Oh man I did this aspiration on Sunday and I forgot about the nectar man 😢 I bought orchid and pomegranate from Agnes and grafted the flower, took forever. But at least then I could make multiple ambrosias and sell them for tons of money.

I kept wanting to tell him to put the batter in another selling table. It preserves it as along a refrigerator and sims cannot eat out of it. You just have to get the batter out to use it. You can keep it in the selling table you're using, but it will annoyingly stock the batter when you do a sale. I always buy a second table and put my things I don't want eaten or sold in there.

Even now would make sense. He’s the oldest and his episodes are over. I can picture them enjoying their wine collection as an old retired couple, and love that are seeing how their son is growing up.

I suggest a two-story modern home with an overhang so Ruebin can have his food stall in front of the house without getting rained on. That would be the first suggestion, I was also thinking of putting a patio for his plants on the second level covered with a clear roof, or you can put that on the side of the house with a bbq and pool, so he could do some cooking and then cool off after a hard days work.
Would be cool if Reuben's house was on top of a diner or restaurant, kind of like Bob's Burgers but in modern/orange. As a goofy chef with similar looks, Reuben really gives Bob Belcher for me 😂

I think the cow plant died because you couldn’t actually take care of it as Scarlet toward the end. After she got eaten, she developed the fear of plants. So the cow plant went unfed for longer than the day you played as Rueben.
Oh, yeah, I forgot about that! This also explains why her plants already had lots of weeds and produce too, which shouldn't have happened yet if she'd already tended to them that day (I think.)
It's definitely for the better that it died 😂 personally I prefer the skeleton over the living one. It still looks kinda cool and isn't as annoying

For Reuben's house, personally I'd love to see something like a "mixed use" building you'd see in a city. With his stall on the first floor, imitating what Laird's Bakery is like in Rent to Riches but having a flat above it with access from either the back room or outside like a fire escape.
Sorry for the complicated, grandiose idea. I just love your build for Laird so much, I'd love to see it standalone. ❤

A modern Japanese style home because they fit with his neat personality and his personal style. Blending with his everyday clothes and food stand aesthetic and using that orangey Japanese wood coloring!!
Plus I like the idea that it would be more minimalist in comparison to the home he grew up in 🤣
I just binge played a ton of home chef hustle and discovered that drinks make THOUSANDS of simoleans. Once I got my sim mixing up level 5+ drinks she was rolling in five figures per food sale lol

I love Rueben, and I especially love how his dad and uncle keep stopping by "just to check" on his waffle maker.
I've had two jobs in my past that incolved waffle makers and there is no scent better than cooking waffle batter to draw in customers. It became policy at the icecream shop in the mall to make a waffle cone every 30 min just to send out that smell.
The mid mod furniture from Get Famous and Bowling Stuff would be PERFECT for Reuben's house. There are so many orange swatches

Regarding the ambrosia, if you don't want to do it, you can get it off the gallery, but of course it would also be entertaining to watch you trying to get all the ingredients!
I'm on team Gallery for this. Storyline wise it makes sense that Reuben might have "access" to ambrosia through like, a supplier.
Doesn't Scarlett have level 10 gardening? She could get some rare plant packets and gift Reuben the Death Flowers. You'll still have to fish for the Angelfish, but I think Reuben's Best Friend would help him out.
Are you sure the seed packets have it though? I think all I've ever gotten out of them was the weird beans to create the tree thing

Maybe for Reubens house you can put a café like space in front of Reubens house, so his buyers theoretically have a place to sit. You could also try and give his house a restaurant feeling on the inside (so random decor like a waterfall and big windows) and I also think he should have a big dining space cause I think tiny town would have festivities like thanksgiving in his home.
It also works well since Reuben’s lot is front and center on the Tiny Town plot
Reubens house should center around a big open kitchen where he can prepare and host dinner parties and Tiny Town gatherings.

With the trash issues, perhaps try switching to a dumpster near town center or the outskirts of the lot in place of the normal outdoor bins? The dumpsters can't get knocked over so they don't glitch out as much as the normal outdoor bins. It's how I've worked around the whole "somebody knocked down this bin and now it doesn't work" issue and might help the general inability to throw trash away?

