SPOILER ALERT My theory is that the reason why there isn't a vanguard class Titan in multiplayer because in the mission where the SRS are sent out to catch the Ark before it boards the Derconis Shara sends out at least 6 vanguard class titans and before you start your pilot training at the beginning of the game you can see 3 vanguard class titans and in the mission the fold weapon Sarah says we have ONE LAST vanguard in the racks all the 9 vanguard class titans we saw in the previous missions are probably destroyed but ONE last vanguard in the racks that means after it was ready for titanfall that was the only vanguard class titans left and sense Titanfall 2s campaign is in the past and multiplayer is in the future that's why there's no vanguard class titans in multiplayer
but still, they could make more after the end of the story.
Gonzakoable Do you know many resources if would take to build a Titan that has the full kits of EIGHT different Titans at once? It would take a long time to make ONE and even then, why would they give it to you and not Jack Cooper - the best pilot the militia has?
Alright, sorry if this sounds rude but I think I have to remind some people (not just you) that in the credits scene a bunch of MARVN units is re-building a new vanguard titan wich takes place after the campaign's ending. Cooper says "Commander Briggs says I'll be inducted into the Marauder Corps and assigned a new Titan..." and "I don't know what that'll feel like... to be assigned a new Titan... I kind of like the old one."
This tells us that there are more vanguard titans, just that when you get promoted to the SRS you'll be assigned a vanguard of your own. And now when the Militia has control over more than 1/4 of the frontier it's very likely that they would have the resources to build a new vanguard titan.
But I like your motivation! :)
The Flying Tea Cup Yes, but Vanguard class titans are so costly that giving a Vanguard to some random pilot to use in a meaningless skirmish with some other random pilots would be a waste of resources. You see how many titans we go through in the multiplayer?

Us in the multiplayer are mercenaries, deemed expendable by our employers and thus given expendable equipment. Our titans are made cheaper by not using shield generators, using low grade materials and only able to equip one weapon/loadout. This is why you can't pick up other titans weapons like you could in the original game. And this is why boss titans have shields and high health, they are premium grade variants of our standard variants. The main difference between the Vanguard and other titans is probably that vanguards are actual AI. This is why Jack needs to link to BT and us in the multiplayer can burn through 2-4 titans in a single battle, our titans doesn't require that due to their simpler programming.

Evan Helms thanks. Obviously everything has to do with gameplay but if one were so inclined as to try to make sense of the changes in the perspective of the story then this is the only hypothesis that makes sense to me.

think about it, if a vanguard was in multiplayer it wouldn't work for a few reasons.
1. Batteries are on the side, impossible to Rodeo
2. Speed of a Ronin, But strength of a Legion or Scorch.
but dont forget you could step on the batteries and regen

The Vanguard was specifically designed for use by the SRS, and are very rare as stated by Kane in his intro. They're expensive and are only going to be given to Marauder Corps pilots, probably only the best of them too. Basically, we are mercenaries in TF2 and aren't given the good toys.
Yeah. Also, in the chapter "Blood and Rust" there is a brief period where you can hear Kane and an IMC grunt speaking on a radio. This grunt states that there is a Vanguard Class Titan [BT-7274] moving through the facility, and that he thinks it's SRS. Kane responds with "You think it's SRS? All Vanguards are SRS, you idiot!". He states that ALL Vanguards are SRS specifically, rather than Vanguards being Milita.

+R4_F The problem is that they likely never had any way of finding out who Jack actually was (He isn't going to transmit that around) . I don't believe he made any contact with anybody other than BT. Although he is wanted for espionage (I think) rather than completely demolishing the IMC's plans.

anyways in one of the first missions before the first bossfight an imc soldier says there is a vanguard class titan probably srs on the way to kane. kane then responds with :all vanguard titans are from the srs idiot!
witch means only srs pilots "own" a vanguard class.
so multiplayer pilots dont have vanguards because they arent part of the srs

One thing you forgot is that you hear commander Briggs says that she "Hired the right pilot". So we are hired pilots in the multi player, where as Jack Cooper is a riflemen that signed up in the militia forces that became a pilot on the field. So only militia pilots get Vanguard titans. This is also why you cant get brute and expedition in the multi player, because they are IMC titans only. Or they where just too weak. Hope you enjoyed my input! :)
The Greifer 267 Blisk was never a part of the Militia.

