We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents. And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation. I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next. But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true. We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children, we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children. He has dedicated his life to music as a student as a performer and as a human being. Unlike most western singers he doesn't work with record labels or under any bounds to make something which doesn't has a personal meaning or emotion attached. That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen. This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children. (Requiem means: Funeral, Funeral Mass, Funeral Service) Story: The clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character and his 2 friends are linked in eternal friendship through childhood stories and a symbol (necklace). One day, the friend saves the protagonist when he is drowning. However, there is already competition in this children's story as the boys are in love with the girl and she chooses 'Dimash'. The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which also served as a sea compass before antiquity. Uniform wearers wear this symbol on their heads. So it can't work. The second experiences a kind of nervous breakdown and transfers the children's problems into the world of adult totalitarianism and struggle. By becoming President, the antagonist (Piper - in reference to the 'Pied Piper of Hamelin') carries within himself the idea of a war to save: “Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We will guide all who are ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no business with us. I choose freedom. The world is open to me and I want to give it to you. War for the people is the way to unity.” The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love. While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge. However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace. A parallel line of pilgrims are people of different religions, walking the hard path to some place of power where they could unite and discover the Heavenly Eye that would illuminate the world. By uniting, they create a common energy in which the protagonist’s son is born, as Hope and Faith for the Better. Their journey is a symbol of faith in general, because it always goes through trials. When we go to the truth, we go through certain lessons and our way to God is difficult, but only possible if we come together. This is by far the best explaination I have found. It was written by Heiderose Kober: This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, (the taller child) who later becomes the military commander, never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, (the drowning boy), gives his friend the pendant. The camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl (later Dimash's Wife and the mother of his daughter who is killed). Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral l compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. Dimash is an exceptional artist but to understand his art and really appreciate his work, you have to start by seeing him perform on stage. I suggest you SOS d'un terrien en détresse, a French song (by the way, Dimash sings in more than 14 languages) some versions of this song have subtitles but to be honest, even if you don't understand the lyrics, Dimash will make you feel them in his performance. As someone else said, you jumped into the deep end-----and nearly drowned! Whomever recommended that you make this your first Dimash experience misled you in the worst way. This is a masterpiece, but it cannot be fully understood unless you actually know what Dimash is all about. For that, I agree that you should start at the beginning ("SOS") and work your way through the most amazing catalog of music you have ever waded through. Dimash likes to combine sounds and styles from all over the world and what results is like nothing you have ever heard before. Just when you think you have him pegged, he does something completely different and just as spectacular. I've been pop music obsessed for my entire life, but after discovering Dimash I have decided that all the most important music of my life is less important now. Dimash was the main actor in this video of course and yes, that was all his singing. Dimash has so so much more music for you to hear. He is fluent in his native Kazakh as well as Russian but his English is becoming a very good third. Someone absolutely did you wrong by sending you straight into The Story of One Sky with Dimash. This isn't a movie called Requiem, a requiem is a mass sung for the dead. This is Dimash's music video for The Story of One Sky. He wrote the music and the screenplay and acted the character of the soldier. All of Dimash's MVs are mini movies in themselves with details that you have to be very careful not to miss. You also turned off way before the end so you missed the essential message that would have pulled this all together for you. Dimash has a 7 octave range and yes it's all his voice. The lows, the highs and the in between. I would suggest going back to the beginning and listening to SOS as you'll get some idea of what he is capable of.

I have shared it with a number of my peace-loving, anti-war friends and acquaintances, none of whom was previously familiar with Dimash, and I can assure you that, to my disappointment, not one of them was impressed. Most found it confusing, even "convoluted," and "disjointed," and hardly noticed the singing at all due to what was happening in the video. And not one of them showed any interest in exploring Dimash any further. So I stand by my original contention that this is not a good starting point and approve of your suggestion that the "Guide to Discovering Dimash" (or whatever it was called) is the best possible way of getting to know him. I think we are lucky that this particular reactor is interested in pursuing more, although we can mostly credit that to those of us who have enlightened him about what he is about to witness if he proceeds.

This is an amazing MV and song. You are not the first reactor to react to this song first as a first time hearing Dimash, but you are part of the few. I have already watched your 2nd reaction and left more comments there. But this song he's been working on it for 3 years and is considered one of the most expensive MV even above Michael Jackson's Scream. MJ is a big influence on Dimash and if you continue this journey you will hear it. Congrats on finding one of the best vocalists in the world.
Too bad you ended the video before it was over. He left a message on the screen at the end that is essentially a summation of the message this entire video is about. He asked the question in the lyrics, "our future, is it possible to save?" Not it is impossible to save. This is not from a movie. This is an original composition by Dimash that he has been working on for the last 3 years. He also wrote the script and he always works closely with the lyricist and the director. This is why it is always helpful to have subtitles on even if it's being sung in English by someone who's first language is not English. Every note you heard sung in this song is all Dimash. He also acted as the soldier, the main character in the story. And yes it's true this was a poor choice of a first song without knowing much more about Dimash and his ethos. A journey through his discography/catalog will give you a better idea of his amazing talent. How I understand this video considering the short speech from the live concert at the stadium in Almaty (Kazakhstan) with 34,000 spectators: 1. At the beginning 3 clean children live an experience that marks you for life, a boy saves from drowning another, and the girl witnesses this. The saved boy proposes something similar to a cross brother as a lifelong bond between the three and brings a symbol to unite them. Apio it seems that life separated them as personal developments, one of them becoming a dictator, the other boy a simple soldier devoted to the country but unable to see the evil hidden in the dictatorship, and the girl becoming a future mother with her inherent problems as a woman. War with destruction and loss of human life is a horror, which this time becomes visibly unjustified by the dictator's policy when the little girl is killed. We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents.
And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation.
I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next.
But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true.
We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children,
we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children.

