    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    I’m in awe. I can’t believe you do 14 clients a day with 30 min appointments. You’re gonna give yourself a heart attack 😳. I feel pushed at my salon and I have an hour per client (just for gel on natural nails). How long does it take you to do a 4 to 5 week fill ( I mean with shortening the nails, cuticle work, rebalancing the apex)? I honestly want to know how to cut back on the time I spend doing nails but after 3 years of trying, it still takes me an hour and a half for long nails 😢

    I just switched to YN acrylic from whatever main brand Cosmoprof sells and can say that just using YN has shaved 15+ minutes off my services. I could never get the consistency right with the other brand, it was just too finicky and unpredictable. YN is so much easier to work with and no lifting!

      There's a clientele for every tech, some clients appreciate a high quality set in a timely manor as they have places to be. Certainly if someone requested an additional amount of time as long as you are charging for it there's no problem with that! If you and your clients are happy then no need to change right.

    I just started holding the fingers from the top side instead of underneath. It helps immensely with movement and lets the dust fall into my extractor fan vs all over my hands. The one thing I do that I haven’t seen anyone else do so far is hold my polish bottle while I polish. I hold the finger between my thumb and pointer finger and the bottle rests in my palm supported by my pinky. I thinks it’s strange to keep the bottle on the table and go back and forth from bottle to hand. Does anyone else hold theirs?

    • @superior.beauty

    What kind of glitter was used for her last set? Was it encapsulated or gel polish?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 роки тому

      It's a glitter mix of Crushed Pearl, Waterfall and High Tide glitters. Unfortunately, the last 2 are no longer available. It was a glitter press on top of the nail, not encapsulated.

      protein bond is your primer. We also apply it on our acrylic & hard gel before gel polish or gel top coat so help prevent chipping/peeling.

      Depends on what you are doing, sometimes it gets cloudy from color or bits of glitter get in it in that case we'd change it out but just working on regular fills no need to change every time

  • @mademoisellekaya1438
    @mademoisellekaya1438 5 років тому +1

    Ther's only one thing.. the speed is truly a art.. my complete respect to that! However..
    As a client I think that I wouldn't go back to a salon that works that way.. I would feel myself just a money bringing person who gets kick out as fast as possible and that was it. Not 1 bit of social relaxing in it, not one bit feeling respected but a moneypit. My purse is the only interesting thing about me.. And I could even have left the words 'about me' out of the last sentence.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому +1

      Understood and fair enough points, if you see the next video in this series (posted today) we actually touch on these topics and how our client has our undivided attention for their amount of time. Working faster while still creating quality product simply allows us to charge our clients fair prices instead of doubling the cost to make a reasonable living. Most clients enjoyed knowing they could get in and out quickly with quality nails because they themselves had a busy day. So where it is true some may enjoy a longer service I would leave it at that there is a clientele for everyone and technicians that specialize in services that match your needs, the point of this series is to give techs a look at ways they could be cutting down their time (if that is their goal)

    If someone wanted to change shape is that included in the fill or extra?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  7 місяців тому

      It may depend on the shape they are changing to. If it’s a simple change that can be done in shortening (for example going from stiletto to almond), you could include that in your rebalance price. However if it’s a completely different shape (stiletto to square), that would be an extra charge since you may have to clip off the free edge and re-sculpt to be the different shape.

    Don't we have to cut the cuticle with a nipper? Is my only question otherwise I just admire this amazing speed of yours! It's awesome!!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому

      nope, cutting the cuticle with clippers opens up opportunity to cut your client leaving them exposed to harsh chemicals during service. the bit she uses around the cuticle area is more than enough for cuticle work. if by the end of the service there is something left that needs to be cleaned up that would be the time, but most often after all the maintenance there is nothing left. especially on your return clients with regularly manicured nails.

      The slipping around the tip happens when you are in contact but going the wrong direction. We don't stay in contact with the nail and move back and forth we come in contact to pull towards us then lift up then back pulling towards us again.

    How do you avoid carpal tunnel as a nail tech? I have to use a wrist brace for carpal tunnel myself, but I don’t know if I can file a client while wearing one

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 роки тому

      You need to make sure you are using the proper tools and techniques for holding your clients hands/fingers. Using an efile properly will help as well as keeping your wrists straight as you are filing. Use a combination of over and underhand grip with the efile and avoid flicking your wrist when using a hand file.
      Here's a few videos that will help you with the proper techniques.

    Could you do a video where you do a complete rebalance and not only a backfill? How many times can you do backfills before you need a fresh new set?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 років тому +1

      A fresh set on return clients is never a necessity other than specific circumstances examples: client requests, (shape change specific look etc) ski slope nails eventually require new sets, if the client demolishes their nails between appts. etc. As long as you are maintaining the nails properly and keeping the product where needed by fills and re balancing there is no need to remove and start fresh.
      And yes we do plan to do a re balance and fill video rather than a basic 2 week fill. More vids coming soon not to worry!! :)

      You have to schedule it. You may need to schedule yourself a lunch break if you are that concerned and can not find time. It's all about choices.
