Pretty popular back in the day although, I always thought they were on the squirrely side. Big improvement taking out those butterflys and adding filters. Hot rod black is cool also.
I did a Mr Gasket scoop in Hammerite paint for a mate years ago. Looked pretty good. But I really like the way yours turned out esp the pair of air filters. Roll on the fitment video.
Thanks M6983👍🏼, Hammer paint would look cool also. Lately I’ve been liking these rough texture coatings, & key is to 2K clear over em👌🏼 working on the twin carb base plate then fit it up to the Capri for a vid😎🏁
Same here on rougher textures. Been doing a lot of our marine engine rocker covers that way recently. Look great and on the older engines they look more period correct, plus at $1000 to chrome just one, painting is waaaay cheaper.
Hey Janks, got a Mr Gasket on my 393 clevo. Removed the butterflies and meshed the inlet. Here's a vid with the scoop setup on mine. ua-cam.com/video/Jh1RDFDudJM/v-deo.html. Thought about a similar filter mod at the front of the inlet but, if you use a taller high flow K&N internal filter with a slight modification to the top of the scoop, you get great flow and you don't miss out on the rammed air these scoops are meant to encourage. I've drilled the top of mine directly over the carb stud so a taller filter can be installed on the inside. Drilling the top with a 10mm hole saw directly over the carb stud, means you can fit a filter tall enough to go right to the ceiling of the scoop on the inside, but still allows you to get the stud nut onto the stud and tightened down, from the outside (at the top) of the scoop. I do love the paint work of your scoop in the video. Looks bloody awesome.
@@Doctoradhd1 that’s cool Docadhd1 👌🏼 tall filters to the inside top is best. My front filter assembly was just more for a different, cool & oddball look but i get what u mean 👍🏼🏁