What I liked about your reaction was that you focussed on and recognised an amazing voice - the voice of an extraordinary singer. This is a music video for the song The Story of One Sky, not a movie - a masterpiece of music composed over three years by Dimash. And every voice you heard was Dimash - his range is beyond impossible.
He also wrote the story and played the soldier whose young daughter was killed. His childhood friends who he gave necklaces to became his wife and the other boy who saved him became the dictator. In the video I think his wife died giving birth to their son who was born as saviour the moment he died.

That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen.
This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children.
(Requiem means: Funeral, Funeral Mass, Funeral Service)
Story: The clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character and his 2 friends are linked in eternal friendship through childhood stories and a symbol (necklace).
One day, the friend saves the protagonist when he is drowning. However, there is already competition in this children's story as the boys are in love with the girl and she chooses 'Dimash'.
The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which also served as a sea compass before antiquity. Uniform wearers wear this symbol on their heads. So it can't work.
The second experiences a kind of nervous breakdown and transfers the children's problems into the world of adult totalitarianism and struggle.
By becoming President, the antagonist (Piper - in reference to the 'Pied Piper of Hamelin') carries within himself the idea of a war to save:
“Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We will guide all who are ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no business with us. I choose freedom. The world is open to me and I want to give it to you. War for the people is the way to unity.”
The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love.
While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge.
However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace.
A parallel line of pilgrims are people of different religions, walking the hard path to some place of power where they could unite and discover the Heavenly Eye that would illuminate the world. By uniting, they create a common energy in which the protagonist’s son is born, as Hope and Faith for the Better. Their journey is a symbol of faith in general, because it always goes through trials. When we go to the truth, we go through certain lessons and our way to God is difficult, but only possible if we come together.
The words at the end of the video are from the "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together" signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb, on February 4, 2019. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.

My opinion: The whole song is an outcry. Dimash's unmistakable emotionally charged voice draws you into the video. I was totally hypnotized. My heart aches because of the wars and misery in this world. The greed, envy and intolerance of men will wipe them off the face of the earth if they do not come to their senses. Children and women are targeted victims of annihilation and rape in wars. But they are not just victims or mothers. They are half of humanity. Where are they? Why don't the women climb the mountain side by side with the men and head towards the sunrise and a better future? I only see men running mercilessly past a collapsed comrade-in-arms. Nobody helps him. What future can such a humanity await? Will anything ever change?

This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism.
It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.
Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself.
The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information).
In the MV, (the taller child) who later becomes the military commander, never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, (the drowning boy), gives his friend the pendant. The camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl (later Dimash's Wife and the mother of his daughter who is killed). Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral l compass.
Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon.
It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way.
The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war.
The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence.
That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against?
The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price?
War is not the answer. We must find better ways to keep evil in check. iowaculture.gov/.../american-troops-move-through The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and birth are both sacraments and are interwoven in the tapestry of life.
Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffets the pilgrims and hinder progress. The fog of war obscures the light.
When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering.
He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby.
The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”
Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect.
Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. Dimash is an exceptional artist but to understand his art and really appreciate his work, you have to start by seeing him perform on stage. I suggest you SOS d'un terrien en détresse, a French song (by the way, Dimash sings in more than 14 languages) some versions of this song have subtitles but to be honest, even if you don't understand the lyrics, Dimash will make you feel them in his performance.

