Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- This course explores various ways of understanding the human self and its relation to the world. Through a consideration of what can be known, what is worth valuing, what reality is, and how human communities should be composed and regulated, the course deals with central themes that arise from the human quest for a deeper self-understanding.

This particular lecture was so clear. So great!
Excellent!
Man is an embodied breath of Life, triune unity of body word spirit.
I like these videos very much.
me too:) happy learning
I would love if you give a lecture on a critical study of ancient Greek philosophy. Thanks.
Good introduction to the philosophy
Can someone provide me with a list of the reading material used for this course so I can follow along?
Can I get a list of litterature so that I can follow the lectures? I love these lectures:)

well done thank you:)
from where we could get the materials ??
6:05 “Newton produced only the calculus”. Worrying misunderstanding of Sir Isaac’s contribution to humanity. “Much of the groundwork had been done by Copernicus, Galileo and Descartes”. This is just not so.
Care to elaborate ?
Oh only optics and the grandfather of classical mechanics and our understanding of classical gravity.

The professor speaks as if in today's world mechanism has squarely won, with his "thoughts are just electrical impusles nonsense", as in everything does has a distinctly measurable cause and so forth. But I'd say this is still firmly contested. While our thoughts and consciousness can be originated to an organ of the body, similar to how we eat or breathe can be attributed to an organ, the mechanism by which this organ creates our thoughts or consciousness are still completely unknown.
We know the exact process enacted in the body to convert air and food into fuel for the body, we have only conjecture or processes so vague they are useless to describe how a thought comes to be, how it is stored, and how it is acted upon by the mind.
You can say it the brain is identical to any other organ and its nature is simply too complicated to understand with the current technology, but how could this faith you have in that the brain is simply a incomprehensible machine who's secrets we'll unlock any day now be be any different from a theist saying the world is how it is for the actions of an incomprehensible god who will reveal all at some point.