+DonkeyHub YT actually if you read my theory in full we are NOT Militia pilots, we are hired pilots that means we could only get the titans from Hammond Robotics. This means Brute is an IMC titan only.

titans aren't programed for picking up a load out
the other six titans made by Hammond robotics were specially made to weld their load out. even though it is completely possible for them to pick something else up. this is why you can see a Northstar weld a quad rocket in the campaign now a vanguard titan wasn't created to really excel with a certain weapon the militia had to steal most of their titan equipment so it only makes sense to create a titan that would be able to use whatever you managed to get your hands on.
a tone can pick up and use a rail gun but it would never do so because it wasn't created to handle that weapon and it wouldn't be able to function at full capacity any titan can weld any weapon they don't have to be programed it's just a matter of what you titan is more effective with that makes the difference.
there actually 10 titan because there 3 from titanfall 1 and add BT so here 6 + 3 + 1=10

xFusionz 619 if they don't I'd understand remember the first three are actually the first three titans ever designed so It would be hard to implement them into the current system seeing as they didn't have a load out specific to them like the others do and that's probably why the vanguard class isn't playable at the moment

The Vanguard titans ARE only for the elite SRS (currently, I'd assume due to limited availability since they're brand new) and they tell you as much during the campaign.
I forget when exactly, but in one of the early missions before the Apex Predators know who you are but I think after you've intercepted their radio, you often overhear them talking about how you're making a lot of trouble for them. At one point one of them says something to the effect of "A Vanguard titan? I wonder if he's SRS?" to which another replies something along the lines of "Of course, all Vanguards are SRS!".
Kedolan they arnt just for the elite. thats not.it at they reserve them for the elite. yes. but the militia only does it because Titans are very expensive for them to produce unlike the imc who can pump out titans very easily. the militia has to steal alot of their titan tech so you would want people burning through them like butter and thats kinda why alot of Militia pilots just choose to not have one because the burden. Lastimosa told cooper to look after BT when obviously BT would be teaching cooper. when you think about it that way. its probably one of the reason he said that

It's stated in the campaign that only the SRS have vanguards, and it's heavily implied the the SRS are the best of the Militia's pilots
It's stated by Kane that all vanguards are SRS, in response to an IMC grunt calling in, saying "I think it's SRS", to which Kane replies with "All vanguard titans are SRS" (I may be off with wording but idr exactly)
Seeing as, in the multiplayer, you are more likely to be a mercenary or a lower ranking pilot, you're almost definitely not SRS.
Also only the militia have access to the vanguard so it wouldn't make sense for, say, an Apex predator pilot to have the option of a vanguard
So I believe in the multiplayer of titanfall 2 all of the pilots, your team and the enemy team are all mercenaries and the faction system that you pick is technically the group that hired you to take part in the mission. And if you're just a mercenary in the multiplayer and not technically linked to a specific faction ie. the miltia then why would you have a vanguard Titan since you're just a hired pilot and not one of their own pilots.

In the faction select screen, the ares legion call you a mercernary, that's why we are able to switch between the factions
Assuming that the Militia are low on funds, and assuming they can get/reuse titan tech, they might sell them? Or like a different model of them? Or Hammond where like "Welp, time to throw out a new Titan." And started mass producting moded Vanguard class Titans.

I got a connection in the first game and this game. SPOILER ALERT so the guy you play as in the simulation in the campaign in TF1 is jack cooper. the reason I know this because the arm color is the same as when the first time you play in TF2. And jack cooper went to typhon while the simulation is on. then he introduces cooper to BT-72-74 when you call down your titan and if you notice on the mission The Fold Weapon you call down a titan and its FS the one you called down in the pilots gauntlet so you got a vanguard class titan too like the whole crew. So I think they thought cooper would be a good pilot and the pilots in multiplayer. the militia don't think you will do good so no vanguard titan. Besides you die every second unlike the SRS.

