love the basic " juke joint" sound. This is great, I'm working on it. More please sir. I just love your energy, and lessons. Thank you.
Adam, when you coming out with a "basic juke joint harp 3" these tunes are really catchy and so much fun!
After piddling around with the harp for years and years and getting nowhere fast, you have helped me break out forward a little bit and although I'm not gonna catch up with players like you, I'm having a large time back here in the caboose! Thanks man
Man wish I could play a harp like that I'm 63 used to sing in a hair band God I love that blues harp you are very good brother. Think I'm gonna get a harp an give it a go.
I just wanted to say thanks for the lessons you impart to the harmonica faithful.. you are an excellent teacher and your playing's got the tone and heart of the blues..
Great lesson Adam, thank you!
i may be a mellanial but im not spoiled and i shall master the harmonica with time and practice and this is great practice thank you been learning off you for two years now got a harmonica for Christmas can't stop playing
Excellent! I approve.
these grooves have been spinning around in your head long before you had a harp in your hand!
Great lick. Very interchangable and adaptable to different situations. And I'm glad you take the appraoach to not holding everybodys hand and showing them exactly how to do everything. I appreciate you letting us become better players by figuring things out ourselves. Thanks Adam!
Top end ...I have a feeling my history identifies with this magic man ...just for today ?
What a strolling! Thank you. Yes, one should move his hips if he wants to be in the groove.
Keep on keeping on Adam

you’re the best Mr Gussow! Where’s Juke Joint 3 4 and 5 please! I need this! 😊
Adam, these are so great! Thanks for sharing, and we can tell you are having fun with the juke joint lessons!
Extremely Important great lesson 🎶
Glad you think so!
Still waiting on "Juke Joint #3"
I like the way you teach you make the student work for it I like that I had a teacher like that once
Very hard initially but fun to practice 👍
I truly enjoy each video you share
Gussow..
Love this lesson... Great grove.. Really got me to this bit..
Love your lessons.
Thanks!
I'm trying to transition to blues harmonica in cross harp. I've always played melodies in straight harp for folk type music in the same key as the song. Your videos are beginning to help. I hope i can learn lots from you. You're very gifted
Brilliant thanks so much for this video.
thanks so much for the great videos, I'm glad you're forcing us to discover "the feeling" for ourselves.
Adam, I have been following your channel since the first day I picked up a harp on Christmas morning. So far I have came really far and am a fast learner. If you showed me what your doing I definitely could play. Nothing is too hard.
Thanks
Big Ups Adam!!💨 and a lot clicked in my Head. Huge advances in my Skills. No one has a clue that I ever even had any interest and still don’t. Personal I guess.
Learning the Harmonica has changed my Life. I stick with a couple guys on here( You included) that have been able to teach me. . Music is special without a doubt. Thank You my Friend.🤙🏼
Best one yet
Many many thanks! Love the way this guy teaches!
On top of a great riff, I loved the mini-rant, culminating in the slap at 7:42! LOL!!!
Speaking of the riff, it is NOT to hard...anymore. I figured out the subtleties, but it will still take a bit more work before I play them as naturally as you do. Thanks for all the years of woodshed material! I'll never be able to fully express my appreciation.
Огромное спасибо...благодаря этому уроку --я сделал огромный шаг вперед к импровизации.
I’ve had more fun working on your lessons!
I’ve dabbled for many years. I got bored quickly without instruction. Never got instruction so remained a dabbler.
I find my self being able to replicate a beat or note frequently enough with your instruction to inspire me to practice more.
Thank you
GREAT TEACHER U R😄🎵
Thanks man! you help me to improve a lot. the way you dire us to play is perfect!!!
Great stuff! Didn't realise that listening to Little Feat for yrs (with the mighty Ritchie Hayward on drums) would mean syncopating the harp would be almost (but not quite) natural. Love practicing these riffs!
Great lesson Adam, thank you so much, awesome!!
I follow you for a while and i want's to thanks because you are my coach!!! Thank you master! I can do this!
Kiss from Switzerland!
Dimitri Kaeser
Now this is SWEET like sugar! I may have to try to dig out my old Lee Oskars' and try this again after many, many years of forgetting the "tin sandwich" is life sustaining...
