What sub genre of metal are you?
Kvelertak: Yes.
The song is about Even Olsen Tagholdt(EOT) borned at Tagholdt in Lund 1807, and died in 1859, and burried 158 years later.
EOT gets into a poor enviroment and is sentenced to slavery after theft, after this he makes his way to Stavanger.
EOT makes contact with his last daughter, as the other had died early, he meets a friend of her named Hanna who he gets a relationship with.
She works for a wealthy farmer named Byberg in Stavanger, who is also "Haugean":
A Pietistic state church reform movement intended to bring new life and vitality into the Church of Norway which had been often characterized by formalism and lethargy.
The movement emphasized personal diligence, enterprise and frugality.
Byberg spends very little of his wealth and Hanna is both freezing and starving at his place.
EOT and Hanna decided to steal his wealth, but EOT also decide to kill him.
25. februar 1854 EOT beat Byberg head with a hammer, but he doesnt die right away, so EOT hangs him and makes it look like suicide.
They dream of starting over in America, and EOT despirately tries to find a way.
The police discovers that Byberg did not kill himself and start an investigation and hunt for the two.
Hanna is caught first and keep her silenve for a long time before breaking, later EOT is caught.
EOT is sentenced to death in Stavanger, but the Supreme Court rules him to lifetime slavery instead.
Hanna is sent to Kristiansand, EOT is first at Bergenshus, and then Akershus where he is put into the group completely without rights.
EOT dies 7. oktober 1859, destroyed, worn out and pneumonia takes him out.
For unkown reasons his body finds its way to Stavanger Museum where citizens have judged his remains until 2019.
The Council of Ethics Museum and the church decides in 2019 to finally bury him at Moi in Lund(not far from where he was borned).
"We shall judge him no more. He got his judgment and sentenced it in the worst possible way. It is finished" - Museum Statement.
Around 40 people meet up to his funeral, Ivar Nikolaisen is home with his parents when he hears the bells and start investigating EOTs story.
"Fanden ta dette hull"/ "F this hole" was found carved in a cell where EOT served.
Reminds me of Heksebrann, which is my favorite song on Nattesferd. And this is my favorite song on Splid, funnily enough.

I keep trying to memorize lyrics so I can sing along. In eight years I've memorized the chorus from three songs. Only the chorus. I mostly just scream YEEAAAHH at shows.
@@lesaboteurfrancais348 I learn norwegian since 2017 and even when I memorize some of the lyrics, it's almost impossible to sing along in Bokmål's accent because they are Nynorsk from a very different dialect, now i'm trying to learn Nynorsk as well just so I can sing their songs
@@leoaraujo8590Not to be a nitpicker but neither bokmål or nynorsk are dialects, they are written languages, not spoken ones. You do have some dialects that are close to both forms however, especially nynorsk since it's based on different Norwegian dialects.
I love this band. Saw them in Portland, OR a few years ago. I literally counted 52 people in the crowd. And they absolutey slayed.

I just love this band. That one lead guitar lick feels very Thin Lizzy, then you get hit in the face with something closer to Slayer right in the middle, and there's some AC/DC in there as well. Still it all fits together. Fucking amazing.

Never said I don't like the "tame" parts of Kvelertak songs. In fact, that mix, their distinguished "Kevlertak sound" as you called it, is the exact reason I got into them in the first place. So, sorry if I've been "unthinkingly disrespectful" to anyone with my lighthearted jest at a band that I am a huge fan of ever since their very first album.

Its actually the guitarist (Maciek) who sings this bit. He sings sometimes on parts of a verse on their recordings and live :) But yea, he sounds more "angry" and aggressive haha

It's kinda difficult to me, but this is so boring to hear, it's ok for a more strong fan if he like it, but since the last album, it feels like they starting to like more the rock genere than the metal genere. It's not for me.

@@villyexplorer9482 I don't think you and I need to agree on what's boring for you and for me, That's the reason I said that if someone likes the song it's ok, for me, It was like the new album of Behemoth, I don't like it, it's boring for me, and in the same way, I love Septicflesh but some people said that they don't offer anything relevant or exciting to the symphonic metal. It's just different taste for music. My comment was more a reaction to a frustration that I love the first two albums of Kvelertak and the new stuff it's just not my cup of tea. I hear already the two songs that they released, and it doesn't do it for me, was boring. And for me it could be metal, but I feel that it's more related to rock and roll than to metal, and for the two early albums for me, there where more near to the metal sound.

I don't have a problem with people not liking it, but I just can't see how people can think this song is boring compared to their other songs. Bad? Maybe, that's subjective. Boring? No way. They're literally switching between rock n roll and thrash.
@@villyexplorer9482 But why that would be necessarily not boring, that's what I meant, I love horror movies, and some people found them boring, and I could think: but how? it's horror, it's scary, but some people are not into scary movies. It's the same here, for me their changes wasn't at all something interesting to me. When they start the thrash rifts I thought I would be better, but nope, didn't catch me at all.