In the intro mission, before reactivating BT, you can eavesdrop on some IMC grunts talking to each other as they stand over and ogle BT. One of them says to the other something to the effect of "Oh, hey, look! This is a Vanguard-class Titan! These things are RARE! We should sell it!"
In other words, Vanguards, given their unique capabilities and the comparatively limited resources of the Militia (when compared to the IMC), are very difficult to produce and are therefore extremely rare, even within the Militia. So, it stands to reason you won't see too many of these in your average skirmishes. This dovetails with your theory that only the best of the Militias best will be assigned one of these rare Titans.
Theory: The Vanguard class needs 3 titan batteries in a specially designed slot under the left arm to operate at full capacity where as a regular titan of the Ogre, Stryder, and Atlas chassis with the variations in Titanfall 2 being Ion, Tone, scorch and so on, having only ONE battery on top of titan for easy access for repair and removal. So one Vanguard costs as much as 3 regular Titans for battery costs. Plus IMC has basically had a monopoly in the giant robot building business for 10, 20, 30 plus year so they had a lot longer to expand and spread their titans to ALOT of planets and types of industries such agriculture, construction, manufacturing and of course, Military. So even if the Militia took over the ONE hammond robotics facility at the of Titanfall 1, they still need more time to make more Vanguard class titans that there is decades or evens generations of people using the same 3 chasis that the frontier worlds used. Also, the AI in the Vanguard class titans as BT 7274 is much more advanced than the regular titans because he a vocal personality with the ability to adjust for social cues like the thumbs up being adapted into his memory, commenting that Captain Tai Lastimosa was a good friend after he had died, and calling Jack Cooper by his first or last name when in times of distress and relief. Unlike other titans which can interact with people but never have a vocal opinions of situations and feelings of any particular individuals. The Vanguards also have to be maintained and repaired in other locations around the frontier worlds which is hard because like a new and completely different model car, you have to have people who know or at least have some working knowledge of the Titan hardware and software with the right tools and specialty parts that are ONLY made for it to complete the repairs and maintenance at the right location which isn't easy because it is a giant Mech sure, but its also a very different chassis with Specifications on operations and service of hardware that came out like 3 to 4 years ago versus the decades and/or generations that the titans were already found throughout human colonies. Anyway, that is my theory from an engineer's and pragmatic standpoint.

That would make alot of sence, since you killed basicly, 4 of his mercs (Ash can regenrate but with most of her memory lost I believe so I'm not counting her.) and also, that'll be nice, but maybe. Jack has to like, join them to kill Blisk, sssooo.
Something to remember, the ark area where you time travel, the ark is still intact when your in multiplayer, but in single player its almost destroyed, it could be that the story is intertwining with multiplayer, cause ash is still alive when you are in a faction with her in multiplayer

expedition and brute, are both unique loadouts to the vanguard unit. with multiplayer focusing so far, only on hammond made titan models.
i can see them adding the vanguard unit as a dlc later that resembles that of black jack from black ops 3. where it starts off with its expedition kit, but as you kill other titans, adopt there abilities to a certain degree. (like megaman) this feels like it would be the only way it would work similar to the campaign without being overpowered in terms of balance.
since the core ability from campaign is similar to legions smart core but with increased damage over the default rate, this seems rather boring and also hard to recognize when its happening unless your the receiver of the damage. In terms of titan core abilities, all titans have a base core ability that can be altered with core load out options before deployment. .i would suggest that the vanguard titan could adopt a one time use of a enemies core but with only its base functions. i could go on.
as for the brute loadout, that leaves open a option for an additional titan we either have not seen yet, or a return of a previous model such as the atlas or stryder variants. in which case they will be forced to use the quad rocket and etc. then again similar to call of duty games, the campaign may just simply hold features the multiplayer meta will never see, as the very fact you have to be a SRS pilot to be issued a vanguard unit would not only detract from all models being hammond made in multiplayer, but also reduce the special nature of the vanguard unit being limited to select people.
Expedition were actually vanguard titans, and Monarch seems to be failed reverse ingeneired Expedition.
Make note that current MP titans are all based on IMC designs - Ogre, Atlas and Stryder. Monarch is a Vanguard class, which is full Militia design, a fourth base chesis.
Brute on the other hand resemble both Northstar and Ronins in the campaigne, and I am assuming they will be a third Stryder chasis tytan added on a later notice with a rocket launcher.