As someone else said, you jumped into the deep end-----and nearly drowned! Whomever recommended that you make this your first Dimash experience misled you in the worst way. This is a masterpiece, but it cannot be fully understood unless you actually know what Dimash is all about. For that, I agree that you should start at the beginning ("SOS") and work your way through the most amazing catalog of music you have ever waded through. Dimash likes to combine sounds and styles from all over the world and what results is like nothing you have ever heard before. Just when you think you have him pegged, he does something completely different and just as spectacular. I've been pop music obsessed for my entire life, but after discovering Dimash I have decided that all the most important music of my life is less important now. The verse that states we must "learn to share again the love, not shares" believe means we must re-learn how to share our love in real time, person-to-person via one-on-one human connection in meaningful ways thru in-person acts of kindness such as compassionately, caring for the actual basic human needs of others or those that are emotional or physical in nature; all of which builds strong friendships, communities, nations and even friendships between nations unlike the superficial virtual "shares" that may be important only to one person's social media status & very well imaginary.
DQ asks us to "learn to live again" as "we have passed the moment of "Imagine" (which is clearly a reference to Lennon's iconic song written of the utopia he dreamed of) & the "world as the feast" I believe means we as a species have caused so much irreparable damage to the planet resulting in droughts & famine that we are long passed former times of plenty & now must work very hard together to overcome our limited, finite resources or "Do we have to starve?" You must watch this MV with an open mind & heart coming from a mindset of love & solidarity. I don't share the majority's view that Dimash survives nor is that his grownup baby born as he died at the end of the video. Someone absolutely did you wrong by sending you straight into The Story of One Sky with Dimash.
This isn't a movie called Requiem, a requiem is a mass sung for the dead. This is Dimash's music video for The Story of One Sky. He wrote the music and the screenplay and acted the character of the soldier. All of Dimash's MVs are mini movies in themselves with details that you have to be very careful not to miss. You also turned off way before the end so you missed the essential message that would have pulled this all together for you.
Dimash has a 7 octave range and yes it's all his voice. The lows, the highs and the in between. I would suggest going back to the beginning and listening to SOS as you'll get some idea of what he is capable of.

I have shared it with a number of my peace-loving, anti-war friends and acquaintances, none of whom was previously familiar with Dimash, and I can assure you that, to my disappointment, not one of them was impressed. Most found it confusing, even "convoluted," and "disjointed," and hardly noticed the singing at all due to what was happening in the video. And not one of them showed any interest in exploring Dimash any further. So I stand by my original contention that this is not a good starting point and approve of your suggestion that the "Guide to Discovering Dimash" (or whatever it was called) is the best possible way of getting to know him. I think we are lucky that this particular reactor is interested in pursuing more, although we can mostly credit that to those of us who have enlightened him about what he is about to witness if he proceeds.

This is an amazing MV and song. You are not the first reactor to react to this song first as a first time hearing Dimash, but you are part of the few. I have already watched your 2nd reaction and left more comments there. But this song he's been working on it for 3 years and is considered one of the most expensive MV even above Michael Jackson's Scream. MJ is a big influence on Dimash and if you continue this journey you will hear it. Congrats on finding one of the best vocalists in the world.
Too bad you ended the video before it was over. He left a message on the screen at the end that is essentially a summation of the message this entire video is about. He asked the question in the lyrics, "our future, is it possible to save?" Not it is impossible to save.
This is not from a movie. This is an original composition by Dimash that he has been working on for the last 3 years. He also wrote the script and he always works closely with the lyricist and the director.
This is why it is always helpful to have subtitles on even if it's being sung in English by someone who's first language is not English.

And yes it's true this was a poor choice of a first song without knowing much more about Dimash and his ethos. A journey through his discography/catalog will give you a better idea of his amazing talent. Indeed, it was quite a challenge to start on Dimash with this masterpiece! Maybe you should rewatch it after turning on the subtitles so you can tell what he was singing. How I understand this video considering the short speech from the live concert at the stadium in Almaty (Kazakhstan) with 34,000 spectators: 1. At the beginning 3 clean children live an experience that marks you for life, a boy saves from drowning another, and the girl witnesses this. The saved boy proposes something similar to a cross brother as a lifelong bond between the three and brings a symbol to unite them. Apio it seems that life separated them as personal developments, one of them becoming a dictator, the other boy a simple soldier devoted to the country but unable to see the evil hidden in the dictatorship, and the girl becoming a future mother with her inherent problems as a woman. War with destruction and loss of human life is a horror, which this time becomes visibly unjustified by the dictator's policy when the little girl is killed. It is the moment of awakening to reality of the soldier who then sees a potential solution to the problem having the vision of a line of people of various faiths (I identified at least 5) marching together shoulder to shoulder towards the light which in this vision means the choice of life, not of the death offered by war under the false pretext of the statement "war is a way to unite people". Only that this path seems to be open through the personal sacrifice in which he ends up killing the dictator, his former friend who saved his life, and then he is also shot by his guard. It is a sacrifice assumed with the hope that the newborn will give the meaning of choosing life for the series of people who walk towards the light, and this begins with the return to the initial meaning of the symbol, namely a laudatio brought to life. The fact that Hitler had the swastika as a symbol does not seem foreign to this either, a symbol that he, through actions, soiled its original meaning! My take on the story:
It’s the story of three childhood friends who are all joined by the symbol of the necklace. The Dictator’s soldier’s kill Dimash. Dimash’s wife gives birth to their son, his father’s necklace is passed down to him. It’s Dimash’s son at the end leading all people and all religions to peace (Throughout the video when Dimash is singing in a Middle Eastern style, that’s flash forward to the future, where the people of all religions are being led in peace, by Dimash’s son.)
