The climb from the MB parking lot to the start of Stonewall is noooo joke. Last time I rode up was after riding down Grizzly (saw you out at FHD that day too haha)

Bro you got some sick ass trails around there. Is winter ok to ride around there ?

We're pretty lucky....these are about 15 minutes from my doorstep. Winter is all good so long as it isn't muddy. We have some great OHV trails that can be ridden in wet.

Hey man, I know that you prefer the mega 290 than this one but how do you compare those 2, downhill wise? I am getting older and just want something really comfy, ultra plush... I have a banshee titan mullet with a coil shock and it is a lot better than with the x2 but still not my dream bike. I dont trust what the reviews tell us anymore! Lol The spartan seems like my dream bike (except for the weight, no mullet but mainly that slack seattube) for the downs. I wanted a new color but theres none and they are a bit pricey but they are made for my kind of trails (in quebec, canada, where Devinci is at..). Right now, the mega 297 carbon frame with a coil shock is at a good price (including like 30% of custom, taxes, etc) and I love the look. If I read some reviews, they say it is super plush, a lot of traction bla bla but other people says that it is more like a long travel, poppy, kind of all mountain bike.... so not sure if I should try to sell my bike and make the move.
I would really like to know what you think of it plushiness vs the spartan! Not the same but not that far or really not the same?

I occasionally find my experience differs from other reviews, but we are all different. I wouldn't say the Mega 290 is a poppy bike. It isn't a brute either, I felt it was well balanced. The Spartan is a plush, comfortable ride on the downs. Despite its relatively less super slack geo, it's not a bike that wants to be thrown around. On the climbs, I'd pick the Mega every day of the week. The Spartan, to me, feels much more work on the climbs. If I was mostly looking to shred the downs, a lot of park riding, or lots of shuttling, then I'd go Spartan. It's really a weapon for the decent. If I was earning my downs, then the Mega would be my choice. I'd imagine the Mega with a coil would up the dh game.

@@StraightLine_MTB oh wow, thanks a lot! Its been a long time that ive watch your videos about the mega, I'm gonna go watch them again as I dont remember the details but... how was it on medium to bigger impacts (big rocks for example)? And on drops, was the landing a bit, not harsh but lets say "sporty" or really plush, comfy, using more travel?
Thanks again, and I wont be bothering more after, I'll go rewatch your older videos! ;)

@SsmAnyfeSt the harder you push it, it feels better. Drips feel good, not harsh. I have a nasty, chunky black diamond trail and have my fastest time on the Mega. My build had the X2 performance and Fox 36. Loved that bike