In the case of titan weaponry, any titan can use any weapon, we just only see them with a weapon that all of that titan uses. For example: Another titan COULD use Ronin’s sword, maybe or maybe not to the same efficacy but still.
in multiplayer you are some of the best of the best when having your faction set briggs or gates

My theory is that both Titanfall games take place in the same time. Titanfall1 since there's only multiplayer that it is a training simulator to train low scale pilots to become better and join the ranks of the IMC as higher class pilots in Titanfall 2. And Every grunt and specter are all computer AI that is calculating your kills per training match. and who ever gets the best k/d gets promoted into the ranks in Titanfall 2
They don't have many vanguards in stock, Briggs even says this towards the end that she only has one more vanguard chassis after the first BT died.

In my opinion, the Vanguard-class was made for spec-ops with the best pilots. It was designed to be as resourceful as possible, capable of using enemy equipment, such as their armaments or batteries (the Monarch also uses this, only for minor adjustments). It also has better AI than others, to help pilot and adapt quickly. But it is expensive and complicated (needing 3 batteries instead of 1, for example), so it isn't widely deployed.
another thing to support this:
just before the kane boss fight, a grunt says to kane "we have a vanguard class titan. I think he is srs" and then kane says "all vanguard class titans are srs". Your pilot in the game probably isn't srs, obviously, meaning you don't have a vanguard class titan.
It would make sense for Vanguards to be less common than other titans due to being newer/more advanced/more expensive
Correction: The Vanguard class can take the Expedition loadout, not the Exposition as in the video
Theory: The Expedition loadout was probably developed for the Vanguard class by the SRS, because it is the first kit we get when Jack Cooper enters BT-7274, and it is seen no where else. It also shares features of other loadouts, which would make sense if it was developed by people who had been stealing designs from the IMC.
Interesting note: Because we know that Monarch was developed from BT-7274’s two chassis left on Typhon, it makes sense that Monarch’s XO-16 is similar to the Expedition’s main weapon.
The expedition loadout is from Titanfall 1. You can take any Titan and give them an XO-16, Vortex Shield, and Rocket Salvo
This is what I need more of
The reason that the Vanguard Titans are not seen in multiplayer is because they were in very limited supply (they only had one remaining chassis to replace BT.) and only the best of the Militia pilots would be given access to them. In multiplayer you are a merc/freelance pilot and as such you fight with which ever faction you ally yourself with and can switch between them at will. Remember all the Apex Predators except Blisk were killed so he is clearly looking for new members. As such it makes sense to be a sort of Apex Predator Prospect in multiplayer. The IMC uses contracted pilots as can be seen with them using the Apex Predators so them contracting you in makes sense if you fight for them. Same goes for Hammond Robotics with the core copy of Ash as your commander. The Militia isnt too picky with who it sends down into battle, which is probably why you would start your career fighting for them. Lore wise it makes perfect sense for Merc/Freelance pilots to not have access to low supply cutting edge Militia Titans when only a handfull of them exist. Note also how much importance is placed on BT when enemy pilots see it or are told of it. The very first mission even has some grunts talk about how rare Vanguards are and that they can be sold for a fortune.
Multiplayer takes place after the single story. Its all because of Ash a former member of apex who was "reborn" after being killed by jack and bt in the factory mission. Now she runs vinson dynamics (with no connection to apex) to hopefully find out what happened to her, you can read it in her bio.

What about the fact that titans in the first game could wield all the different weapons in the game? Each of those were optimized to use pretty much any weapon they were fitted with. The Stryder, Atlas, and Ogre.
I believe exposition was made by the militia for the vanguard since you can't find exposition titans in the campaign
The second chassis that BT had was the last vanguard the militia had CD-R. Briggs said " this is our last vanguard in our racks"

In the multiplayer, we play as pilot mercenaries, we don't work for the IMC or Militia. The Vanguard titan is only for the SRS division of the Militia. That's why there is no Vanguards in Multiplayer.
my theory is that vanguard titans are just too expensive to mass produce. this also explains why just before you get your new BT chassis , Sarah says "we got one last vanguard up here."
the two pilots and titans that resemble the ogre chassis are the cloak, A- wall, Scorch, and Legion.
the Phase shift and Stim go with Ronin and Northstar, or the Stryder chassis. The Grapple and the Sonar Puls go with Ion and Tone, or the Atlas chassis. However there are 7 pilots and 6 titans. Vanguard goes with Hollow Pilot Nova. It makes sense to put the Vanguard class titan in multiplayer
with the expadition load out.
Tea cup! Your theory is correct. In the mission "Into the Abyss" after finally reuniting with BT you have to fight grunt titans. One of these says that we are lucky to be in a vanguard class titan or else we would already be dead. Or something of the sort. I'm not sure if the audio always appears though. To Be clear this is right defore you fight Ash.
I have a theory that the coding for VG titans it essentially the same as a simulcrum or attempting to copy that, it seems like BT has a personality and is capable of free will at least limited to his protocalls.

