The good thing about Volvo, beside the safety and super confort seats, is their engine, reliable and easy to work with.
I have seen Volvos beat Subaru, Honda, even Ferrari, with volvo engines...
But, good for you!
I feel your pain, As a purist there's not much a 16V swapped B230FT block can't take. But this is not an easy build and it comes with many oil related problems and some machine shop work. The LS is often a no brainer, and it's a heck of a drivetrain. A Tremec tranmission will be able to handle close to the double of the torque a Volvo M90 can take. When reason prevails over passion, you have a LS around the corner for a few pennies.

The car is almost perfect... he should have put a 740 front on it instead of a 940 front.. but it’s still a super cool build
