    This makes me think of gem digging in India they use stuff like these pans there

      Absolutely Rick! This method can be employed to concentrate and recover any gemstone that is heavier than the gangue rock. Diamonds, sapphires, zircon, garnets, gold etc.

    I found a 83 pt Garnet on my 6th day there Sept 2021, largest 1 found in 2021. Dec 16th 2021 I found a 28 pt Diamond (Canary Hill). Jack might remember me, Solomon knows me. Diamond Fox (Brian Anderson) knows me..

    Does that thing work on gold?

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  Рік тому

      It would definitely work to recover gold if the gold particle size is larger than the screen mesh size.

    I don't get that place, you would think all the years being open to public there would actually be a pit, instead it's like flat, so is everyone re working tailings and not getting into virgin ground? should be like a fifty foot deep pit?

      I would venture to guess that somewhere around 12,000 cubic yards of material are removed from the Crater every year by park visitors. The surface is plowed and graded somewhat regularly. Over the years, the overall surface level gets lower and lower. The fine tailings generally get swept out of the digging area boundaries by rains.

    Better of going to a sapphire mine

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  Рік тому

      Sapphires are definitely more abundant in the US, they are both fun to find.

    I've been there twice. Probably had diamonds in my hands and didn't know they were diamonds because all the different stuff or it all looks the same.

      There are lots of shiny minerals out there William and the diamonds are getting harder and harder to find.