I don't think the biggest factor is a database in the titan. I think since a titan is artificial intelligence it might scan the weapon and class of the titan and calculate the best way to use them. And also I think you should do a video on the neural link and how the pilot learns through the titans database and how the titan learns through the pilots mind. Because I mean the only reason why Jack Cooper learns to use all the different titan classes is through the neural link with BT and BT knowing how to use all the different classes and transferring that knowledge to Jack via Neural link
ok heres the theory, when bt 7274 died he didnt get the smite kit... but everytime i died in my titan and respawned him in he would say welcome back or nice to see you again, which means he remembers the last time you died with him
lore-wise every time you die, you're technically a different person/pilot with the same skills as the last. so, in theory, you could never die and re-spawn in your titan, and if you die in the campaign, at least in that timeline, your story ends there.
but they dont want to have titanfall 2 in a virtual reality that would ruin the game campaign

Just before BT throws you out of him, you can see "Uploading" in your HUD, its BT uploading himself to your helmet, since BT is just an A.I and can always be re-outfitted
also, BT said to trust him before throwing you, it worked out 100% every other time you trusted him, so he had a plan.

My guess is just that creating what is essentially the Omni-tool version of a Titan equipped with a highly advanced AI would be flat out expensive to create, hence the lack of vanguard Titans in multiplayer. Using an advanced AI capable of performing better at doing each individual job of 8 AI possibly might cause some sort of sensory overload to normal Titan chassis. Maybe they need to build specialized chassis able to handle running a special AI like BT, and also be able to effectively handle each Titans weapon, and more importantly, simulate their core. Notice how BT can fire off salvo core, laser core, flame core, flight core. Sword core, and smart core with the same chassis, as well as using each Titans other abilities like northstar's flight or use the lock on rockets from brute and expedition. That's a ton of firepower for one chassis.
There's also the possibility that with the consideration of grunt pilots, not only would it be a waste to put a vanguard class Titan in the hands of an inexperienced pilot, it could possibly be dangerous if they allowed themselves to be captured. It's clear throughout the story that vanguard Titans are seen as valuable by the enemy, and if they got hold of one through an inexperienced pilot letting themselves get captured, the SRS would lose a significant advantage against the IMC
If you think about it, the Vanguard class and its chassis is probably the most breakthrough titan technology in their universe since it can mimic other titan cores "perfectly". I mean Northstar's chassis design is light so it could accommodate its flight thrusters. Vanguard class can do the same but still retain its heavy metal plating. And don't even get me started on how the fuck it can mimic laser core and flame core. It is hard to imagine a rebel group that has to rely on stealing technology, design a one size fits all titan.

some militia pilots in the campaign had Tone titan chassis,
note the Kane boss fight where you can see a fallen titan. Also most titan bodies are Ions which would mean those are common titan choices, the better you are the more expensive titans you could have. eventually most or all titans are as common or rare now in the multiplayer.
my theory was that the Vanguard class Titan is an incredibly expensive chassis to make. Therefore it is reserved for the pilots who can prove themselves worthy enough of these highly adaptable, very expensive chassis of Titan. Also in the multi-player, several factions refer to you as a mercenary, gun for hire. Which explains why you can switch factions at a heartbeat. You have no ties to them, IMC or Rebels alike, so why would you be supplied with a rebel exclusive super adaptable Titan chassis when you can change to literally the IMC commanders units? That's what I have gathered so far anyway.

If I remember correctly, there was only two vanguard chassis because Sarah specifically says "you're lucky, this is the last vanguard chassis we have" amd maybe the militia just didn't produce anymore or atleast not enough to supply them for every unit on the battlefield

I think the vanguard ai can learn maybe that why he can understand the human emotions better the the other titans and also from you can tell BT was sad after Lastimosa death and how he treat you like normal solider in first half of the campaign and in second half like friend and also to make the link between the titan and the pilot feel more natural and stronger

The Vanguard Titans are basically Gundams. Super tough, super agile, can adapt to any situation by using other titan loadouts due to their advanced AI, extremely expensive.

