This is probably one of the best , if not the best metal band period. From adrenaline to Diamond Eyes they have transcended.. musically and lyrically...If you can't tell i'm an avid fan. My fav group period. Their music has carried me through so many rough times. (and good ones too!!) But without a doubt...They are good...and yes they are legends.

I believe the song is all about all the reasons one would change into that direction (of addiction, downward spiral), and all the reasons one would want to change away from that direction. That whole spectrum is meaningfully important. From never having drugs, i think the high of drugs is similar to detaching meaning from oneself or becoming accustom to losing it - and when the high wares off you want meaning back, but the type of meaning/worth that comes from the self, intrinsic values, other people, connection, goals, motivation, everything that isn't from drugs.
As someone who was introduced to Deftones with this song in Cooler's Revenge, I am happy that the comments aren't all about that. It's about how people grew up with Deftones and their life experiences that remind them of this particular song.

Had a tough childhood so i didnt really get to know myself early on and discover that many new bands and develop my taste in music so now that im in a stable situation as an adult...a new father actually i keep discovering bands like this...Im 37 now and this is fresh to me ...i knew about them of course but they really stuck .
