  • it's the ✨versatility✨ for me 😌
    made a corset top, i've been seeing it EVERYWHERE so gave it a go! Made it double sided though, so you can wear it two ways :)

    Pattern Resources:
    1. I had previously drafted a simple 2-dart bodice according to my own body. This is a good blog post on how you can do this: www.dresspatte... (I highly recommend making this because you can keep altering it to make other clothes)
    2. Next you can very EASILY transform this bodice to have PRINCESS SEAMS using this (it takes 30 seconds): www.craftsy.co...
    3. Then you can manipulate the neckline to how you want for this corset, and also add in the s-bend along the bottom to your desire!
    NOTE: If you find this too difficult, Nava Rose has provided a single size FREE pattern ( • DIY Trendy Corset Top ... in the description box of her video) and you could use that to start off!! However please note the shape would be slightly different to the one that I made, as mine is drafted to my own body measurements :)
    Hope that helps 🥰

    Corset tops are great because you can basically always get the fit perfect with the ribbon tightening or loosening 😂😂

    Corsets are amazing for posture and to prevent back pain! but please if you're planning to wear them for a long time, please wear your corset or stays over a tank top or even a traditional chemise if you want, just don't wear them on bare skin for a long time. Also, tight-lacing should be done with caution! Don't tight-lace your corset for a long time because it can both ruin your corset and possible hurt you.
    This corset top actually looks so cool, I might just make it~

      @@halfsoybean To hide the top under it, you can make a modesty panel. It's just a basic rectangle that fills the lacing gap. I made myself a few 18th century stays and things inspired by stays, and I make my stomacher (basically front modesty panel) double-sided, one from matching fabric and one from contrasting fabric for more flare. I usually add 3-5 vertical bones in a fan shape and 1 horizontal bone at the top to keep it from slipping and crumpling. For back lacing only, the panel should be good with one at each vertical edge.

    I always thought I hated the corset trend. Until now. You made it look sooo good, I kinda want to make one for myself now 🙊🙊 and it fits you so nicely! I think I like the white side best because it kinda goes with everything. Both are super beautiful though. Lovely execution 💚💚

    The curve at the bottom is to hold in your tummy as a corset will displace your “fat”. It has to go somewhere. Make the corset longer if it bothers you.

    • @halfsoybean
      @halfsoybean  3 роки тому +1

      Hey maybe! I'd just watch out for the interfacing not being as sturdy through the wash😊. SheIn cuts a lot of corners when making their clothes which is why it can be sold for such a low price.