@@lealarsen2017 I wasn't talking about trash overflow /nm- but rather the glitchiness he was experiencing with sims just picking up trash and then immediately sitting it back down on the ground rather than putting it in a bin. The outdoor bins are pretty buggy these days and while he was able to drag into them, the sims pathing might work better with a dumpster instead.
Trash overflow will happen no matter what, but, hey, at least with a dumpster, even if the pathing is still bugged, you then got an extra nap, meal, woo-hoo, and free item spot.

I don't know if the reward is worth it to finish the market magnate aspiration but I have done it with no cheating! First of all, regular sims WILL buy the ambrosia so you will need many servings. The best way to do that is copypasto-- I romanced and moved in the magic sage Simeon so my sim wouldn't have to do the whole spellcaster thing. Then you need a ghost to show up at your stall. The sims who live in the neighborhood you start a sale in are more likely to show up at your sale, so I moved a household of ghosts in nearby so they would show up. Then it was a matter of time. Another plus, the ambrosia sells for like 12,000 simoleons so even if regular sims buy it it's pretty good.
Having also done the market magnate aspiration, I agree it's difficult. I wanted to add that the cloning machine from the scientist career works similarly for obtaining multiple ambrosia without cheating.
you can travel with the stall with food in it, keyword: in. You have to clear table then put the food back into the table's inventory then drag the table into your sim.

Having part of the build be a cafe would not only look add some realism when having a food sale but also help things from getting broken in the rain and I think it add something interesting to the build to have a sunroom on the upfloor that's also a small greenhouse that way Reuben could have some if not all of the plants he needs for cooking and maybe the plants could overflow out onto a balcony as many modern builds try to be very eco friendly looking.
Its so cute that the grid on the waffle machine changes with the different waffles! It was heart shaped when you made the hearts desire waffles.
There's a tent from For Rent packs that goes well with the selling table to prevent the appliances from broken all the time! Such a useful item!

Yes, time of day DOES impact sales. It is noticeable around lunch and dinner time. This is why you have trouble selling at 3 in the afternoon. Also, if you go to the Henford Fair on Saturdays, you can sell well. I haven't clocked the meal time exactly, but 5-8 pm is probably a good evening sales time. I'm sure there is a good breakfast sales window as well.

Death Flower is splicing pomegranate and orchid, both of which you can get at Spice or Romance Festival. Then grow. Maybe his BFF auntie Scarlet could grow it for him.
dont forget there is an other aspiration from this pack, when u complete the aspiration u can mark up the prices to 500% (or something like that)!
Don't forget you have a million simoleons in the vault. That could buy a lot of seed packets! I also like the idea someone had of having Scarlett help since she has level 10 gardening. Plus, it was her lotto winnings!

The not tending the table thing is a bug that's been there since the release of Home Chef Hustle and has never been addressed. You have to really pay attention to it, unfortunately. Also, using the selling table is considered an indoor activity and will make Sims with the Loves the Outdoors trait tense if you use it for long periods of time, which is totally stupid, but the way the Sims made it.

You can also get a playful moodlet selling poor quality puffer fish and someone getting the 'permeant side affect', the moodlet is called agent of chaos
James, the level 10 gourmet cooking meal is sold for 700+ per portion with 300% mark up!
I got hundred thousand bucks in no time doing that!
You can get the death flower from the nectar guy in the horse ranch pack. You have to ask about the secret recipe but most of the time he just gives you a death flower.

After you get the death flower and make ambrosia, you still need to sell it to a ghost and have them eat it, which I found quite difficult. Normal sims will also buy ambrosia, so you need more than one, and you need to have ghosts come to your stall to buy the ambrosia in the first place. Perhaps you could buy additional ambrosia off the gallery after you make one, using community funds, and return the profits to the community vault once the aspiration is complete.
I binged all of Deli's Tiny Town series waiting for this upload. I can't get enough.

For Reuben’s house, I think he obviously needs a modern super chef’s kitchen with every appliance available, even the cupcake machine, and then maybe a little outside area for the food stall with tables and bins for the customers? I hope you do decide to complete the ambrosia part of the aspiration because I’m curious to see how it works out, I haven’t tried that step yet