Hi Adam, nice to see you almost on REAL TIME !
I came across your videos about 6 months ago and this was a turn on ! But I always thought that I was seeing things 10 years old, and wondered if you'd come up with new stuff for us "wanna be harmonica players". I am 64, live in France, kind of played the guitar at amateur level for a long time until I discovered that there are loads of better guitarists than me, but much fewer harmonica guys !
This little instrument is so addictive and easy to carry, having one in his pocket will eventually allow to play it on any opportunity. I've been watching most of your videos, and I am working hard to improve. I purchased some of your lessons and "Born in Chicago" still gives me some hard time to play it right. THANKS for everything !
Nice Adam!!! As Usual!!!
2draw,123draw,123blow123blow,2draw-1drow-2drow,123blow123blow,123draw.
Are correct? I tried :)
Love it
Ay Great stuff B-) I've stumbled upon another Gussow channel , I remember stumbling across Kudzurunner many years ago which kept me really interested at the time . Thanks for the inspiration going to try & get back into playing this Blues Harmonica :)
+strawwoodclaw : Glad you found me here! I remember your handle from the early days, and am honored to have you as a fan.
you got french fan here !!!!!! come played in south of France one day !!!!!
LOL Great video -- I'm just getting started but thanks for giving me something to work on.
Pure gold!!!
This video is great!
this is sick man
When counting the beat, is it mandatory to have loose change in your pocket(?) Loved this, plus all of your other tutorials. My late grandfather gave me my first harmonica when I was about 4 and tried to teach me how to play, but I could never get the hang of it and I put it down and completely forgot about it. It wasn't until he passed a couple of years ago that I even looked at it and I thought "I'm going to learn how to play harmonica for him" and your tutorials are helping immensely. Thank you.
soooo cool!
You are the best, like.
you are a genius
Thank you.. teacher
Got it the first try, oh and yup! Like you mentioned you gotta have them classy shoes shined up if you wanna perform, real sharp dude!
+Rodger Brule : Glad you enjoyed--and got--it.
Thanks again! Awesome!
Hi, if someone know the notes please write. Thank u very much.
Ouch! Though you're right. Anyway, once I get an A harp, I'm nailing this. I manage to play the lick you showed on "changing up the groove" in like 30 minutes. But maybe that one is too easy. Being a percussionist I got the beat down already. Thanks again for teaching.
Got a Hohner MS-series A harp. Quite expensive. I'm nailing this
such fun ,your just what the doctor prescribe ,
Thats groovy! kind of reminds me Billy Bizor - Tell me where you stayed last night
+Gabriel Volpe : I was not aware of that particular recording of Bizor's, but I just went and found it and you're right. You've got good ears! The harp stuff I play here would work perfectly over what Bizor's guitarist and drummer are doing. ua-cam.com/video/6La-ZafYqRw/v-deo.html
What a tune! New to me too, thanks.
7:48 "Millennial Bitch Slap" lmmfao! You go, Adam!
you are a level god harmonica player
go back2&throw &use slow 75% you will get it? good fun
amazing
haha I wish I was just a spoiled millenial, I'm a scatterbrained gen z'er, but tomorrow I'm learning and practicing just this groove. thanks for the lesson
nice lessons)))
Gotta work on my stepin' - playing outside while I'm walkn, sometimes my feet get ahead of the jive. Just gotta synchronize that syncopation; be the blues.
Adam...where on Earth do you film these great tutorials ?!
i felt like saying tequila after the sequence, hahahaha
Spoiled Millennial Awesome! Neg! haha. Great stuff here Adam!
I have the rhythm for this amazing groove but I would love to know what the notes are.
solved it yet?.
@@Marllang hi, can you write the notes please. Im a beginner. Thanks
Thanks Gussow you crazy man. Keep the videos coming! Anything on technique for playing blues harp in a rack? It's kind of hard to hold the harp while playing guitar! Racks are pretty limiting for bending not to mention staying in place. Maybe there's some secrets you can share?
