Thank goodness I only got a sample! Great review x

I'm really late commenting, but I just came over from stephanie langs channel, and watching some of your videos, which I LOVE! So glad i found you! I love clinique foundations and skin care. Their other makeup is a little pricey, but I always try n get their gift with purchase and have tried other products and they aren't bad at all. But I ONLY use their three step system for cleaning, toning, moisturizing, I love it, have use it for years. And when I had acne I used the acne solutions and it literally changed my life, I swear by it! I havent tried this foundation yet, I like the super balance and beyond perfecting. Gonna need to try this.

I love your foundation reviews! I got a sample of this from boots as well and tried it yesterday. So far I’m loving it. The formula is strange-it’s like a sticky gel but does somehow last. After a long day at work yesterday it still looked great. I was expecting it to melt off given the sticky ness. I agree oily skins will hate it but I’m combo , slightly(ahem) ageing and it was just on the right side of glowy on me. Just wish they would sort out their shade range so everyone could enjoy it 😕x
I know! With Beyond perfecting foundation the shade ivory was a good match for me but when I tried the same shade in super balance one I looked way too pink 😵

I have this in the shade custard, and I use a lot less of it than you did. The coverage is still good (I guess I don't expect full coverage) and it also dries well on me, no major stickiness. I also love the Even Better Glow, and I don't think they are similar at all! So much for different opinions. :-) x
Weirdly here in hk I’ve got a nice neutral shade in even better glow, it’s labelled fair neutral no61 ivory. The 60s numbers aren’t available in the U.K./US and in the U.K. shades ivory I believe is a cool toned shade.
I tend to steer clear of Clinique foundations due to the overwhelming preachiness of 5he light shades in general. I may try and find a shade in this one, though.

I find their shade range the most frustrating. In even better original I am always matched to ivory which they say is neutral however it is more pink . The best I had was buff but was a shade to light so frustrating. And I am never ivory in other brands x
The original even better foundation did expand their shade range a little while back and they have a light enough shade for me and it’s a perfect match.
The deeper shades are still massively lacking, as are the neutral tones and the fact that every one of their foundations has a different range isn't helpful either!! X

I went to buy the concealer and foundation in one (I forget the exact name of it) but I told them the shade I wore in the even better and when I used what they sent me home with was very pink and when it dried down it was darker and even more pink. It was awful. I ended up giving it to a friend. So many brands think that if you’re very fair that you must have pink under tones 🤨
On your skin all fondations look really good 😊. Can you pls make one day video "battle" - tasting on massmarket pressed powders like Bourjois, L'oreal, Maxfactor......???

How do you think this would wear on more mature (70’s) skin? I saw Pampered Wolf review No7’s Hydraluminous Moisturizing Foundation (I don’t believe it’s available in the US yet), and it looks lovely. Any thoughts on that one? I dont think I'd recommend it to mature skin because of the sinking into lines. Obviously I only have more fine lines just yet, so my guess is on deeper wrinkles it would be a bigger problem but definitely try a sample x
I'm not sure where you're based but in the UK its only 34 shades with 1 shade that could even be called 'deep' and poor undertones throughout. Regardless, a high number of shades doesn't make a decent shade range in my opinion x

Charlotte Holdcroft you’re absolutely right! The best shade match I’ve ever found was in the even better foundation but it’s so tacky and transfers that I can only wear it if I’m going out for a few hours. I use it more to mix with thicker fuller coverage foundations like the Becca ultimate coverage and it works well with that.

I also use Stone in Even Better original, I've found that Cream Chamois is a close-ish match. It's moderately fair and slightly warm like Stone

To be fair, the original formula of Even Better foundation has a 56 shade range. Natural finish; same buildable coverage.
