I got emerald 4 and decided to play a bit of solo/duo with this friend of a friend. We were in like bronze elo and he was asking me "okay, what's our plan for this lane and this game." I was flabbergasted. Usually I just kinda played the game by feel, looking for opportunities when I could 😂 Since then, I've learned way more about fundamentals, wave states, item/level spikes, ect, and I have to climb my account from bronze because I was silver in season 4 and bronze 4 with 6 games in 2022. learning your champion by watching otps is something ive had immense results with, in both champion mastery and basic skills. I used to struggle to pay attention to my map and would get surprised by jg even when i warded but watching so many urgot otps i understood their perspective of the game and allowed myself to free up more of my mental stack from what i wanted to do in lane so that i could pay attention to my map. I went from mid plat (from before emerald) all the way to high diamond and i plan on pushing masters come the start of the new season.
I'm not going to lie, I always get depressed hearing stories of people who just get really good at rocket league easily. I have over 7000 hours and I peak GC3 and often go on spirals where I will feel like I lose all my skill and am struggling in GC1. Also given my experience it is not that LOL is way harder, just that it is different. In league knowing what to do in the moment is hard, but doing it rarely is, whereas in rocket league knowing what to do usually isn't that hard, but doing it is fucking impossible.
As a midlaner, junglers always expect you to move when they’re the ones getting into random scuttle or invade fights. Even when i have zero mana, a wave under tower, etc. They spam ping after dying. Junglers need to learn to play based of lane states
@ sure but you cant have a 100% uptime either, you’ll inevitably be in situations without prio every game. And somehow junglers choose to start doing shit right at that moment

I was (am) also a co-op vs Ai intellectual like 48:05. My question to the writer is: do you actually care about your rank? I barely do. I joined my school’s team and that motivated me. It was great getting their validation and they helped a lot with spoon feeding me info about the enemy. It kept my mental stack manageable. Yeah I’m “silver” but they all say I could get emerald if I played more ranked. I do also play some ranked now. It’s less daunting because I view it as practice for competitive and I don’t need it for validation.

@@mephisto--I think it’s clear that you have considerable skill in the game. Ranked is a weird thing though. Maybe you don’t yet have the skill to know when to dodge a lobby, manage your team’s emotions, determine whether your mid laner will carry if the get a gank, or strategize under the pressure of being one win away from a promotion. Those are all interesting in their own way, but I don’t really care about them or the effect they have on my rank. I think we can be really respectable competitive or Clash players, or maybe even provide value as assistant coaches. We would be lower rank than we think we deserve, but we wouldn’t be stuck there if we put in the effort.

I put it in quotes because my teammates call me the best silver player since I do well in Normals and competitive against diamond and low master players. But you’re right. If my rank is silver, it’s stupid to put it in quotes.

His current grind would be great to analyze now that his silver/gold. his doing a massive league marathon with going bald on the line, his mental and relationship with the game is still very toxic even tho his improving, it would be interesting what yall think his current issues are.

The info for people to consume is to play for fun and stop trying to play for rank. The game is full of people trying to make you lose for their entertainment, so just play for fun.
you know i really enjoy you guys content but content creators who do educational vids always reach the same point and its always rubbed me the wrong way, it always comes back to the just play better because you can carry any game you are making the right calls in, and while i do understand the base level of you are the only thing you can control in your games so that needs to be the best you can make it no one ever looks at the games that are just truly a difference in teams ability in a healthy light and its really frustrating to look for educational content on how to deal with those losses and only ever find "you suck you need to play better no game is unwinnable there is always something you could have done" and i feel thats just not true, im fully open to saying i make mistakes and have defiantly been the reason some games are lost but when i play a block of 3 games and all 3 are losses then when i review the games asking what could i have done better and it feels like the answer is just be in every lane where do i go from there? if anyone has answers i would love to hear it i want to be a better player and i dont want to blame my teams but what do when im 20 minutes in the game and the other 4 members of my team have died 40 times? how can i do more when i average 7cs/min and 1k damage/min and when i average a 40% kp ? I make game ending mistakes and misplays but at what point does it stop being my fault and how do i use those games to self improve?( I have not watched this video yet so if anything is mentioned in this video that answers my question i apologize in advance.)

They never said you can carry every game. There are gonna be losses because of your teammates and because the enemy team just outplayed you. But you are focusing too much on the loses and asking yourself to do too much. Reviewing a game and concluding that you should have been in every lane is pointless and damaging to your mental. Next games try to shift your focus from the win/loss result to your own ability at the game. Consider a win a game where you didn't make a mistake that you would have made a week ago. Having learning objectives is good for this. Gl

also rocket league is 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 (2s is most played ranked mode, but 3s is the mode for organized competition) but not 4v4 lol