I watch this video 3 x a day and and practice. 2o min a day
ill try
i was gonna say its a feel thing,,,,but you said it hahaha just like when playing guitar and skipping a strum or add another in between...youi gotta feel it. Hopefully i can learn harmonica, maybe you are right in another video you said i need to have a songs list. and many harmonicas
i like your style of teaching by the way
feckin right im strugglin but im gettin it.. im wurkin, im wurkin

Very nice sir ... Which diatonic harmonica you have used?
I'm gonna work
This sounds awesome, have you got tabs available for this? Thank you!!
as for blues, if you want to get people on their feet, it's all in the backbeat!
Guess I need an A harp
i fucki g love this guy man no joke
very tricky
basic j j 1&2,how to slow&solo slow, solo rythm stuff along with respect & heart of blues; Together these have given a solid lift to my old repertoire, most of which consists more of jlwilliamson &little walter&bigwalter. paying a bit more attention to rice miller & jwells grooves. In terms of interacting with my audience, i have hit a landmark. Busking for10+yrs. People get used to seein ya round means you gotta change it up.
Really feeling the groove from where is the core is the most important thing addin depth to my solos & all those little rythmic clicks and cough articulations and subtleties i can see on the faces when i play where conservatory & berklee school faces are passin by and they slow down fallin into the groove i am playin from
What notes you blow sir?....
I'm 66
something tells me gussow might be a little sick of all the college students he's gotta deal with at work.....
Actually, no! I was on sabbatical--no teaching responsibilities--when I made this video last fall.
Im so confused
🙃
Loved the beat and the sound. Working hard to figure it out and get the feeling. Love a lot of your other videos. But why talk bad about the younger ones wanting to learn. kinda of a turn off to listening to great players.😐
I talk that way because, among SOME (but not all American millennials), I believe there's a misunderstanding about how complicated the journey towards mastery in something like blues actually is. I get a fair number of emails from younger people who, having discovered my videos, want me now to do all the work. They want me to tab out songs that they should be working hard to tab out. Sometimes they upload videos where, after several months' practice, they're playing pretty badly--and then they send me the videos and want a pat on the head. One guy sent me a video that consisted of him slamming back shots for seven or eight minutes, then playing very bad harmonica. He asked me what I thought! So I told him. I wasn't impressed. As a result of all this troubling evidence, I've come to believe that SOME of my viewers have gotten the wrong idea. They think of me as a smiling, welcoming guy who will give them a hug and a big wet kiss if they expend even a small effort to learn how to play the harmonica. Wrong. I'm not impressed by that. I'm impressed by somebody who puts in the hard work, then emails me 18 months later and says, "I played on the street for the first time yesterday and made $12. It's the scariest and most satisfying thing I've ever done. Thank you!" That impresses me. Here, I'm simply engaging in a little constructive hazing. I'm trying to scare away at least a few of those who aren't willing to put in the work and/or who don't have a strong enough sense of purpose to meet the challenges. It sounds as though you've mostly got the right attitude, but you'll have an even better attitude if you smile to yourself and think "F--k you, Gussow, I've got what it takes and you can't scare me away."
Well when you put it that way, I gotta agree. My grandpa always told me "Anything worth having never comes easy", and people forget that. Sometimes a nice hard landing is what u need. Thanks for the answer and feedback. Your videos really do help. :)
Your grandfather was right!
I agree with you for the most part, yet i don't think it has to do with this generation, but all of them, like in that junior wells story you told about hazing, and also, i don't think it's really necessary to scare them away, if they really aren't motivated, they will eventually give up or never really become good, or maybe they will just learn a couple songs or licks by heart, which is not bad in itself, i mean, it's a free country we live in, you can do whatever you like, but if you choose to just learn stuff by heart, you can't call yourself a musician, you're more like a guy that plays the harmonica as a party trick, again, you can choose to live like that, but you're not a musician, you will get no hate from me.
Spoiled MILLENNIAL HERE . . . ! (#)
The thing about harmonica is after 30 years smoking weed you can't breathe ;)
😉
Belter
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😅😡😡😡😡😡 explain Gussow explain
Is this the new Gussow? The IN-YOUR-FACE do the work or quit you cry babies Gussow. Not the patient professor of Gussow001 - 200. Nice wake up call AG, thanks.