The theory was good and the visual layout was great. The one thing i had dificulities with is that i had a hard time hearing what you are saying. I actually put on the subtitles to have an easier time (though it may have had simmilar problems) xD.
If you would make sure that every word you say would be loud and clear, then i think you could gain all the subs. And i hope you do, cause everything else was really solid.
I recall a IMC stating Vanguard Class Titans are rare and another stating they should sell it, during your time grabbing BTs batteries in one of the first missions.
A vanguard unit has the advantage to be capable to use enemy weaponary, which do wonders when resupply lines cant be estabilished, as example, behind enemy lines.
That said, it wouldnt be enough for the pilot to be good with a specific titan, but he would need to be good with actually all of them to make proper use of a vanguard unit. Its so generic role is usually something a sizable enough army would avoid, too.
Basically it is a expensive multi-role titan with very little application on the battlefield. But it does incorporate the guerrilla warfare method very well, to be honest.

That evidence being in the mission "Blood and rust" where about half way through, just before you enter the circular room with cascading acid, a conversation can be heard between an IMC grunt and Kane. The grunt informs Kane that the Vanguard in the facility (BT) "may" be SRS, to which Kane responds that "All Vanguard titans are SRS."
Its small but it helps the theory
Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but the grunt said, "Apex Predators... Invitation only."
At the end of the campaign *SPOILER* Blisk throws down the Apex Predators 'business card', or something of the sort. This could hint to what Titanfall 3's basis will be. Maybe Blisk turns on the IMC, for the same reason he didn't kill Cooper, he's not getting paid/paid enough. Either way it's cool to comment the dots.

In one of the first missions Kane will mention that only SRS has Vanguard titans. Theres your answer. You will also hear some IMC pilots say how their titans are pieces of shit compared to his Vanguard. Sloan (slone?) also says shes always wanted a vanguard titan meaning Vanguard titans are very hard to aquire because they are operated by very talented pilots (SRS). This is an apex predator member we are talking about, meaning an SRS pilot is on par with an apex predator.
It would probably be to expensive to send down a vanguard class just to have it be blown up. The Vanguard class is probably just reserved for special missions
Couple theorys/reasons
1. Only SRS have vanguards
2. Only top of the line pilots get vanguards, multiplayer is filled with grunt or hired pilots who only get simpler titans mostly locked into loadouts
3. The vanguard is less expendable due to its AI and is reserved for special ops rather than firefights.
4. Vanguards cannot be given out to all pilots due to the added logistics of maintaining pilot-titan bonds for every single pilot.
5. Only a few vanguards exist due to their high production costs, are not expendable enough to be put in every theater.
6. No mass production has been implemented for them yet.
Mostly just boils down to them being far too expensive and viable to chuck into every firefight. Why waste them on massive fights where they are likely to take critical damage over time when you can make them exclusive to spec ops to ensure success when it's needed.
by the way the reason it takes place after and they still don't ue vanguard class titans is because it is really expensive to get the tankiest titan out there multiple times, same reason the mission fails when bt dies because there isn't a replacement
I’m actually kinda disappointed that the “SRS” aren’t a faction in the Multiplayer.
I've seen only one comment which pointed this out which is sad but in the campaign you hear an enemy say, "We've found a vanguard class titan, we think it's SRS" and his commander replies "All vanguard class titans are SRS you idiot." (Not exact quote but close enough) This suggests that vanguard class titans are still in a sort of beta stage and are only being used in one division of the militia. Also in the mission where you drop with commander Sarah Briggs and a bunch of other pilots, if you look at their titans before you breach the wall, they all appear to be vanguards which supports this. But also remember that the first banner you have when you join titanfall 2 is called the mercenary (default banner from level 1) which suggests that you are nothing more than a hired gun which is why you can switch allegiances.
Edit: (mercenary idea) which is also why you can't play as a vanguard class titan in the multiplayer

