Sheep is not broken. Grounding and interrupt from shaman is. They have such a short CD that if time right and nade right you almost never get a sheep off
It is. It breaks on dmg and heal the opponent such bs. Unlike every other class.

The Rageaholic he means that even if you are 1 hella this you can poly and reset to nearly max , your mana is the resource that matters more in these fights. If he was a warrior his heath matters more because he can’t reset and heal to full like a mage could

This mechanic was recently added to the game actually, it wasn't always like this
Educational video, very good commentary. Not sure if it is a NA/EU thing or if times just changed but... 1. Engineering 2. Pots not normally allowed in casual or tournament settings.
engineering and all types of trinkets/gear etc are allowed. No mounting, no potions or buffs except from your own class

LOL Ofc mounting is allowed if you are allowed to first aid and food and engineering and so on. Either you forbid all non class spells or you allow all...
A thing you should try to do is to just nova him in the beginning -> blink away -> force sheep, instead of trying to fakecast your way through to your sheep. its much more simple and you dont have to rebuff so much after + bandage yourself.

Boring when eating and drinking are used in duels. It's a DUEL until death, not an eating contest.

So basically Mage duell now is reset/drink until you have a lucky streak and win? Reset/Drinking should not be allowed in REAL tournaments
I'm guessing 3 minute mage will not be allowed. Or maybe some people would be able to survive it and counter?
@XARYU, guys ... when you rebuff, do you use only downranked buffs for all of your buffs (like rank1) just to conserve mana or you do a full rank rebuff as well on certain spells (like mage armour) and use the rest (dampen, etc) as rank1 ?!

Once he get better gear, that's gonna take hell less time. Some resets where too carefull here, but just my opinion. Basically once he's sheep and you're full health just frost bolt-nova silence frost bolt coc - stun items (tidal charm pref) and frost bolt again. You can also play elemental mage and the blastwave will help with the burst needed just need to handle well the kite which is not Xaryu's problem at all x)

wouldnt it be good to be free casting scortch so if he interrupts you you can instantly cast big frost bolt right..i remember playing agains shaman and i was counting in my head the time for his next windshear so i started casting scorch expectinghim to interrupt wrong school of magic.

Good job! But why this shaman isn't casting anything? So much utility and he is just trying to go melee range. Except if this shaman is Enh. A proper Elemental shaman can erase almost anything.

How were you targeting the totems? Did you tab? Didn't see you individually click. And I can't remember, but how do you self-cast stuff like Arcane Intellect? What is "Sheer" ?
binding totem absorbs any spell being cast at the hero
so if he casts at hero, binding totoem take sit
he uses mouse over macro for rank 1 fire blast. "shear" is short for wind shear, the shaman interrupt. I'm actually not sure if wind shear was in the game in vanilla, but the term is used on retail where wind shear is definitely their interrupt.
@method Xaryu, how do u feel about Fire spec now in Classic? i did try the aoe farming for lvling, not my thing... so did chance and playing fire atm, much more fun, but i wonder how it will be in pvp later on at 60 etc? :)

when is the duel tourny occurring? Who's hosting it this time around? I remember the last couple during beta and they were awesome. Especially the one where Esfand green-screen interviewing the players, so good haha (that was the one where Rich & Asmon casted). Chuck (Cdew) took the gold by going ele and countering the mages, but it was also L30 or L40 meta.

Love everything about this except the part where you aggressively shake your mouse and camera just before the end of duels like that would help you do more damage xD
The shaking is dumb. Totally useless and possibly detrimental to your duel. Any edge you get mentally from that stupid shaking is wiped when your opponent takes advantage of you busy shaking.
Probably because he's using mmo mouse, I do same thing when kiting and mashing a button

Yo the Xar! Why didn't he ever flameshock you? Not only does it break eating, it also adds consistant decent damage. And isn't mana-intensive.

@bean machine Because a rank 1 flame shock lasts 20 seconds and costs 30 mana. Forward costs 260. It would oom the mage. And if he didnt use it. He'd be stopped from drinking. win win

Dampen Magic os worth? Why should i use? And amplify Magic?
Against casters, dampen magic is totally worth.. amplify magic, not so much as mage. But good in pve if tank is against physical mobs, amplify magic on tank and tank will get healed for more.

@@maxcormier7821 will put Fire Blast on CD.. and as @Havak37 also mentioned.. Frostbolt has a much longer range (especially with Arctic reach)

By the way, Mages! You can remove a grounding totem with r1 fire blast while getting distance even when the actual totem is out of range of fire blast, you can just target the shaman with it instead and the totem will eat it as long as it's in range of the shaman or any person in his group :) This doesn't make mouseover r1 fire blast any less awesome, though!
An example, at 4:25, instead of moving into fire blast range of the totem to fire blast it and thus getting closer to the shaman than necessary, simply casting it on the shaman while moving away would remove the totem and help create distance between you and him ^^
7:42 as well, casting rank 1 frostbolt set you back some distance. It almost looked like you could literally have just kited him out of his own totem's range there, it was so far away haha. So casting fire blast there while running at max range from him probably wouldn't have forced you to use a grenade which unfortunately resisted