The faction for ash also ruins your theory (for multiplayer being past) since it said ash was revived.
Also, Vanguard Class titans were developed for recon deep in enemy lines. And before you call down FS-1041, Sarah Briggs says that they have "one left in the racks" which suggests that they are no longer able to develop vanguard class titans. so, overall, Vanguards were made for recon, and not so much combat.
Every body if the vanguard class titan gets added it would most likely just have the x0 -13 chain gun
since BT had an old pilot, he probably used the loadouts with Captain Lastimosa.
the reason multiy player has no vangards is because in the last mission Briggs says "I'm pulling the last vanguard class titans core" meaning there is no more vanguard class titans

I think the reason we don't have the vanguard class is because in the multiplayer is because we are mercenaries not fighting for one definite faction and if we aren't permanently fighting for the Militia we wouldn't get access to vanguard class titans
Vanguard got a regenerating shield and 3 battery slots that makes vanguards hard to maintain due to their battery consumption so they are probably as you said only for elite pilots or special missions.
the monarch titan is created by 2 destroyed vanguard titans, including BT-7274 chassis in the campaign
As BT was a vanguard titan, and he "got destroyed", they might not bother making more as it can die as quickly as the others. Or because it had so much personality, they were scared it could go defective. This was my theory until monarch came
Honestly, if you are common with Universal Century Gundam franchise, you would probably come up with the same conclusion too, probably as soon as you get in to multiplayer.
Western mecha fans are probably not common with this tactic, and will probably considered it useless too, the conclusion he reached is something that has long been common in Gundam.
In Gundam, instead of giving every pilots an equally good mech, each factions choose to divide mech in to two groups, the first group being more advance and clearly stronger, but fewer and more expensive
and the second group is the weaker ones that's cheap enough to be mass produced.
The weaker ones would serves as a distraction, cannon fodder, or something like line infantry.
The stronger one would lead the team, be the tank, or given pilots whose duty is special mission/operation, or be a prototype unit with experimental technology/weaponry to test in real combat situation.
And yes, the stronger ones would be granted to ace pilots only.
If we were to compare mechs to WW2 tanks, this would be like mixing Sherman tanks with Tiger 2, except the Tiger 2 would be as quick as a Sherman in this case. Sherman would do their flanking/surrounding tactic, while Tiger 2 would just park there and exchange punchs with enemy's tank.
Or, they could act like armored medieval knights, while the weaker mech act like infantry. The weaker ones would engage the enemy line directly, and while they're distracted, you send in the mounted knights (stronger mechs) to flank the enemy, to attack the weakest link in their battle line.

I would like to see a new titan for mp, for example, remember that arc gun in the first titanfall? Do a titan with that and for the core ability make it do something like an EMP where it disables core abilities/messes with vision/stuns/etc. Or a support titan where it can charge up a part of a friendly shield..... IDK be pretty cool

Let me support you theory saying that in Titanfall 1, in the campaing there are some titans with pilots inside, like Cpt. Brown, Ltn Green and so on. The point is that in the first IMC campaing mission one of those AI pilots says: "All pilots capture Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. The rest of you on me". So that titan pilot is obviosly a superior to the player pilots. And it would make sense that Vanguard class titans are given to elite pilots since a rookie would die and the wrecked titan could be reverse engenieered by the IMC just like the Militia did to the other titans.
Also, something tells me that Ash left the Apex Predators to join Vinson Dynamics since they were the ones who rebuilt her, as said in her description. So after being defeated by BT, employees of Vinson Dynamics could find some of her pieces and rebuild her.
Nice video! Can you make a theory about what could have happened to Bish, Spyglass and Graves? And also how Ash was created? I think the pilot regeneration and the Spectre camo burn card from the first game may have an answer.

We are the faction we choose in multiplayer.I'm 6-4(my faction) and all your A.I teammates (grunts look different by choosing a faction.specters etc look the same)look different.For example:In the campaign you are with the Maroder core and all the MC grunts look like Jack (in the beginning he had gear for grunts).So we know Morader core but if you choose Apex Predators your A.I (grunts) have a whitish gear with red stripes.The grunts of 6-4 have silver gear.Soooo yea YOU choose the faction.Now the reasons why Vanguard Titans aren't in multiplayer are simply because that would be op switching classes 247.And simply like in the video, maybe for high ranking pilots Vanguard Titans are there for.Long comment
They literally say this several times in game that only Marauder Corps (Militia Special Forces) are given Vanguard titans...
